Sage hadn't expected that response from Mari, so when she stormed towards the door, he'd kept out of the way hurriedly, giving her a rather shocked look. She'd never snapped at him like that, and she certainly hadn't almost pushed him over so she could get through the door. Though, it really only spiked all his negative emotions by then, and he stormed down after her, trying to control himself but not all too sure it was working. "I'm leaning towards the fact that making a decision is going to take me some time," he called back at her, this time making a beeline for the front door. "It's not something that can be decided in a few days," he huffed, stalking out the door anddown to the barn.

Mari just sort of shook her head, keeping her mouth shut in fear that she'd say anything more that she regretted. She knew it would take time. But the week they'd had the kid here should have been enough. It had been more than enough for her. She'd tried to like all of this... the kid. She'd tried to be calm about it. To care for him. But she didn't. She didn't care for the baby one bit, and the baby didn't seem to like her much either. She just finished her washing up, soon enough going to hang them up to dry, then heading out to the market to pick some things up for dinner.

Sage sort of calmed down a little bit as he marched down to the barn, so by the time he got there he sort of just plopped down on a hay bale with a heavy sigh, shoulders slumping. Had he really just yelled at Mari and stormed off like a toddler? It certainly wasn't how he imagined their day going. How mad was she about this? He didn't know....they'd never gotten into an argument like this before, and he wasn't sure how to respond to it all. Of course, now worries were swarming through his brain, so he just moved to force himself to his feet and take care of the horses. He stayed out there for a while....it was after dark by the time he crept back inside, washing up and hesitating by the bed, where Mari was already asleep. He sighed after a moment and tucked her in, pressing a light kiss to her head before moving to turn the light off and slip downstairs to settle himself of the couch, just watching the baby sleep, thoughts running through his mind before he ended up falling asleep on the armrest of the couch.

Mari sort of marched around the market for a while... she wasn't sure what she was doing. Just trying to find something other than shouting and getting angry. She wouldn't have chased after Sage. They would have just argued about what they'd already shouted at eachorher about. It was sort of her fault, too... she was pushing him to make a decision about a literal baby that she for some reason just didn't like. It wasn't just some random kid, either... it was actually his baby. Still, she was just heated about this sort of thing. She picked up a few snack type things, and didn't get back until late... Sage would have gotten the kids to bed. Or, he better had, so she just took herself to bed without another word. She just wanted to get a some rest, to stop thinking for a while.

Sage hadn't slept for very long until the baby woke him, starting to whimper. He tried to ignore it, but when the noises increased slightly, he groaned and went to get the bottle and baby before sitting back down with a sigh. He supposed he should stop the baby from waking Mari...he didn't need her any more grumpy than she already was. He knew it was hard for her....but he just was still trying to figure this out. If he accepted the baby was his and he needed to take responsibility for it, then it meant he had to take responsibility for having a kid with another woman. Even if it was an unwanted thing. The baby took forever to fall asleep, too, so by the time he'd put him back in the crib and collapsed onto a chair in the kitchen, the sun had started to peek through the curtains he'd previously closed. He sort of just rested his head in a hand, drifting off again, hoping the headache didn't last.

Mari slept for a long while... well into the afternoon the next day. She didn't sleep in much, but she had to admit it was kind of nice having the bed to herself. Just to relax for a while. She hated arguing, and in truth she was a bit scared to go and talk to Sage. She knew how things like this affected him, and she really didn't want to make him feel any worse than he already did. At about two in the afternoon, she sort of stumbled down the stairs, probably looking just as awful as she felt.

Sage had just drifted off when he woke to Silas tugging on his shirt, asking about breakfast. He sort of rubbed his eyes, trying to manage to take care of his children despite the awful headache that had formed. He got out some leftover waffles and fruit, handing it to Silas. By the time he was settled, Liz had come wandering in as well, so he settled her too. Soon enough they were begging to go play in the yard, so he nodded tiredly and moved to sit on the table on the porch, letting them play and trying to keep an eye on them, but his head was absolutely pounding by then, so he'd rested his chin on his hand, and soon enough found himself nodding off again. He didn't suppose he cared much though ...he was exhausted, and his head hurt, and the kids would be alright.

Mari sort of looked around when she got downstairs, eventually going to get herself something to eat. She saw the kids running outside, and she sort of peered out the window with a small smile... they looked happy. It was nice to see. Though, her smile quickly depleted when she heard the baby start to weep in the corner. She let out a heavy groan and sort of moved to make sure he was okay. She tried getting him to sleep again... though when it didn't work, she tried getting him to latch onto the bottle... which again, didn't work at all. She sort tried all the little tricks, and again he just didn't want to relax. She sort of picked him up and took him outside to hand off to Sage, before eventually bustling off into town again, just to spend a bit of time to herself for a while.

Sage had sort of jerked awake when Mari nudged him, and he gave her a sort of groggy look before catching the baby she'd practically tossed into his arms. He sort of sighed and flopped back in the chair, getting the baby to latch onto the bottle after a minute, sort of just watching Mari as she wandered off before closing his eyes with a groan. Though, he had them back open soon enough, not wanting to fall asleep while he was watching the kids. He didn't need Mari to get any more mad at him. He did wonder when she'd calm down though....she still seemed mad, and he wasn't going to try and talk to her while she was still upset. Part of him was scared she'd lash out again. That it would be more than a push next time. The other half knew she'd never intentionally hurt him.....but his brain just was under a lot of stress and there were so many bad memories floating around it was hard to separate that from reality.

Mari sort of padded around the market for a while, the cooler breeze soothing on her by now red face. She was stuck in the house too much... she was just happy to get out for a while. And, well, she really just didn't want to be in the house. She didn't want to shout at Sage, or get angry, or anything... she didn't want the kids to see them arguing, and the only way she felt that was possible was to stay away from him, at least for a few hours. She eventually wandered of to her mother's house, just wanting a calm conversation with somebody.
