(lolll that's real. Sage is gonna push being healthy but yea keep him not eating for a while if u like xD) Sage went about getting the rabbit ready, cocking his head slightly towards Jackson when the other boy spoke up. "You did," he asked, surprised. That mare was the best thing that ever happened to Jackson, he clearly lived her a lot. "I'm sorry," he murmured. "I had a horse in the army...we don't get to take them with us after though," he murmured. "I'm not even sure what happened to him after we got hit." In all honesty the stallion had probably been injured, which meant he'd probably lay there on the field until someone shot him. He shuddered slightly, trying not to think about it. It only brought up more bad memories. Once the rabbit was done and over the fire, he settled down next to Jackson with a sigh. So much had happened, to both of them. It was so odd. And he couldn't help but wonder if Jackson would react badly if he realized sage had a lot of the same problems his mom dealt with. He couldn't tell him, could he? No, he didn't think so.

Jackson Alex-Ren ~----------------------~ Jackson watched Sage. "Yeah... 'm sorry." He muttered, staring into the fire. He gulped, swallowing some bile that rose in his throat. He made a face of disgust and sighed, relaxing his facial features. "I'm doomed for this lifetime." He grumbled. "You are too- don't worry." He added jokingly. His eyes began to water as the heat from the fire burned his eyes. He looked away quickly. Jackson could never stand the heat. But now he usually loved it more then anything... maybe that was because he had almost no muscle or anything on his bones- he shuddered at the thought.

Sage sort of hummed and nodded, staring into the fire, mind running. He was trying not to let it take off with him again, but he wasn't sure how well that was all working. "Not your fault," he mused after a moment, shifting slightly with a sigh. "Do we know how cold it's supposed to get out yet once the sun goes down," he added after a moment, frowning at the sun as it looked over the edge of the horizon. It would be dark soon....and that was a bit worrying. And what about wolves and bears and stuff? They were definitely here, and they'd smell the rabbit and want it. He only had two bullets in his gun....which would t do much against that. And he'd really rather not knife fight a bear. He wasn't sure that would go well. He snorted at Jackson's comment, nodding with an eye roll. "Tell me about it," he grumbled, but with a sort of chuckle. Edited at October 15, 2024 03:10 PM by NightClan

Jackson Alex-Ren ~----------------------~ Jackson spoke up before he could really process his words. "It's supposed to be in the 60's tonight... with humidity...." He mumbled out, picking at his nails on silence. Since he was so skinny-... it was just natural to check the weather for the whole day and night now... Was that a good thing? Not especially. Was it bad? No. It wasn't. Though, a shiver ran through Jackson's body as a gust of wind brushed by him. It ruffled his hair, his purple curls framing his face as he glanced to the side. Looking the way thay the wind wafter off to...

Sage wrinkled his nose when Jackson mentioned the temperature, groaning slightly. "I hate the cold," he grumbled. That was something else that didn't change....he was pretty much always cold. Unless it was like eighty degrees and sunny, he was probably complaining about it being cold at some point. It was dumb, really....you'd think he'd have learned to manage it, especially with the army....but nope. He was cold all the time. And he absolutely hated it. He moved to build the fire up with a sigh, hoping they'd stay at least somewhat warm. It would help keep animals away anyway....unless there were snakes. He didn't appreciate that thought.

Jackson Alex-Ren ~----------------------~ Jackson hesitated for a moment before he spoke up. "Sage..." He said, calling his name to get his attention. "Do you ever feel like... you have to do something....? Like... to stay in control of your life?" He asked tentatively. Jackson tugged one of his legs up, pulling it to his chest and wrapping his arms around it. He couldn't look at Sage... So, instead, his eyes centered on the fire Sage was building up.

Sage sort of let out a hum when Jackson called his name, looking over at him with a cocked head. He listened to his question before chuckling, alibet a bit bitterly, and nodded. "oh hell yeah," he noted with a shake of his head. "all the tattoos and piercings? They all cover up scars I don't want to see it think about," he admitted, sort of shifting his weight awkwardly. It was stupid, he knew that....but for whatever reason getting a tattoo and watching a needle stab him thousands of times let him know he was in control of his body. At least, he tried to believe it. He couldn't control his mind, but his body was at least his. At least in that way. Once the fire was built up, he moved to sit down next to Jackson, nibbling at his lip ring again. He was nervous, he supposed...being out here. Would they even miss them? Would anyone even care? No one knew him.

Jackson Alex-Ren ~----------------------~ Jackson raised an eyebrow. "... Well, they look nice on you." He murmured, looking Sage over. He did have a lot of tattoos. It was... sort of off-putting. But not really. He still looked... like Sage. Jackson looked back down at the fire, shifting on the rock to try to get into a more comfortable position... This rock really did suck. "They'll probably realize we're gone soon- right?" He muttered, glancing up and around at the surroundings. "Or not and we die out here- Well, I die- You don't- I doubt you would like right now-" He rambled. He felt very... anxious. His heart was beating hard and he felt his chest tightening. He made a face. Ugh. Anxiety. Fucking anxiety. (Sorry it's short <3)

Sage couldn't help but stare at Jackson, a blush spreading across his face when the other male said the tattoos looked good on him. He certainly hadn't expected that response, from anyone. "they do," he sort of asked incredulously, not entirely sure he believes him. Generally people grabbed their kids and walked the other way or crossed the street when he came along, so he wasn't very used to a positive reaction from....anyone. Besides, he hadn't done them to look cool, they were covering things up like he'd said, but they all also had meanings to them. "They've gotta take attendance or whatever, so they'll know we're gone," he noted. The only thing was ...they'd think they were in the cave. Not miles out here, wherever they were. When Jackson started rambling, he sort of sighed and nudged his shoulder lightly with his own. "take a deep breath," he mused, the same way he used to as kids when Jackson got nervous. "we'll be alright. There's food and water, and the weather might be chilly but it's not freezing and there's no rain coming," he pointed out. They had a fire too, so he wasn't too worried. The smoke would signal to people they were here, too. They'd be ok, as long as any large predators didn't decide they wanted to pick a fight. He was a good fighter, but couldn't do much against a wolf pack or a bear. Or a venemous snake, if they were around here and decided it wanted a spot by the fire.
