Jora smirked at his response, shaking her head as she leaned against the doorframe. "Half alive, huh? That explains a lot," she teased, watching as he flicked his hair back dramatically before disappearing behind the curtain again. She snorted at his next comment. "You’d find a way," she muttered. "Either that or you’d slip and crack your skull open." Honestly, she wouldn’t put it past him. She gave him a look when he finally stepped out, warm and relaxed but clearly worn down. He was pushing himself too much again—she could see it in the way he moved, in the way he flopped onto the couch as soon as he had the chance. Jora let him be, though, just watching as he halfheartedly brushed his hair before giving up entirely. With a sigh, she walked over and plucked the brush off the couch. "Here," she muttered, sliding onto the cushions behind him. Without waiting for permission, she started working through the tangles, a little gentler than she normally would’ve been. She felt him relax under her touch, his shoulders losing some of that tension. "You’ve gotta stop overdoing it," she murmured after a moment, not accusing, just… *concerned.* "I know you don’t like sitting still, but you’re still recovering, Sage." She paused, then smirked. "And if you get yourself hurt again, *I’m* not dragging your sorry ass inside. I mean it this time." |

Sage had just chuckled somewhat sheepishly in response to her comments, shifting slightly as she settled down next to him on the couch, allowing her to work at his hair. He couldn't care less about whether or not it was fully brushed out....but he did like it when she did it. He could admit that. There was something relaxing about it. Something that showed her love for him. That she wanted to love him, and to let her do it. So, he just relaxed under her touch, wrinkling his nose slightly as she spoke. "I didn't expect simple garden work to take that much energy," he admitted with a sort of groan. "It was fun. Relaxing at the time. I guess I just used all my brain power." It wasn't necessarily physically taxing, but he was tired. Either way, he'd wound up with a nice warm shower and Jora seated there with him, touch gentle and voice light. Once she was done, he sort of just settled against her with a content sigh, flopping over so his head was in her lap. His hair was mostly dry, since if he didn't blow dry it a bit it would get water all over his clothes and probably the couch, so it wasn't like he was getting her all wet. She probably appreciated that one. Though, her last comment pulled a chuckle from his lips. "Oh come on, I'm not even that heavy," he snickered, really just happy to mess around a little bit. |

Jora rolled her eyes, setting the brush aside and letting her fingers idly comb through his now-smooth hair. "I don’t care how heavy you are," she muttered, though there was no real bite to her words. "I’m not dealing with you passing out in the dirt because you don’t know when to take it easy." She let out a small huff as he flopped into her lap, but she didn’t push him away. Instead, she shifted slightly to get comfortable, her hand naturally coming to rest on his shoulder. "You’re impossible," she murmured, but her tone was fond. She knew him well enough by now—he wouldn’t admit outright when he was exhausted, but little things like this made it obvious. Her fingers absentmindedly traced over his shoulder, down his arm, just enjoying the warmth of him there. It was rare for Sage to be this still, this quiet, and she wasn’t about to complain. "You’re lucky I like you," she muttered after a pause, her voice softer now. "Otherwise, I’d have kicked you back out to the garden by now." |

Sage sort of just chuckled in response to her comment, shaking his head slightly as she spoke. "Well then I'll just have to bother Selene," he huffed, though it was clear he was just teasing. He knew if he really needed help, either one of them would be glad to help him ...though Jora might never admit it. It was an amusing thought though, he could admit that. He felt a sort of smile curve his lips upwards when she settled in with him. He supposed it had been a while since they'd been able to just be together, in their home, and relax. Before they'd been at the doctors and selenes, and they were working through things. They had a new baby and stuff like that. It was just....a lot. So it was nice to just lay there with her for a while. He hummed softly as she continued to mock complain, shrugging slightly and giving her a sort of grin. "You're the one who fell in love with me," he noted cheekily. "Awe, you'd kick me out of the house," he huffed, clearly playing around. "And I thought you loved me," he added with a sort of mock pout, though couldn't keep that face up for very long. |

Jora scoffed, rolling her eyes even as a smirk tugged at the corners of her lips. “I do love you. That’s why I haven’t thrown you out yet,” she teased, fingers idly threading through his hair. “But if you’re going to keep acting like a brat, I might have to reconsider.” She was comfortable like this, more than she had been in a while. Just the two of them, no chaos, no stress—just the quiet warmth of home. And, of course, Sage being an absolute menace, as always. At his mock pout, she let out a soft chuckle, tapping his forehead lightly with her fingers. “Don’t try that face on me,” she murmured. “You know I’m immune to it by now.” That was a lie, and they both knew it, but she wasn’t about to admit that out loud. With a small sigh, she let her hand drift from his hair to rest against his chest, feeling the steady rise and fall of his breathing. “You tired?” she asked, her voice quieter now, softer. “You’ve been pushing yourself all day.” |

Sage jsut gave her a grin in resposne to her comments, a soft chuckle moving past his lips. "Reconsider? In order to do that you'd have to wave down a ship and send me off somewhere I'd never find the island again," he mused. "Which would be rather difficult since I can pretty much always tell where I'm at on the ocean," he pointed out, grin becoming slightly more mischevious as he spoke. Though, when she tapped his forehead, he sort of crossed his eyes to watch her finger, laughing softly when he realized how rediculous he probably looked doing that. When her hand moved down to his chest, he moved to clasp his own fingers around it gently, a soft sigh rising in his chest. "A little bit," he hummed quietly. "Nothing a little bit of rest won't fix," he added. He wasn't super tired physically....he was just very ready for a break, he supposed. He wasn't sure if that really made sense or not, but laying around for a bit seemed like a good idea, at least for now. |

Jora huffed, shaking her head at his antics. “You are way too smug for your own good,” she muttered, though the corners of her lips twitched in amusement. He wasn’t wrong—there wasn’t really a way to get rid of him, not that she’d ever want to. Even if she did, he’d probably just wash up on shore again like a particularly stubborn piece of driftwood. As his fingers curled around hers, she felt some of the lingering tension in her shoulders ease. He was here. He was safe. That was all that mattered. “Good,” she murmured in response to his comment about rest. “Because I’m not carrying your ass to bed if you pass out here.” She squeezed his hand lightly, settling more comfortably against him. “Just don’t get too cozy, or we’re never making it off this couch,” she added, though her voice had lost most of its teasing edge. She could already feel the warmth of him, the steady rhythm of his breathing, and it was dangerously tempting to just stay there for the rest of the day. |
