Makena sat down beside Maverick and sighed. "I'm assuming you've told your friends? Or at least one friend?"
"No. I dont tell people these things,i dont want people to feel sorry for me" he said but didnt move away from her
Makena smiled, "Why'd you tell me then?" She asked, her eyes full of curiosity once again.
"Because you can only keep something like this to yourself for so long before it feels like your head is about to explode" Mav let his gaurd down and began shuddering "its terrifying...i wake up screaming and then get new scars for being too loud"
Makena sighed, her gaze low, "I know how you feel, about the whole head explosion..." She mumbled, hoping Maverick didn't actually hear her.
"Why do you feel like that?" Maverick asked, even if she was rich..that didnt make her imune to pain

"When I was younger, I wished to find the perfect boy. My dream crush-" Makena explained, laughing a bit, "And when me and Travis met, I thought he was the one. But after awhile, I saw some red flags in him, that I didn't like. But I kept telling myself, he's the one. Then, after a while, I realized he was just a jerk, and tried to dump him." Makena paused, and her eyes started to tear up. "H-he threatened me, but I didn't listen to him. As I walked out, he told me if he can't have me, no one will. And ever since then, he's built up my reputation to be a cheater, liar, and a stuck-up rich girl." Makena finally finished, tears running down her face. "Its not near as bad as your problem.." She added, wiping her eyes.

"Hes a mentally abusive bastard and just because there isnt physical pain doesnt mean it isnt still terrible,Makena do you know that the brain processes cruel words exactly like it does with a punch, its not easy either way,and if he bothers you again im always here" he shrugged, when he wanted Maverick could be quite nice, with that he stood and walked out leaving Makena to her thoughts,he had had enough emotions for that day

Makena pursed her lips, deep in thought as Maverick walked away. She kind of felt better now, just the thought of Maverick being there for her whenever Travis felt like pissing her off. Her thoughts slowed, and she brought herself to her feet, and walked down the hall, and towards the nurse's office. She wasn't there often, but when she was, she loved it. Nurse Ashley was always nice, and sometimes gave away free chocolate candy bars.
