Sage was more than content to sit in the silence for a while, and just rest in the peace. The quiet sounds of the waves and sigh as the sun set was definitely calming...and he admittedly found himself drifting off after a while. Actually, he drifted off, then woke a short amount of time later. It hadn't been too long, but it was rather amusing it had happened at all. He sort of shifted to glance over at Mari, who was still just relaxing and grunted. "Should we just go to bed or do you want a drink first," he asked quietly, gesturing to the small shelf that was stocked up with various bottles in the kitchen. "I don't care either way," he mused.

Mari sort of jumped a little at his comment, obviously not really expecting him to wake up at all... he'd looked so peaceful when he was asleep. She hummed softly before moving to shake her head. "Hm? No," she chuckled lightly before sitting up a bit and resting her head on her hand again. "Let's do head off to bed. We can do more stuff later," she murmured softly to him before pressing a light kiss to his forehead and standing up, offering him her hand before padding back to their room.

Sage chuckled slightly and hummed a sort of apology when she jumped, then nodded happily when she'd decided to get to bed. He agreed....he was tired, and bed would be nice. It wasn't super early, but it was enough to catch them up from their travels and such, which would be quite nice. So, he took her hands happily and padded after into the bedroom, flopping down on the bed and letting out a surprised grunt when he realized the bed was even more comfortable than the one on the ship, and the blankets were extraordinarily soft and cozy. He didn't take too long to think about it though, since by the time he'd curled up under the covers and gotten comfortable with Mari, he was back flat out asleep.

Mari flopped down on the bed after a moment, just happy to settle down... it had been a busy day. She knew that they should be messing around and having fun, and they'd had a good time. But they had a whole week to run about like idiots, and she did enjoy just getting time to... sleep, she supposed. It really was nice, she could admit that. She was always up before the kids and Sage, making sure they were all fed and ready for their day, and she spent most of the time in the house now too. It would be nice, but she often exhausted herself finding things to do. Stupid little projects to keep herself entertained. But this would be nice, and she didn't have a thing in the world to worry about.

Sage had fallen asleep quite quickly, and he slept pretty soundly for a while. In fact, by the time he woke up the next day, it was nearing noon. He sort of blinked around blearily, finding it sort of odd that he wasn't cold, but not at all upset about it. He sort of flopped abck onto the bed with a sigh though, curling back up with Mari again and sort of just letting himself relax again. He was just really comfortable...the bed was amazing and Mari was warm and soft and he just really loved her. It was an odd thought, and sudden...btu he didn't mind. He was just glad to be able to hold her and be held by her. And she'd promised a back rub at some point, so there was that too, he supposed. But for now....it was their anniversary, so he was going to spoil her rotten all day long. And he was plenty excited about it. He figured letting ehr sleep in was a good start though, no matter how excited he was about it all. He could use the rest too. Edited at January 29, 2024 09:43 PM by NightClan

Mari slept soundly most of the night... this place was more comfortable than she could imagine. The sea was rolling quietly in the background, and it was sort of just... nice. She never expected to be anywhere like this before. Of course, their honeymoon was wonderful but something about being here just made it all so much better. She sort of woke up later the next morning... after noon, and she was just so overwhelmed by all this. It was just so perfect. The sun was peaking softly through the blinds, and it seemed to fill the rooms with this angelic glow. She looked over at Sage with a small smile, and kind of curled into him before pecking his cheek. "Happy anniversary," she whispered sleepily to him.

Sage was more than happy to just lay there until he felt Mari shift next to him, and he gave her a lazy but happy grin in response to her comment, wrapping himself around her snugly. "Happy anniversary, babe," he sort of crackled, and was suddenly thankful she liked the sound of his voice in the morning, because otherwise it wouldn't have been nearly as romantic as he'd hoped it to be. Whatever....he didn't dwell on it too much. It would just drive him crazy. And he just wanted to spoil his wife for a while.

Mari smiled lightly at his little comment, and burried into him a bit more. She was so lucky... she thought that all the time. She sighed and moved to press a kind of tired sloppy kiss to his chest before flopping down again, the warmth of the whole place making her so happy. She supposed that was it. She was just so happy when they got to spend a bit of time with him. They'd been together for so long now, and she still felt like this. How long had it been now? Six, seven years? Yeah... about that long.

Sage chuckled slightly at her hum and kiss, pressing a lazy kiss to the top of her head and hugging her a bit tighter when she curled in more. He was just so glad to be able to do this sort of thing with her....when they'd first started out a few years ago, he'd never imagined they could be doing something like this. It was always tooe expensive. But they'd made a life for themselves, and they were well enough off that this wouldn't i.pact them too much if he hadn't worked a bit extra for this with all the art. "What do you want for breakfast," he hummed after a moment. He wasn't reallye willing to get up quite yet, but he did want to make her something nice once they got hungry. It would be nice.....and he was definitely excited to spoil her absolutely rotten.

Mari felt a small smile cross her face when he curled into her side. All she could do was grin and bury her face into his chest. She shrugged in response to is comment and moved to sort of rest her head on her hands for a moments. "I don't mind at all," she whispered to him before moving to flop down again. "You know better than anyone that I don't mind," she chuckled to him after a moment or two before moving to flop onto her back. She groaned and moved to press a light kiss to his neck, just trying to get comfortable after a little while.
