(Not the stabbing part- yet. His father used to pull on the hair on the back of his neck, and now whenever you touch the back of his neck he yelps and jerks away. Quite hilarious. Most of the time he'll just try not to grin and whack me, but one of the first times I did it he was holding a fork, and I'm lucky to be alive xD)

Leo sighed slightly at her words, his slightly haunted eyes portraying that it may not always go the way he wanted, either. However hard he tried to turn the cloud into mostly silver lining, he just seemed to make it darker. Images of his latest terrors that lived in his subconsciousness flitted into his mind, growing vivid and bright as they flashed, almost seeming to mock him. However hard he tried, he could never shut it out, never get it to end. Everything was an eternal nightmare and there was no escape. He went from this painful dimension straight into another. The only thing that would make him confidentially say he loved being awake so much more was the fact Glory was alive and okay every time he woke up. "Yep. Awesome." He nodded. "I am obviously awesome- I mean, like, any other person you've met that can easily reply to your cunning remarks with one's of his own?" He flashed a smile. "See? Awesome." He repeated, sounding very certain in his words.
Leo had many, many, many more things to say, things that could try and cheer even the most depressed soul up, things that most likely had NEVER been said to Glory before, and he had no qualms about overloading her mind with praise, but he needed to leave room for her to answer. Or results to happen. One or the other. There was no shortage of compliments that he could give her. If he was wallowing as the worst demon in hell, then she was shining as an angel in heaven. Anything he could do, she could do better, and even if he tried, he could not think up a single thing to truly insult her about. He was full of flaws, but in his eyes, she was the standard of perfection. He really wouldn't want her to change. Wouldn't want her any other way. His heart internally melted into another puddle of goo- for, like, the fourth time that day- and he wondered if it would ever start again this time, as she spoke. He had longed to hear those words from her, ever since he first realized how much he cared about her. Of course, he knew he didn't deserve her, and he had stuffed down those feelings- but he couldn't help feeling overly joyful at just hearing those three words. Although he was the slightest bit stuck on that, he did manage to remember theh were talking about Glory. Not his own messed up emotions. "That will blind life. You then steal life's wallet, assume life's identity, now you are life and hold dominion over all." He finished his part of the quote, smiling faintly. "She would've been EXTREMELY proud of Frogmageddon. Any parent would." As soon as he said it, his mind immediately screamed 'yours wouldn't'. Which was true. His father would whoop his ass for wasting time, and his mother would maybe give a scoff before downing some more whiskey. "Self worth comes from within, so can you please promise me you'll at least start trying to think of yourself as valuable? I know I do, now you need to give it a go. You meant so much to your mother, and you mean so much to me- try to mean a little to yourself." He said quietly, watching her for a moment. The only unfair thing about what he was asking was that he could never do the same in return. He wondered how he even knew what love WAS, considering he hadn't truly felt it since... now. He could never care about himself- nobody else ever had, so he didn't know how.

Glory didn't particularly like the look in his eyes, the one that said sleeping was just as bad for him as it was for her. Generally, she used her nightmares as fuel and inspiration for her twisted illusions, though whether it helped or made it worse, she couldn't tell. Sleep was torture, life was dangerous, and death was going to be far, far worse, so Glory'd take her chances with life. At least then she had some of the few small joys of being alive, one of which was, funnily enough, snow. Something as simple as the blank white expanse after heavy snow was enough to distract Glory from the pains of living long enough to forget - somewhat - everything that was wrong. It was a blank canvas, and on the worst days, looked especially pretty with bright red blood splattered over it. "Alright, fine, you're awesome," She relented with a grin.
To Glory, she was made up entirely of flaws and issues, like poorly made glass. So fragile, yet no reason to be preserved. However, that was what happened when one stared at a drawing or painting too long; you see only flaws. 19 was more than long enough for that- she needed a fresh perspective. She grinned as he finished the quote with his own version and said, "Hers was more like 'Kick Life while she's down, steal her clothes, cheat on her husband, get her fired from her job, and leave Life's life in ruins the way she did to you." Rather harsh toward Life, but when was life ever nice? Life gave you lemons in the first place, after all. Although, Glory definitely got a few details wrong, as it'd been so long since she'd heard her mother say it. Too long. She snorted and shook her head, saying, "My mother would've, but my father definitely would not. I cause wayyyy too many problems for him to appreciate any." While Glory didn't deserve her treatment as a child, part of her didn't blame her father entirely, as she'd been quite the menace, switching salt and sugar, unscrewing the legs of chairs juuuusst enough to where they stayed upright until you sat on it, then it fell apart beautifully. At least, Glory thought so, though she was alone in that belief. She paused for a few seconds at his words; it was just about the exact opposite of what she'd been told most of her life, which included 'The only money I should waste on you is the cost of a bullet', never anything remotely close to what Leo'd said, though it felt nice. "Alright, I'll try. I promise," She agreed, though she was doing it more for him than for herself. She didn't know if she would ever matter to herself, but she'd do just about anything Leo asked of her.

Leo definitely had to reiterate in his thoughts that he loved life more than sleep. Or death, really. Sure, it would be an actual release, but most likely it would also be extremely painful and slow. Sleep was like a caged nightmare he could never get out of, and life was mostly just pain and suffering. Glory was the only thing that could fix life. Being awake. The only time he remembered truly enjoying life when Glory wasn't there was when he was sitting atop a snowy mountain, staring out at the sunset over a wide lake in a valley surrounded by more mountains. The clouds ahead stretched above his head, the pink and orange glow making him feel like it was a gateway to heaven. He really felt at peace in that moment. He had wanted to be alive. That moment ended as soon as he trekked down off the mountain, just to get attacked by a Corrupted scout. Life was cruel. Whatever it gave, it took four times as much away. That's why he was so scared to have Glory. There was nothing else to take away.. only her. She was the only thing that mattered anymore. Which meant she was the thing in risk of being taken away from him. Hurt. Killed. Even thinking about sleep just made him spiral back to the shadowing thoughts that lurked around his mind.
"Awww thanks! I kind of knew it, but hearing you admit it makes me feel so much better." He grinned widely, part of that being a total lie. On the outside, sure, he thought he was awesome. Actually? Pfft. Don't even ask. "Cheat on her husband- I almost feel bad for life. Still, makes sense." He snorted. Absolute sarcasm. He would never feel bad for life. It had taken everything from him. "Eh, 1/2 is still halfway approved. Better than nothing." He answered. For him, he never got halfway, so when he did- cough cough, NEVER- he wanted to cherish it. His father had managed to do less than nothing when they had inflicted on him- now any pain he felt was amplified by two, just because some of that overwhelming power lingered inside of him. He had made a vow never to use his power to extrapolate the inflictor power... it was too strong, too violent, and too unstable to ever be let free. Leo could always feel it, broiling deep in a pit inside of him, clawing and screaming to be let out. It was partially the reason he was such a terrible kid after he left his father and before he found Libodon. It seemed to take over his emotions and make him feel an insurmountable anger that overwhelmed all his other senses. Thankfully, now, he could deal with it, stuff it down, forget about it momentarily... but he would never escape the pain and sheer terror and anger it caused.
"Danke." He answered quietly, sitting there for another half second before a slightly sad smile flitted onto his face. "Well, I think you achieved the goal of your game. There ain't no way in hell I'm sleeping for a long time." He commented with a soft snort. That was very, very true. Then again, he didn't really want to fall asleep. Not lately.

"Only kind of?" Glory teased. To her, Leo was pretty much perfect - he wasn't the one that drove people to insanity just because they pissed him off. Yeahhh, maybe Glory should never be in charge of young, impressionable children. They'll end up telling people to cuir socias ann, or at least, a whole herd of them will, not just the 2 or 3 she'd taught to phrase. "No no no, there's 2 things you're not allowed to do: apologize to me, and feel bad for life," She said. Life didn't deserve the slightest bit of pity, nor did Glory want Leo to be apologetic about anything. He'd never have any reason to be sorry towards her. 'My bad' was acceptable, 'I'm sorry' was not. "Fair enough. I did actually put frogs in the cupboards once, he was NOT happy," She said with a wry smile. It was beautiful - he'd gone to open the cabinet door and frogs jumped out on his face. It was the start of her plotting for Frogmageddon almost a decade later, which had been even better than Froggoard. The only mistakes she'd made were 1) Not putting enough frogs and 2) Being too close when the door opened, and frogs came out. That she got a whooping for, though it was almost worth it just to see the look on her father's face. "S’ e do bheatha," She replied, pronouncing it as 'She doh veh-huh', meaning 'you're welcome'. She sighed slightly and said, "Wasn't worth it though." Then she glanced down at the cookie jar still on the floor and said, "I don't want to sleep either. You up for a trip to the kitchen?" On nights when she really couldn't sleep, she'd usually wander the corridors until she was too tired to walk in a straight line. Or go to what she called her Hidey Hole in what was essentially a basement of the castle and sit in utter silent darkness. Fun times.

"Hm, not like you to try and boost my already ginormous ego. You feeling alright?" Leo asked with a scoff, though he couldn't help his lips curling up into a forbidden small smile. "I can't stop apologizing, because a lot of the things I do warrant much more than an apology, so it's the least I can do. You said it yourself, I am splendid at asshattery. To respond to the latter... I would never actually feel bad for life. Believe me, we've both been served bad hands when it comes to that." His voice held the slightest bit of a sour tone at the last part as he was reminded of all the bad in his life. Seemed void of good, until Glory. "I can only imagine the look on his face." Leo snorted quietly. Not true, as he could probably imagine the anger. "I'm always up for a trip to the kitchen." He answered cheerfully, standing up. Mori obviously didn't want to get left behind, as she scrambled up his leg, then back, and finally onto his shoulder. It almost seemed like she had grown since 3 hours ago- she was heavier now, for sure. With a slight huff, Leo watched her curl up out of the corner of his eye, like a bird perched on a wooden beam. So now he was a nesting sight for fluffy velociraptors. Splendid. He went to the door and waited for Glory, then opened it for her, instinctively as always, going through after her and making sure it shut quietly. Also an instinct, as he never wanted to be heard. Whats the point of being able to walk quietly if you walked around slamming doors. His father had ruined him in many ways, but he guessed that at least he got something out of it. Basic manners and amazing stealth. Whoopee. Then again, the stealth part probably was something to boast about. Not many people could say they were taller than most doorways and weighed more than a muscle builder but could still stride through hallways without making a single sound. Or even being noticed. It was a skill not many people had.

"Umm, yes and no?" Glory answered. She felt better than ever, yet a mental tiredness was trying to slip in. That's what she got for trying not to sleep as much as possible, but it'd only be worse if she DID sleep. "Asshattery, not assholery," Glory corrected. "Besides, actions speak louder than words, find a better way to apologize." Given the choice, no matter the situation, she'd almost always take the silent option. To be loud was to be dead, or hoping for death, which was generally far from ideal. Unfortunately, most people relied heavily on verbal communication, so mere facial expressions weren't enough. "True that. Good thing I cheat in card games," She said slyly. Not that she participated in any too often, but she was quite the magician when it came to making the right cards appear. Or seem to appear. "Oh, it was beautiful," She said gleefully. "Sadly, he didn't think so." Who knew a drunk man could run, partially blinded by frogs, long enough to catch a small child and retaliate? "Oh good," She said, standing and picking up Jaws, who was practically vibrating with excitement at the idea of going somewhere with Glory, and the cookie jar. Hopefully, Cook wouldn't notice that a few were missing. Setting Jaws on her shoulder, she said, "Tapadh leat," to Leo as he opened the door for her. 'Thank you', pronounced tapa lay-at. She appreciated the fact he shut the door silently even more so, and padded down the hallway quiet as a cat. She slid the panel in the wall open carefully, and led him down the narrow corridor, following the route she'd memorized, listening for any movement in the kitchens before opening the door. Standing on her toes and stretching to her fullest height, she slid the jar back into place, making sure it was exactly where it'd been before. Slinking back to the servant's accessway, she paused and asked, "How okay are you with darkness? There's something I want to show you." Namely, her Hidey Hole. It was almost entirely devoid of light, but not so much that Glory couldn't see. The lack of light Leo'd caused in her room earlier was one of the few instances when she couldn't see, likely because it was artificial, so not only was there no tangible darkness for her to manipulate, there was no light whatsoever.

"Is that an actual answer, or are you joking. I can't tell. Should I be worried?" Leo asked with a faint smile, though he.. wasn't kidding. He couldn't tell. It almost seemed like an honest answer, and in that case, he wanted to immediately know what he could do to make the answer a definite yes. "Ah, big difference. I still can't stop apologizing. There are some things that warrant far more than an apology, so be glad you just get that." He stated, rather stubbornly. He wasn't going to move far on that one. He did make a mental note to try and not apologize for little insignificant things, though. That probably wasn't neccesary. "I can try. Just don't be offended if you get whacked again because I panicked and forgot what to do." He joked with a grin, though the truth was, he could definitely try and do that. Actions did speak louder than words, so he would find a better way. "Pff, remind me to never play poker with you." Leo grinned, looking amused. Good thing to know. He could use the same tactics as her, however, so they may be evenly matched. That'd be an interesting card game. "I have a feeling you learned just how fast a drunkard could scramble when they were angry." He commented with a wince in sympathy. He had learned that as well, just not from a prank. And the answer was... quite fast. He was pretty sure his father hit new records for the fastest and most agile completely drunk and insane idiot that had ever tried to catch anyone.
He was totally done trying to decipher whatever Glory was saying, but that sounded nice and short enough that it probably could've been thanks for opening the door. Maybe. Or she was just teasing him in another language. Could be that too. He followed her silently, his golden eyes flitting around the darkened, empty hallways. It was late, wasn't it? Considering he preferred not to use a watch, he relied mostly on his own mind, and when he was outside, the sun. And a couple other things. He guessed it was around 11, but he wasn't quite sure. Slipping into the wall after her, he made sure it fully closed before trekking after her. "I could've put that up." He teased, smiling. "Remember our deal? I help with the tall stuff, and you make sure I never have to scrunch up my poor bones to grab stuff out of small short spaces ever again!" He stated cheerfully, sounding quite happy that he would never have to try and worm his way into small spaces ever again. At her question, he smirked slightly, pausing a moment before answering. "Just as good as you, now. Momentarily stealing your power, thank youuu." He chuckled, though he was impressed and slightly blinded- everything was so VIBRANT. And it was dark in there! It seemed like everything was covered in a thin florescent gel. Every corner illuminated. He then realized he was staring far to hard at the darkest corner in there, realized after that this was how Glory saw the world, and that was followed by extreme sympathy for her poor eyes. "How do you SEE when it's light out!?! How are you not BLINDED? This is hurting my eyessss- get to the darker spot, I beg of you." He all but groaned, closing his eyes for a moment. He could see LIGHT through his EYELIDS. What the hell! He wanted darkness- immediately. Maybe everything wouldn't look so neon.
