Ajax was glad that Mercy seemed so... happy. He went off of a whim that it was because he was trying to be more... something. More open. Or, okay fine, more romantic- he just didn't like the word. At her words his thinking was put on pause as he laughed. "Who knows. I'm sure it would be something so amazing you would pass out from shock." He joked with a chuckle, his arm moving back down to rest around Mercy again as he gazed out at the bright sky. "I know it sounds weird like this, but I feel very blessed to have gotten to know you. You are truly a special person." Ajax partially joked, but he sounded rather serious.

Mercy giggled faintly at him, looking about as thrilled as a schoolgirl going to her favorite concert. Just because he was there, and loving her, a joking with her. "You might shock me so hard my heart stops. Take it slow." She teased, settling her head on his chest. She tilted her head at his words, smiling. "It doesn't sound wierd. It sounds... sweet. And I feel the same way about you. I don't know where I'd be if I hadn't met you, and I don't want to." She said lightly, gently brushing at his hair with the tips of her fingers.

Ajax was actually a little worried at how absolutely shining Mercy looked. Was there such a thing as too happy? If so, she was. Still, it made him feel like he was glowing to know that she felt happy and safe. That's all he really wanted. "Oh don't worry, I will. Don't want to lose ya now." Ajax answered jokingly, smiling down at her and thinking that everything was just perfect, right now. "Sweet? Didn't know I had the capability to sound sweet." He grinned, but looked appreciative and happy as Mercy spoke. "I DO know where I'd be if I hadn't met you. Sulking in a cave with a horrible life trying to stay away from every female that ever existed and hanging out with Goose and Rooster getting less mature by the second. So you can tell why I am so so so thrilled that I met the love of my second life so she could save me from that sad fate." Ajax joked, closing his eyes a moment and taking in a slow breath. He wished he could just freeze in this moment forever.

"Oh, don't worry. I'd kick my heart right back into gear. I couldn't let you get lonely without me." Mercy teased, returning his smile and chuckling at his next words. "Apparently, you do. And I can't say I dislike it." She teased, giggling at his joke. "I like the sound of that. The love of your second life. She must be a lucky girl- can't imagine who, though." She joked, pressing her lips to his head and closing her eyes.

"Good to know. I might just go ahead and surprise you then." Ajax chuckled, his eyes sparkling at the joke. "You don't seem to dislike ANYTHING I do lately." He teased, grinning a little at Mercy's giggle. He still didn't understand how anyone could make that noise- but he would just add it to the list of stuff he didn't get. "Oh, she is a very lucky girl. I wouldn't fall head over heels for just anyone." He joked, absent-mindedly twirling some of Mercy's hair in his finger as he thought. Hey, she was toying with his perfect hair all the time.

"I'll have to keep it in mind that I have a surprise coming my way, then." Mercy chuckled, smiling as he continued. "Would you rather I disliked it?" She joked, grinning at his next comment. "Of course. Your standards are higher than that. Do I know her?" She teased, smiling as he curled her shiny blonde hair around his finger.

"Ha! Don't worry, it'll come when you least expect it." Ajax grinned, running his free hand through his slightly wild black hair to get it out of his face. "No no no, good thing. Don't stop liking it or I'll actually have to try harder." He groaned playfully, holding back a chuckle. "Definitely higher. And you might know her I guess... she has beautiful blonde hair and the most perfect blue eyes. Overall she is quite a pretty picture, but her amazing personality outshines it all. The fact that she puts up with my antics is enough for me." Ajax smiled sweetly, clicking his tongue. "Know anyone like that?"

"I'll be prepared. Always on edge, waiting for your romantic surprise. I'll be ready, don't you worry." Mercy teased, laughing at his next comment and swatting at him playfully. "And here I was thinking this was your maximum effort." She joked, tilting her head at him as he spoke. She couldn't help but smile at his utterly adorable explanation of her- but it was too good of an opportunity. "Hmm..." She purred softly, thinking for a few moments. "Blonde hair... Blue eyes... personality. Puts up with you." She pretended to think hard on it, then lit up. "Goose?! You're in love with Goose? Then what am I?" She wailed sarcastically, tucking her head into his chest dramatically. "How could you do this to me?!" She whined half-heartedly, barely keeping a smile from her face. "I mean, do you even love me?" She teased.

Ajax lifted his brows. "You've never had a surprise from me then. No one prepares for those." He winked, yelping as he got swatted at. "Hey! I am trying!" He whined, placing a hand on his heart. "Trying REAL hard." He added. As Mercy smiled Ajax did as well, but his fell as hers turned into the same devilish grin she managed to get when she had some evil plan to tease him. As she finished he looked like he wanted to explode. "GOOSE!? Are you out of your mind? Bonkers? I said she! And her! Female pronouns!" He yelped, sounding like she had just stabbed a stake into his heart. "How could you DO THIS TO ME, Mercy!" Ajax exclaimed, falling back onto the porch to wail at the sky. "I might even die from the PAIN, THE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE PAIN! OH THE TORTURE! THE THOUGHT IS KILLING ME SLOWLY AND PAINFULLY!" He wailed, covering his face with his hands.

Mercy huffed at him, shrugging at his next comments. "Fine. I guess it counts." She muttered teasingly, laughing at his dramatic reaction. "Maybe Goose changed his pronouns! I don't know! I can't think of anyone else similiar to that." She joked, sitting up to watch him writhe on the porch like he was suffering. "And I thought I was dramatic." She huffed, rolling her eyes at him for his scene but smiling anyway. She leaned down to pull his hands away from his face, leaning down and planting a kiss firmly on his lips to stop him from going on with his acting.
