Jora raised a brow at him, a smirk tugging at the corner of her lips. “Being here, huh?” she echoed, her voice laced with amusement. She shook her head slightly, but there was warmth in her gaze as she studied him. She didn’t need a thank you—not for this. Taking care of them, of him and Lyra, was as natural as breathing. But at his next words, she let out a dramatic sigh, rolling her eyes. “Oh, so now you remember,” she teased, crossing her arms. “You doubt my word, huh? After everything?” A mock-offended huff left her lips before she turned toward the kitchen with purpose. “Alright, Sage. You’re about to have your world changed.” She glanced over her shoulder, a playful glint in her eye. “And if you don’t think it’s the best thing you’ve ever eaten, I’m dumping you.”

Sage hummed lightly with a sort of nod and shrug, chuckling when she teased him about the meal. He threw her a grin as he moved to pull his clothes on, admittedly amused by her playful jabs. "Well, I wouldn't say doubt," he noted, voice laced with amusement. "Curious, maybe. Wondering how anything could be better than the rest of the food you've made," he noted, attempting to comb through his now very matted hair with his fingers for a few moments before tossing it up into a bun. Of course, at her last comment, he just gave her a grin. "Nope, you said yes, which means you're stuck with me forever," he chirped lightly.

Jora scoffed, shaking her head as she grabbed a pot for the mac and cheese. "Flattery will only get you so far, Sage," she teased, though the corner of her mouth twitched in amusement. She wasn't immune to the compliment, but she wasn't about to let him know that. She glanced over as he struggled with his hair, watching as he finally gave up and tossed it into a bun. Her smirk deepened. "You look like you fought a tornado and lost," she remarked, clearly enjoying his minor struggle. But at his last comment, she stilled for half a second before rolling her eyes with a dramatic sigh. "Great," she muttered, feigning exasperation as she turned back to the stove. "Guess I'm stuck with a stray I picked up off the street." she teases Still, there was something undeniably fond in her tone, in the way her eyes softened when she glanced at him again. Stuck with him forever, huh? She supposed she could live with that.

Sage just gave the girl a mischievous looking grin on response to her first comment. "Well, is say it gets me where I want to be," he chirped lightly. It normally did...she could try to hide it, but he saw the way his words made her eyes light up. The way the softest smile caused her lips to twitch upwards. As long as he made her happy, he'd keep doing it. Though, at her tornado comment, he sort of wrinkled his nose at her. "Comparing you to a tornado is pretty accurate," he chuckled after a moment. Though, he rolled his eyes at her next comment, settling down on the couch but leaving the bedroom door cracked so he could hear Lyra when she woke. "Yeah, but you're the one who decided to keep this stray," he chirped lightly.

Jora snorted, shaking her head as she stirred the pot. “Yeah, yeah, keep talking,” she muttered, but the way her lips twitched betrayed her. She wasn’t about to give him the satisfaction of acknowledging it, but she knew exactly what he was doing. And damn him, it was working. At his tornado comment, she let out a sharp laugh. “Damn right I’m a tornado,” she shot back. “Fast, destructive, and impossible to get rid of.” She turned to flash him a smirk over her shoulder. “So if you’re sticking around, you better be ready for the chaos, stray.” His last remark, though, made her pause for just a second before she scoffed, focusing back on the stove. “Yeah, well,” she muttered, voice a little quieter, “guess I don’t regret it too much.” Not that she’d ever admit that outright.

Sage chuckled softly, a self satisfied grin forming on his lips as she muttered back at him. He knew full well his flirting and small comments, as cheesy as some of them may be, worked as well as he wanted them to. They definitely got under her skin....though not in a bad way, of course. He hummed lightly when she mentioned a tornado, and nodded along in agreement, plopping down on a kitchen chair and resting his arms on the table there, then his head on his arms. "I suppose I can deal with that," he noted lightly. He settled down a bit then, just watching her move around the kitchen happily. He wasn't sure where Selene was...but that was ok.
