The woman sort of shook her head at his little smile, moving to peck his lips sweetly. She sort of cocked her head at him when he asked what she'd tolled the family. She hadn't told them much other than Sage wasn't well. But they were in a rush, and she just wanted to drop the kids off and get back to Sage, especially after the surgery. "Not much, I'm afraid. I told them you needed to stay in the ward for a while, and that you weren't working for the last few days. I didn't say much else to be honest," she shrugged softly to him. She then sort of furrowed her brows at him and gave him a small squeeze. "Aw, handsome man, don't worry about that. I'll make sure you've got food around that you can pick at ai you don't need to start rationing," she promised him gently.

Sage sort of just hummed happily in response to her kiss, his smile turning into just...a normal smile, he supposed. The same goofy one he got anytime she kissed him. Though, when she said she hadn't told them much, he nodded with a shrug. "I don't know when you even found time to drop the kids off," he admitted. "I thought maybe the doctor brought them over or something," he mused in thought. At her comment about the food, he simply laughed and pecked her cheek lightly. "I know," he chirped. "It was just an amusing few seconds,," he added with a chuckle.

The woman gave a small sigh before moving to rest her head softly on his shoulder. "I find time for everything," she mused softly to him before settling down. "The kids are easy. We can get anywhere easily," she mused softly to him. She then gave a small chuckle. "We don't want you hiding your food from everyone." She mused lightly. "I'll make sure you have a bit platter of food for you to pick at," she chuckled softly to him.

Sage hummed lightly in response to her comment, nodding happily. "You're a superhuman," he noted with a chuckle. "I really don't know how you do it sometimes," he chuckled. Though, when she said she'd make sure he had plenty of food, he simply pecked her cheek and curled up against her side happily. "I know," he hummed lightly.

The woman gave a little chuckle before nodding gently. "Not quite, I don't think," the woman mused, sort it just getting comfortable when he curled up into her side. She sort of chuckle gently, patting his head gently. "Why don't you just get some rest before we head back. We need to get the kids, too," she advised gently, really just wanting him to relax a little before things got busy again.

Sage sort of rolled his eyes when she denied the fact that she was superhuman, and he pecked her cheek with a sort of chuckle. "No, I think you are," he protested. "You have to be to wrangle the kids plus me," he noted with a twinkle in his eyes. Though, at her next comment, he realized he was rather tired again, so he sort of just nestled down into the blankets happily with a nod. "I'm sure your mom wants to know what happened too," he noted with a yawn. "I don't mind staying for a bit once we're there." Edited at May 31, 2024 03:13 PM by NightClan

The woman gave a small snicker, kind of patting his head. "Oh, please, the kids are the easy part. You, though, you are hard to wrangle," she mused gently to him before letting out a heavy breath. The idea did amuse her, though. Mari was fairly mild mannered, while Save was a bit more fiery. The kids had a very happy medium. Well, they were very different in personality, but both were very easy to get on with, which helped loads. She then gave a little nod to him. "She's gonna want to find out anyway... she likes you, we can't just let her believe you're dying," she mused lightly to him, sort of moving to wrap her arms around him snuggly. "We can get some tea or something while we're there," she murmured gently to him.

Sage chuckled when the woman mentioned that the kids were the easy part. "I don't know about easy," he mused. "At least, not when they were younger." They'd both calmed down slightly as they'd aged, and while they still required a lot of time and energy to care for, it wasn't the whole up all night crying stuff from when they were you get any more. "Good to know you love me so much," he teased her lightly before nodding when she said Edith would want to know what was happening with him. "Yeah," he mused. "I'm sure she's been worried," he added. He nodded lightly when she said they could get tea, grinning up at her with a yawn. "Good, your mom makes the best tea," he chuckled, before pretty much passing out again.

The woman nodded in agreement, sort of moving to peck his head. "Even then, you were still worse than them," she mused, obviously just teasing, though she lowered her voice to let him relax a little bit. She gave a little grin. "I love you so, so much," she hummed gently to him, sort of watching him slowly drift off. She did love watching him... it wasn't in a strange way or anything, but he just looked so calm. Her mother had loved him from the very start, so she was definitely worried about the boy. Plus, he was right in thinking she made good tea.

Sage had chuckled slightly in response to maris comment, grinning up at the girl sleepily, humming "I love you too" back at the girl before he'd fallen asleep. It was nice to rest before they left....he hadn't realized how tired he'd gotten just eating and drawing something without a rest. And it wasn't even completely done, either. Oh well....he could finish later. He'd have plenty of time. He woke up soon enough, sort of laying around for a few more minutes before glancing over at Mari when she entered the room again, smiling softly.
