Jora couldn’t help but let out a quiet chuckle at Sage’s grumbling, but she didn’t push it. She watched Sage move sluggishly toward the kitchen, the movement slow and familiar, like Sage was trying to prolong the inevitable of getting up. When she returned, Jora couldn’t deny the relief of seeing her back under the covers, that familiar warmth enveloping them again. “Thanks,” Jora said, taking the piece of fruit from Sage, but she wasn’t in a rush to take a bite yet. Instead, she leaned back against the pillows beside her, feeling the peaceful stillness of the room. It wasn’t often they had moments like this, not when things were usually so busy or chaotic. For now, the quiet was welcome. The soft light from the window fell across the bed, and Jora glanced over at Lyra, who was still sound asleep. It made her smile a bit, feeling oddly content in the midst of the calm. "Could get used to this," she murmured, her voice almost a whisper as she sank further into the bed, a little more relaxed now that they didn’t have to rush anywhere. It was just them, and for once, there was no hurry to be anywhere but here. |

Sage nodded lightly when Jora thanked him, not minding if she wasn't quite ready to eat yet. Though, at her comment he hummed softly in agreement, nodding along as he followed her glance over to the sleeping baby, a smile forming on his face. "I don't think I'll ever get tired of being able to just lay around in the mornings," he noted with a sort of laugh, taking another bite of his food. He really did appreciate being able to sleep without worrying something would happen or someone would need him or.... anything like that. If Lyra needed something she'd let them know. Eventually, he moved to set his core down on the side table, wiping his fingers on his pants and then flopping over again with a sort of content sigh, head resting lightly on Jora. He could still feel his body protesting moving too much, and that was ok...he could relax for today. Hopefully, he'd be up for working on the dock by tomorrow. It needed to be done by the time jase got down to the island, after all. |

Jora couldn't help but smile as Sage flopped back next to her, his head resting lightly against her. She shifted a little, letting him settle comfortably. The quiet mornings were a rare gift, and she couldn't deny that she, too, appreciated the stillness, especially with everything they’d been through. There was something peaceful about having time to just... exist, without the weight of responsibilities pressing down. "Yeah," she murmured softly, her hand resting gently against his shoulder. "I think I'm with you on that one. There's something nice about not having to rush." She glanced back at Lyra, the soft rise and fall of the baby's chest lulling her into an even deeper sense of calm. "We'll get there," she added, her voice quiet but warm, as if reassuring both of them. The work could wait. It would get done when it got done. Today was for them. |

Sage nodded with a chuckle, just moving to sort of entwine his fingers with hers and she moved her hand closer to him. "Is there anything specific you wanted to do today," he asked after a while. He knew they were taking a lazy day....but they would still need to keep somewhat entertained. He could lay here for a while, but he knew they'd both get bored of it eventually. That was alright, but he did want to know if there was a specific game or something she'd want to do. He hummed lightly in agreement to her comment, just glad to be home with everyone here happy and healthy. Well...he supposed he wasn't surprised healthy at the moment, but that was rather irrelevant. He was healing. And that was really all that mattered. He might ask for a back rub later though, of things didn't stop being sore by the time it was later in the day. The warm water had helped last night, but the soreness had come back by now. |

Jora smiled softly as Sage's fingers intertwined with hers, his presence as comforting as always. She tilted her head slightly, glancing at him as she thought about his question. A lazy day sounded perfect, but she knew they wouldn't be content just lounging around for too long. "Hmm, we could play something, maybe?" she mused, her thumb gently brushing across the back of his hand. "Or maybe just a walk? We could wander around the yard... or anywhere that feels peaceful." She chuckled at his mention of being sore. "You know, I could give you that back rub now if you'd like. I’m sure I can work some of that tension out before it gets worse." She wasn’t surprised to hear he still felt sore, but it was comforting to know he was healing, even if slowly. And there was no rush, they'd get through it together. For now, though, she was content just being with him, quietly enjoying the moment. |

Sage nodded with a soft hum in response to her comment. "That sounds nice," he agreed lightly. A walk would get them outside at least, and a little bit of exercise without pushing themselves too hard or anything. It would be nice. They could show Lyra her home. .. Though the baby probably wouldn't care much about it quite yet. But still, it would be enjoyable. When she mentioned she could rub his back now, he sort of cocked his head at her, debating it, before grunting and nodding in agreement. "That might be best," he admitted, shifting so she could sort of straddle him, just letting himself relax as she moved to work at the tension and turned lingering in his body. |

Jora's eyes softened at Sage's light agreement. A walk outside with him, even with Lyra, would be nice. She didn't expect much from the baby at this point—after all, it wouldn't care about the surroundings yet—but it felt good to think about showing her something that was theirs. Their home. When Sage nodded for her to rub his back, Jora gave a small, amused smile. She shifted without hesitation, straddling him and pressing her palms to his shoulders. She could feel the tightness in his muscles as her hands worked at the tension. The weight of it seemed to melt away under her touch, and she leaned in close, murmuring softly, "Just relax, Sage." She knew he wouldn’t ask for help unless he really needed it, so she'd make sure to work through all of it, giving him something he deserved. The quiet, shared moment felt... simple but right. |

Sage just smiled when they agreed on a walk. It wasn't much...something they did often. But he had missed his home, and the forest around the house and the beach were all parts of that home. Taking a walk as a family would be nice. Really nice. He would look forward to it. Besides, it meant he wasn't sitting around all day...he did need to get back in shape, and a walk kept him healthy without doing too much while he was still healing. As she pressed her hands into his shoulders, he couldn't help but let out a small breath, letting his head flop onto his forearms, which he'd moved in front of him. He sort of moved to just relax there, closing his eyes and letting her work at the knots in his back. He did try not to make much of a deal about it, but he did hurt and she did feel amazing, so the occasional hiss or grunt escaped his lips as she hit especially sore spots. Eventually though, those eased up and he was able to relax a lot more easily....it did feel much better. She could stop when she wanted to, but it did feel pretty darn nice. |

Jora could feel the tension in his shoulders, the tightness of the muscles under her hands. He was trying to hide it, but the little sounds he made let her know just how much he was hurting. She applied just the right pressure, working out the knots with steady, confident strokes. She couldn't help but smile as he relaxed under her touch, the tension slowly easing out of him. It was a good feeling, knowing she could help him feel better. She let her hands work a little longer, savoring the quiet moment between them, before she decided to ease up, just in case he needed a break. But honestly, she could stay like this for a while. It felt good—almost too good to stop. |

Sage wasn't sure how much time had passed before she'd started to ease up a bit, but even that still felt nice. He supposed he'd have to mention back ribs to her more often. It was an amusing thought really...he wouldn't necessarily need them, but they were quite nice. He sort of drifted into that half awake half asleep stage after a while, just completely relaxing under her touch. He sort of slipped in and out of that state for a while, though eventually she had stopped, and he shifted to curl up with her again with a happy hum and a light thanks. He did feel a whole lot better.... hopefully it would stay that way with some rest today. He was anxious to get back out there and working. |
