Myra watched in awe as he roped perfectly; she did not know much about this discipline, but based on the cheers he had done very well. After a few more minutes of lounging around, she finally led Adonis back over to the trailer where she started untacking him. She made sure to give him extra treats and pats as a reward for performing so well today. Although her parents were here, she knew that they had already left to go back to the family ranch; congratulations always occured at home. She planned on going over to tell Caleb he did an amazing job once she finished tending to Adonis. |

Caleb untacked and groomed out his mare before sitting in a lawn chair and starting the small fire ring again |

Once Adonis was comfortable and relaxed, Myra composed herself before walking over to where she knew Caleb`s trailer was. She could not prevent herself from smiling when she saw him tending to the fire ring, pausing a few feet away. After a few moments of watching, she finally spoke, ``You did amazing today.`` |

Caleb glanced up at her, taking a seat on a lawn chair. He gestured to the other in an invitation to sit with him. "Thanks" He said. "You did too" He added |

``Thank you,`` she replied with a gentle, grateful expression on her face. Myra walked over and took a seat beside the fire, sighing softly as she gazed into the flames. She was pretty used to getting all the compliments and congratulations after all these years of competing, but there were always the ones that felt honest and genuine, just like his. |

Caleb sat in companionable silence, just looking at the fire and occasionally glancing at the fire |

Myra also simply basked in the silence, leaning back in her chair to peer up at the sky. She never complained when silence prevailed, especially when you had someone to share it with. |

Caleb began thinking about his performance in the arena that evening. I could have done better |

Myra eventually looked over at Caleb again and nearly frowned at the sight of his expression. He seemed to be silently dwelling on something and it was making him look a little sad and disappointed, presumably the rodeo. With a small sigh, her voice broke the silence, ``You really were amazing out there.`` |

"Thanks." He said, still debating each stride Splash had taken. He was slightly confused as to why she'd said it again, but blew the thought off as he thought of all the ways his mare could have stumbled or gotten a little better of position. In the end, he supposed, it was never her fault. he didn't know any better and he was in charge of directing her and helping her. |
