The woman sort of moved to brin Sage his dinner after a little while. She sighed softly when she noticed he was asleep, and just sort of moved to sit down next to him, her hand running gently through his hair. "Sage hun," she murmured softly. "You need to eat," she hummed softly to her husband, gently patting his side. She knew he'd be tired... but he did need to eat something.

Sage sort of shifted when Mari woke him, and he rolled over slightly to peer up at her groggily, his brain working to try and figure out what she wanted. Though, he soon enough realized he'd drifted off while he was waiting for food, and he ran a hand over his face with a tired sigh. He moved to sort of sit up and lean against the headboard of the bed, after muttering a curse at the fact that he'd fallen asleep before taking the food and pecking Mari on the cheek in a sort of sleepy thanks. He was hungry though, so he got through most of the salad before flopping over and passing out again rather quickly.

The woman gave a small smile at his little curse, assuring him it was fine before flopping down on the bed. "Just get some rest when you're done. We can head off home tomorrow if you'd like," she hummed gently to him. He looked comfy, though... fresh, warmed clothes after a lovely shower and now he could just conk out and sleep... he should be pretty comfortable. And soon, they could head off home. Hopefully, anyway. She hoped he'd be better soon. He didn't want to sit there all day, and they did need the money from the horses... they'd survive, though. She hoped so, anyway.

Sage sort of grunted in response to Mari through mouthful of food. He was honestly still half asleep, now that he was showered and comfortable. And once he was full, he moved to just pull his hair back into a sort of very messy bun, since he wasn't trying too hard he just wanted it off of his face while he slept, before passing out again. He had barely even registered what Mari had said, but the word home did resonate in his head, so he figured he'd caught enough of their conversation to figure out what she'd said.

The woman gave a small smile when the man finally drifted off. He just looked so exhausted. She wondered how long it would actually take for him to get better. He was so... dull when he was like this. She wasn't the most joyful, either. She wished she could be more up beat for him... she'd have to try a little harder. She took the bowls and plates off him after a moment, wandering down to the kitchen to clear up before going to see if the doctor had anything he needed doing... when he confirmed he didn't, she gave a small smile before wandering off to settle down and sleep.

Sage slept rather well, as he'd been doing for a while now. He supposed that came with the whole getting healthy again thing. Though, he seemed to be taking forever to heal. He knew it was normal for this sort of operation and all....but he did wish it would hurry up a bit so he could get back to working. He woke up around ten or so the next morning, and when he did, he peered over at the clock before sighing and just moving to bury his head into Maris chest with a sort of groan. He really did hate having to wake up....why could life just go from a deep sleep to wide awake and ready to take on life right away? It was a slightly amusing thought...at least, it would be once he was wide awake.

The woman slept most of the night... she suppose she just slept most of the time now. She gave a soft groan when she felt Sage move, though instinctively moved to wrap her arm around his shoulders and place a hand on the back of his head. She was tired... she didn't know why. She'd barely done anything. She gave a small sigh, though, and sort of moved to settle back down again. She didn't want to wake up yet. If she woke up properly, she'd have to actually get up and do something... and she didn't want to do that at all.

Sage didn't move when Mari shifted closer into him, trusting her not to press too tightly against the stitches. She knew better than that, even half asleep. Plus....he didn't exactly feel like jerking away anyway, even if he'd have had the energy. He was comfortable where he was at. Though, may e an hour later, he decided he just really had to use the bathroom, so he rolled onto his back with a groan, looking over at Mari with a sigh. He hated to wake her but..if he tried walking to the bathroom without her she'd chew his head off. So, he sighed and hissed her name, giving her an apologetic smile when she opened her eyes. "I gotta pee," he mused when she looked at him. "Help me to the bathroom?" Edited at May 30, 2024 04:05 PM by NightClan

When the man started to shift, she sort of flopped her arms down next to him. Though, she just sort of stared at him when he woke her up. She blinked for a few moments before nodding tiredly, sliding out of bed and offering him her hands. They sort of waddled into the bathroom, where Mari let him go and she just sort of flopped on the floor, very much still half asleep. He was awake earlier than normal, though... which meant he'd actually gotten a good nights sleep for once. She could be happy about that, she supposed.

Sage did feel sort of bad about waking her up, but the other two options were to pee while he was laying there, which would mean more work for the two of them and much more embarrassment on his end, or to try and get to the bathroom himself, which would mean Mari would kill him before any of his body got the chance or he'd fall over and bust his chest open and bleed out in the hallway. So, he figured this was the best option. Soon enough though, he'd done what he needed to do, and used the door to guide him out of the door until Mari got off the floor and they wandered back to bed. He flopped back down again, opening his arms for Mari to also get back into the blankets and such, and then passed out again pretty much right away once they'd made themselves comfortable.
