The woman gave a little gasp, her face contorting a little at his comment. She thought he was handsome, she always would, but they could tease as much as they wanted. "I'm so jealous. That's actually the only reason I'm still with you. You're just so handsome, and while I can't deal with you grumpy attitude I can look at you're pretty face all day," she mused, though her expression dropped a little at his next comment. She knew he wouldn't be around forever... he knew that too, but she hated to think about it. In her mind, he'd be there forever with her. She cocked her head at him with a little pout. "I know that babe... we'll figure it out. We were too close for comfort this time and we needed to figure it all out," she huffed softly.

Sage had chuckled halfheartedly in response to her comment, but by then his mind had moved on to more serious things. It was a bit depressing, sure, but it needed to be talked about. "I know," he mused softly. "But the sooner we get it taken care of the more comfortable I'll be with the whole thing," he admitted softly. (Short I gotta run)

(No worries!) The woman glanced down at him, running her hands softly though his hair as she thought about it. It was definitely something they needed to sort out, she knew that... but she was so nervous about it. She didn't like thinking about it at all. "...I suppose we'd go back to living in the castle for a little while to save money. Rent the house out, hopefully by then Silas would be old enough to work the yard and I'd work for the queen again," she murmured gently to him.

Sage peered up at the girl, patting her leg gently after a moment, nodding slightly with a sigh. "I'd prefer it if you could stay in the house," he admitted softly, cocking his head slightly as he thought. "If Silas is old enough to work the yard, that would be best," he admitted. The boy loved the horses, so no doubt he wouldn't have any issues taking over. But still ....he just wanted them to have a good life after he was gone. "Why don't we just work at putting money aside for that as we go," he thought out loud after a moment. "Hopefully we can get you guys well off," he added.

The woman sort of furrowed her brows at him a little. "Sage, we wouldn't be giving it up, rather making money from it until we've got a bit more," she promised him softly before giving a little smile. "Well, lets start doing that then. But once you're better. Right now we need everything we've got," she them added after a moment or two. She let out a heavy breath before flopping her head back on the head board. "I think right now we just work with what we have. We have a rough idea of how things would go," she mentioned as she looked down at him.

Sage sort of sighed slightly and nodded in response to her first, comment, humming out another "I know," before shrugging his shoulders. "I just don't know how all that moving would affect the kids or the animals," he admitted, brows pinching slightly. Though, at her next comments, he nodded and then groaned when she mentioned getting him better. "I can't get you to just forget about rehab completely, can I," he joked lightly, moving to sit up with a grunt so he could peck her lips lightly. "I'm not going anywhere for a while yet, don't you worry your pretty little face about it too much," he added with a sort of grin. "For starters, how about we gete downstairs so I can say hi to the kids, yeah," he chirped happily.

The woman sort of shrugged at his next comment, not really sure how to reply... this house was all the kids had known, but they'd be older then... and they'd probably handle it better. She hated the idea of Sage leaving them like that. It'd happen, she knew it would and so did he, but she didn't want it to. She sort of caught herself staring at him as she thought about it... not getting to see him every day would break her. And the kids too, for that matter... and the doctor, and Anya, and the rest of her family. They'd all be so lost. She sort of cocked her head at his next comment before shaking her head. "You're not getting out of it, no," she mused, his little comment and kiss making a big grin cross her face. "Well, I can't help but be worried when you're close to death every other day," she mused gently. She then gave a little nod and moved to help him stand up, then sort of walked infront of him so he could have a go by himself.

Sage knew the conversation wasn't exactly the one either of them wanted to hear first thing in the morning, but it did worry him. He very well could have left them when he'd stopped breathing. If he hadn't been at the doctor's right then, he probably would have. And it was scary to think what might have happened to them if that's how it had played out. But, he was healing, and he'd made up his mind to work extra hard once he could, and make that extra money for them. When Mari helped him up and then let go, a nervous look crossed his face, as there was nothign to lean on between him and the door once he left the bedside. But, he did need to get back to it so...he eventually forced himself to take a step, and then another, pausing before heasitantly moving out of reach of the bed, and then taking a few more steps before a knee sort of half buckled. Mari had steadied him again almost before he got scared about it, and he gave her a grateful look, leaning heavily against her before working up the courage to take another step. She helped him the rest of the way down to the couch, which he was grateful for, and collapsed onto it, out of breath.

The woman helped him willingly, not at all enjoying seeing him suffer but it did have to be done. She sort of walked backwards down the stairs, more than ready to catch him if he needed it... and he sort of did a couple of times. They got to the couch after about ten minutes though, and she helped settled him down before moving to peck his lips and gave an encouraging smile. "Well done hun," she hummed gently to him before patting his shoulder. She called the kids through after he'd gotten his breath back, and flashed a big grin on him before going greet Anthony before he started working, then came back in to plop down next to Sage.

Sage had rather hoped he could have at least gotten to the door...which obviously hadn't happened. He supposed he'd gotten lucky that there were things he could lean on to get to the bathroom that morning. He offered Mari a smile once she got him settled on the couch, nodding along with it in response to her comment. Though, once she'd tunred to go get the kids, the smile had fell and he;d flopped his head back against the headboard part of the couch with a sigh. He knew it wouls take a while for him to get back to normal, but this was honestly just embarrassing. He could barely walk a few steps by himself, and he absolutley hated it. He'd gotten much more comfortable with it all around Mari, of course, but....the whole thing wasn't really helping his mindset. Or the worry that he wouldn't be able to work after this.
