The woman sort of stared at Sage, not sure what to do with herself. Could he hear her? Did he know she was there? He was so still. So quiet. It was stange... she didn't think he'd ever seen him so still. She wondered if she'd have to tell the children that Daddy was out of action or that he might not be the same again. What would she say? He's tired? That wouldn't fly. She sighed gently to him after a moment before going to sit on the side of the bed, her hand running gently running through his hair... she did that a lot. Though, now, she wasn't sure if it was for him as much as it was for her.

Sage wasn't aware of much after that, but when Mari sat down next to him and ran her fingers through his hair, he subconsciously moved his head slightly, moving closer to her warmth. And her comfort, he supposed. He wasn't conscious, of course, but everything leading up to it all had admittedly been kind of scary. The doctor came in after a while, just checking over sage quickly before shooting some more steroids into the iv connected to the man's arm. "The kids will be entertained for a while ...don't worry about them yet," he murmured to Mari softly before padding out again. It was like that for a while...though sage stirred slightly around two am the next morning. He wasn't awake yet, persay, but he was getting there. Now it was more of a light sleep than a coma, which the doctor took as a very good sign.

The woman gave a little nod to the doctor when he came in. Sage had moved slightly... that had to be a good thing, right? Well, it couldn't have been a bad thing. She left for a bit, going to leave the kids with their grandmother for a little while. They didn't need to be worried about their dad... not yet, anyway. She went back to the castle though, and eventually found herself nodding off in the chair next to Sages bed... she didn't want to leave just incase but... she definately was nervous about the whole thing.

Sage stayed that way for a while, but around noon the next day he stirred a bit more, opening his eyes slightly. His hand ventured up to the tube in his mouth, obviously ratehr confused as to what was going on, but smart enough to know he shouldn't try to talk in this thing was in him. He looked around with blurry vision, obviously still tired and not feelign too great. But he was awake. He wondered how long it had been since he'd passed out. It was earlier in the day than when they'd gotten to the castle, so it had been at least a dya. He knew that much. It took a while to figure out though, and by then he was so tired again he sort of started to half drift off again. He doubted he'd be up for long...but at least he was up for a minute.

The woman sort of sat there quietly for a little while, not sleeping but just... resting she supposed. Sage had been moving a little, which had to be a good thing... well, it couldn't have been a bad thing, now could it? She made no move to get up though. She'd done it the first few times, and she was always disappointed when he didn't wake up. She sighed softly before sort of closing her eyes. She'd know when he was up, hopefully.

Sage slept through the rest of the day, and into the night, obviously. He woke again around 4 in the morning, this time a little bit more alert. He was still in the doctors ward....and by now he could recall enough to know that whatever was on his mouth was because of the cough. Mari was asleep though, so he didn't want to ask her questions. Well, he couldn't ask anything, but he was curious about what had happened. He would ask later though. For now he just moved to entwine his fingers with the hand of Maris that was on the bed and easiest to reach.

The woman eventually found herself falling asleep. She was worrying about... everything. Sage had been through so much in his short life, so much that should have killed him... so much that should have broken him beyond repair, but it hadn't. She was so worried that this would be it for him. She didn't know why... he had been through so much, but he wasn't invincible. Right now, anything as much as a cold could ultimately end him. She woke up about seven the next morning, finding her hand lightly entwined with his. He had to be feeling better... just a little, maybe. That was a good thing. A heavy breath escaped her, maybe one of relief as she sort of collapsed onto his chest. Of course, she was careful not to harm him further, but she was definitely relieved.

Sage had gone back to sleep eventually, since he was still just exceptionally tired, and didn't feel super great. But, the doctor had come in around six or so to push more steroids into the IV and add some pain meds too, since he had needed to open the boy up, and it certainly wouldn't feel nice without any medication. But, since those had kicked in soon enough, when sage woke a bit later, he felt as good as he could in that instance. Upon finding Mari passed out of his chest, a tired smile formed on his face and he moved to sort of finger her hair gently, not wanting to wake her if she was asleep. He supposed she'd be worried....which he did sort of feel bad about. He glanced around the room after a moment, trying to figure out what he could.

The woman layed there for a while... a long while. She loved this man more than words could say, and she couldn't worry about him any more as of then, but the relief was so much more at any sense of of hope for him. She wouldn't cry for him, not now, but she was definately on the verge of it. She let out a soft breath as she slipped off to sleep, certainly not meaning to... but it felt good. Just sleeping. Relaxing there. She could hear his heart pumping away, and the soft rise and fall of his chest was a comfort of sorts. She wondered what he was thinking... was he as scared as she was? Was he even thinking at all? She didn't know even a little bit. She sort of sarted to wake up after a little while, the soft movement on her head just lulling her even more.

Sage was more than fine with just resting there, Mari resting lightly on his chest. He had noticed the stitches, and the spot they were in, so he had a pretty decent idea of what the doctor had needed to do...but it didn't hurt much, and Mari wasn't touching the area which meant she knew it was there, so he wasn't worried about it. When she sort of stared to wake, a tired smile sort of curved on his face and his fingers tightened slightly on her hand, rather anxious to find out what exactly had happened. he didn't want to wake her, but he was curious. And if she was here, where were the kids? Were they ok? Who was taking care of them? He wanted to know.
