“Good,” she scoffed and then heard his phone ring. She nodded and listened as he talked with his sister she was able to pick up bits and pieces of their conversation from taking her French class.

“She must really miss you,” she said quietly. She never really understood the connection of having a sibling it’s always just been her but they seemed very close and so she must mean a lot to him.

“Did you want a sibling? Like are you glad you have her?” She asked bluntly and then realized that was probably dumb to ask.

Auni nodded trying to understand. They eventually arrived home and she parked in the driveway. She took her backpack out and opened the door greeted by Sadie who was wagging her tail and ran up to Theo. Both her parents were home but weren’t downstairs so they were either in their room of working in the upstairs office. She saw a box of croissants sitting on the table.

“Looks like mom picked a taste of France up for you,” she said as she hung her backpack up and her parents heard the commotion and came downstairs.

“How was your first day! How was hockey?” Her mom asked the both of them.

“It was good,” Auni shrugged and then let Theo answer as she went upstairs to take a shower. She didn’t hate him in fact she actually kinda enjoyed talking to him but she just doesn’t really know him yet. She’ll get used to living with him eventually. She finished her shower and wrapped up in her towel and she glanced at the sink…she totally forgot to bring her clothes in for her to change into. She couldn’t sit in the bathroom all night and so she carefully opened the door and peaked out and she couldn’t really see the stairs so she opened the door so she could quickly run to her room but then her whole heart dropped and her face turned as pink as a rare steak. This was her worst nightmare. She quickly slammed her door shut in hopes the footsprints she heard weren’t Theo’s and it was just Sadie or her mom or dad. She didn’t dare look back to see. One of Most embarrassing moments of her life if it was Theo. She tried not to think it was a big deal and that it’s no different than if she was drying off at the beach or the pool. She needed to calm herself down and so she sat on her bed in her pajamas and started a new book she got. Of course ironically it was a rom com and what did the love interest do… well he’s a hockey player. This cannot be the universes way of telling her she needs to get over it she refuses to believe that. It’s just a book.

Surprisingly Auni was quite tired. She read for awhile and then got up to go let Sadie out. On the way back Sadie stopped by to sniff Theos door and to see if she could crack it open.

“Sadie come on,” she whispered trying to make it sound like she wasn’t creeping at his door. She then shut her door quietly and went to bed only to do it all again tomorrow.

She woke up as her alarm went off and got dressed she wore jean shorts and an oversized t shirt with her sneakers and her hair was down today. She opened her door to let Sadie out first and headed downstairs for breakfast. She broke open the croissants she waited for Theo and she packed her backpack. Her book was actually fairly good so she took that and her notebooks she was hoping they wouldn’t have homework today since it’s only the second day usually by next week they will have something due. She didn’t really feel like talking to Theo a whole lot today not after last night she was still really embarrassed. But she doesn’t know for sure if it was even him.

Auni didn’t really look at Theo but she glanced over something about wet hair was…attractive as she ate her croissant “hey,” she said quietly back as she grabbed her keys “ready? she asked as she patted Sadie on the head and was in just a bit of a rush to get to school so the car ride wasnt too awkward. She partly liked school because Theo could do his own thing. But she also started to get a little curious about him and didn’t mind his company. She just needed to be brought out of her shell and next week she’s in for a treat becauss her friends are forcing her to watch the hockey game.

She nodded and headed out the door to her car she got in and started it. She rolled her window down and threw her stuff in the backseat she was more quiet today and she drove to school just paying attention to the road. She pulled Into the busy school parking lot and parked in her usual spot. She got out and grabbed her things and walked to the big double doors into high school hell. She saw Paige going in and went up to her,

“Hey,” she said and Paige waved.

“This is Theo you haven’t met yet but this is Paige I sit with her at lunch and I ride with her you’ll probably see her later at the barn,” Auni said. Paige had silky red hair and green eyes and Auni liked that she wasn’t so stereotypical. She dropped her things off at her locker and went home room. Once seated she decided to read her new book briefly until announcements were over. “I’ll try to keep Kelsey from doing anything stupid or embarrassing today,” Auni said to Theo as the bell rang for them to get to their classes.

(what if maybe a little later some of the guys from the hockey team talk about possibly trying to ask Auni out and she rejects one and that's kinda the turning point when she realizes she really likes Theo. And after she attends the hockey game a little more of her personality will start to come out and she'll start to come out of her shell a little more)
