Leo snorted quietly as she persisted in arguing about the apologizing thing, altogether just resolving to do it anyway when he felt like. He did make a mental note to switch the words to 'My bad' however, as that would still be accurate. "My bad for not accepting your apology phobia right away, madam." He said courteously, a slight British accent creeping into his voice at the end. He then waved a hand in the air. "Pff, height doesn't matter. Unless you're trying to reach something high up or beat your friend in height or do a billion other things." He grinned. "But I forgot you were unnaturally tall for your kind, so yay for you. Need a card? Maybe some gifts? I'll make sure to write: Finally achieved height! 5'8 to be exact, no less and no more, don't get it wrong lest I skewer you!" He commented in a cheery voice. "That's not a skill I see as worth having, but you do you. Just don't ever go near me- my poor feet have been smashed by enough heels." He snorted jokingly. His smile slowly grew as she scowled more, and finally ended in a flat out grin at her comment. "Me too!" He chirped with nothing but pure unaltered joy in his voice. 3 seconds later, Leo lifted his eyebrows eyebrows watched her for a moment, wishing she'd believe his words. "Nooo, I said that for absolutely no reason." He drawled, sarcasm dripping in his voice. "Yes, really. Don't get used to it." He joked quietly, a smile flitting onto his face before he nodded sharply, chuckling. "Obviously." He agreed readily, looking around again at the dampened walls and the mist that was almost visible in the air it was so thick. "Riiiight. I never said when you'd die- there are many things to die of. Not just dehydration." He pointed out. Plus, the water down here would most likely make her sick. "Older than Simara!? How did it survive the dinosaurs?" He gasped, his eyes twinkling mischeviously as he looked at the old piece of wood. As soon as the invitation to wander around and hopefully not get lost came, Leo had exited that barren room and headed to the next. He glanced into places, decided if they were interesting enough to go in, then either moved on or entered. In one room there was an old tattered rug, almost completely worn away, and he was about to comment on it when the entire world went black, like ink rushing into his vision, and he toppled to the ground like a very heavy precariously set stack of bricks.
He was back, yet again, in the horrible camp. Chained to a pole by his neck, dehydrated and so weak he could barely move, not to mention so battered and bruised it looked like he got hit by a truck- yep, that was Leo. He was at a Corrupted 'concentration camp' if you would, and this was a very real memory. He blinked dust out of his sore eyes, barely able to see but still looking around for... ahh, yes. Liona. His wonderful sister. She looked just as bad as him. Liona was a couple years younger than him, and they shared no resemblance whatsoever. He had red hair, she had long brown hair that was pulled back into a ponytail. He was tall, she was no more than 5'3. He weighed as much as an elephant, she could probably get blown over by a normal day's winds. Or, looked like she could, anyway. He liked to dress in loose, darker clothing, and she liked to announce her presence to the world with blinding rainbows of color. Different in every way, yet closer than any brother and sister had ever been. It was more flashes now, as he wasn't really reliving the whole memory. They got dragged back into interrogation, beat up a little more, dash of fresh new wounds, and then sent back. However, this time, they were put close together, and this time, the newbie Corrupted.. didn't secure their chains tight enough. Leo licked his parched lips, trying to get the salty blood away from the cracks, and whispered hoarsely to Liona. All in all, she made up most of the plan. Just made it better. She was smarter than anyone Leo had ever met. Now it was just flashing by again. They escaped. Running was hard. He kept falling because his legs were too weak from months of sitting there, yet he was still clawing at the ground as an effort to go faster. Dragging Liona along. Helping her. Granted, she was stronger than him. She wasn't having as much trouble, that was for sure. He gasped for air, his lungs seeming to have holes in them as he groped for more ground. It quickly all went to hell. They got so far. So close. Yet they were surrounded. He remembered flipping into dragon form, and almost severing a couple of his limbs because he didn't have enough energy to fully transform. He remembered disemboweling Corrupted after Corrupted. He remembered faltering. Remembered crashing. Remembered fighting for his own life. Remembered finishing killing the Corrupted on him. Remembered seeing the blood. Remembered seeing the long claw sticking out of her back. Remember screaming bloody murder and slaying the rest of the Corrupted in a panicking, pained state. Remembered collapsing by her cold body in sobs. Remembered not getting to say goodbye. He had been fighting for his own life when he should've been fighting for hers, and she paid the price. It was all a blur now. He had brought her body home. Gone to his house where his father and mother still lived for the first time since he had ran away. He had been too weak to defend himself from his father's attacks that time. After he woke up, with the new bruises and cuts and gashes, he remembered sitting there in agony as he got screamed at that it was all his fault. She mattered more than his dirty old skin. He had always been too slow and stupid to protect her, and now she had paid the price. The rant went on and on, but ended with his father screaming 'You killed her, you monster', throwing him out, and telling him to never return. Under any circumstances. They never wanted to see his face again.
[SHIT SHIT SHIT] Leo thought as dim light slowly started filtering in and he realized when had happened. He hated those damn flashbacks, and hated the whole fainting part even more. He attempted to shove himself off the floor just to realize he must've hit his head- quite hard- on the way down. Dizziness sent him right back down, and this time he had enough sense to stay there, staring at the floor and trying to keep his vision from going black. At least Glory knew how he got most of his concussions, now. He had a long way to fall. And this was a reoccurring thing. Over and over. It was always the same scenes, though. His mind never could get creative. He had so many torturous moments to choose from, and yet that was the one it played on repeat. Even though he had witnessed the event a million times, he still felt pain claw at his heart. It hadn't even been that long ago. A couple years, maybe. He had been doing a mission for Libodon with his sister, who had gotten up to Lieutenant General. She was one of the best, though, and had a history of being charming and dangerous at the same time. She could shape-shift better than anyone else Leo knew, and fought like it was always her last one. Seeing that, even if he was used to it.. made him miss her so much more. In a way, Glory and her were very alike. However, they were also very different. Considering Glory would probably never wear an article of clothing with more than 6 colors on it, and Liona would never let even one knife touch the floor of her room. She was a bit of a neat freak, to say the least. Even that, though, she was the best at.He closed his eyes, his breathing shallow, as he didn't even really want to be doing it. His head was swimming, but it wasn't as bad as last time. Although he could see blood dripping off his face onto the floor, which meant he had hit hard enough for his skull to bleed. Sadly, heads bleeding were the worst. He wished it would stop, especially when the salty blood half blinded him and stung his eyes, causing him to let out an unhappy hiss. Leo gingerly reached up to the worst throbbing spot on his head. A burst of pain shot through his skull, and he felt warm blood trickle down his fingers. That was a greaaaat sign. He let out a slow breath, keeping his eyes closed and resigning to wait until the dizziness left. It wasn't like getting up was an option.

(Couple things- first, west, your drawing of Leo is good! I find colored pencils to be terrifying enough as it is, let alone drawing people with them T-T
Second- I very much did enjoy your book, thank you! xD
Third- while researching phobias, I found one called 'dumbasaphobia', literally a fear of "encountering someone perceived as unintelligent or making foolish decisions" xD)
Lieutenant Dwyer
Glory rolled her eyes, suppressing a grin, and said, "See- much better. However, I don't think you want to think that I'm afraid of apologies, I just find them to be a waste of time. Dumbasaphobia? Perhaps. Philophobia? A little. But apologies are not on that list." She offered no explanation as to what either of these were, and might just make him read a dictionary before specifically telling him what they meant for no particular reason. She was just really good at being difficult sometimes. "Height does indeed matter, " She huffed. "What if some 7'9 goliath tried to mug me, want me to kick his kneecaps? Bite his ankles, perhaps?" The thought was amusing enough that she almost lost what little control she had over her spposed-to-be-annoyed exterior. "Since I'm technically the last of my kind," She said, "I'm both tall and short, though the skewering part is completely true." Nobody on her mother's side of the family had lived past 50 in well over 7 generations, nor had any died of old age in easily twice that. It was almost a macabre sort of tradition to die a horrible, albiet badass, way. This also meant that she had no living family. None worth visiting or even knowing, anyway. Her father may or may not be alive, but his sister likely was, though she never approved of Glory's mother- thought her brother could do far better, and thus she hated Glory too. "Every skill is one worth having because knowledge is power," She replied, grinning. That was quite literally Glory had the faintest clue about how to dance. "Forgive my trust issues, mo ghràdh," She said, "I've just gotten used to playing a fucked-up version of Two Truths and a Lie with just about everyone." Unfortunate but true. Along with being bothered by boneheads who didn't even bother trying to be slick and just being regular-old assholes, particularly when she lived with her father. "Y'know, if you think about it, there's no evidence that I'm not immortal since I'm still alive," She said. That wasn't entirely wrong, since you'd never really know if you could die until you did. Glory snorted and said, "Survive them? They probably LOVED it!" A T-Rex might not be good at playing the piano - miracas would be better - but they probably had other critters to play it for them. She paused at the piano, dragging one hand across the keys in a glissando that sounded like the piano would be better fit for ragtime music than anything else. She followed him through the rooms, which she knew so well, and was impotent to do anything as he fainted. Partly because he was about twice her size, and partly because poor little Mori jumped from her perch on Leo's shoulder and into Glory's arms, and she almost didn't catch the little critter. Jaws was rudely awoken from his nap on her shoulder, but the dino paid him no mind. Mori wriggled in Glory's grasp, and she struggled to hold onto Mori, who seemed to want to go to Leo, but Glory was afraid she'd jump in him and further injure his poor ribs. She knelt next to him, Mori still wriggling and squeaking worriedly. As he came to, Glory gently lifted his head and slid under him, cradling his head in her lap. She let Mori go, and the little raptor promptly scrambled to him and started nuzzling him in what seemed like dinosaur-esque worry and relief. Glory started carefully wiping the blood from his face with her sleeve, so tenderly you'd think Leo was a newborn kitten. "You alright, Leo?" She asked gently.

"A waste of time. Hmph. What happens if I'm not TRYING to apologize but it's hot wired into my brain because apparently Apologies make some people not kill me and just wish to?" Leo snorted. Not that it had ever helped with his father. Apologies, begging, silence, possum like limpness- nothing seemed to matter. As the words she used Registered in his mind, he tilted his head just slightly. The first one he put 2 and 2 together to figure out what it meant, and the second he resolved to look up later. If he remembered, anyway. "Then that 7'9 Goliath is going to get drop kicked to Mars and have his ass painted over the solar system." He grumbled, adding in a hearty scowl to back up his words. However, he couldn't help but grin a little at her words. "Eh, knowing you, you'd cut his Achilles tendons on both feet, watch him tall to the ground, trying to crawl away, and smash his skull in with your dagger like deadly heels." He painted a revoltingly amusing picture, pleased to have such an imaginative mind. It was true, though. That'd probably happen. "Knowledge is power. Don't leave the door open to the library. Ants will get in. They will learn how to read. Knowledge is power. Power corrupts. Ants have colonies. They will bind together and take over the world!" He exclaimed. Random as hell, but whenever he heard that saying- knowledge is power- thats exactly what he thought of. "Forgiven. However, I do want to point out, you're not playing Two Truths and a Lie with me- you're playing Truth or Dare." He grinned. It was quite true- they were always daring each other to do stupid stuff, and he couldn't, and would never, lie to her. That would break what little trust she had in him. "True true. You are still alive. I think. Unless you brought me all the way down here to eat my brains- and yes, I have enough to eat, don't comment- then I think we're in the clear." Leo joked with a smirk, making sure to add in that he was, in fact, smart enough to have brains. He knew she would disagree. A small laugh escaped at her answer- most likely true.
Even though the whole fainting part sucked, waking up was almost just as bad. Especially when he was bleeding. However, he had to admit he didn't mind AS much when he felt her fingers gently brushing his hair away from the wound. Although everything was still a liiiitle blurry, he felt Mori frantically nudging his hand, so he poked the little dinosaur in the chest, earning a delighted squeak. Mori immediately dove into his side, purring. "Define.. alright." He answered with a faint smile, glad his head was clearing- or, the throbbing was getting more prominent, one or the other. "Better now that you're right here?" He offered mere milliseconds later, a teasing grin flitting onto his face. He could manage that, even though it kinda felt like he had been smacked by a sledgehammer. Obviously he wasn't giving Mori enough attention, as she hopped on his chest and stared down at him for a second before placing one clawed paw on his neck and squeaking with the most concern he'd ever seen from an animal. Letting out a slightly choked laugh, he scratched her neck, which was obviously a sweet spot, as she collapsed in happy purrs. It only was slightly hard to breathe with the little weight on his chest- she was heavier than she looked. "I wasn't out for long, right?" He finally asked, as he knew these ranged from a few seconds to .. 3 days. That one had really sucked. REALLY. He had broken an arm in the fall, and three days later woken up to infection, a high fever, agony, and a barely curable wound. He wanted to try and slowly sit up again, but he had a feeling it wouldn't go very well, and honestly, he could totally just fall asleep right here. Not gonna lie.

(lol I'm cheap too xD The only art supplies I own are in pencil form lmao
I about choked laughing when I read it, they couldn't have come up with anything better, Dumbass-a-phobia is literal perfection. As a self-proclaimed smarty-britches(my dad calls me quick-witted and an online IQ test didn't help my ego) I live by the phrase "The problem with being smart is that everyone around you is an idiot" xD)
Lieutenant Dwyer
"Again - 'my bad', 'my apologies' or 'forgive me' are acceptable, just not 'I'm sorry'," Glory said, "Besides, do you really believe I'd want - or try - to kill you?" If he did, then she did a good job at mean mugging. Even so, he of all people ought to know that, towards him at least, she was all bark and no bite. She couldn't help but laugh a little at his grumbled words, and a far-too-sly-to-be-safe grin spread across her face. "Yes and no. First I'd threaten him, likely with something along the lines of 'I'm gonna kick your ass so hard I'll be wearing you like a sock and tickling your teeth with my toes", then do what you said." Good god, the visual that brought about was both hilarious and a little horrifying. She nodded thoughtfully at his words, trying to keep a grin off her face, and said, "That reminds me- when I first heard 'Knowledge is power', whoever said it attributed the quote to Francis Bacon. I thought they said 'Knowledge is power; France is bacon' and just assumed that was the quote." That led to a scenario when her father had said it, and Glory, about 5 or 6, asked 'France is bacon?' and he thought she said 'Francis Bacon', and simply nodded, thus Glory believed it was 'Knowledge is power; France is bacon' until she was about 11 when she read it somewhere and it finally clicked. Still, Leo's version about ants learning to read was arguably funnier. "Ah, right," Glory said, "Truth or Dare. Honestly, I'm not sure which is worse." Both could be emotionally dangerous, but Truth or Dare often had a more physically hazardous element, which made it more fun. Unless one was dared to do something to someone like Simara- mini Frogmageddon in her bed, perhaps? She shook her head and said, "Nope, my kind doesn't eat brains as far as I'm aware. Never too late to start though." He did a good job preventing a statement from Glory along the lines of 'If I brought you here for that, I'd starve,' though.
Glory smiled a little at Mori's antics, and it grew a tad at Leo's answer. "Me or her?" She asked teasingly, glancing at the dino. The small creature was somehow like a cat, a dog, and an alien all at once, given its loyalty, purring, and sharp pokey bits. She wondered idly if Mori's teeth had started coming in yet. "Not too long, no," She answered, then gently prompted, "but would you care to offer an explanation of some sort?" Not required, but definitely appreciated. Little Jaws, with Mori no longer bothering him, had managed to fall back asleep. Quite the guard deer he was, though in his defense there wasn't much to bite at the moment.

(I'm at a horse show with a couple people In the same camper as me, it's 12 am, and I am just choking and gagging on laughter as I try SO hard not to wake them up by wheezing at this xD
Almost impossible, by the way. Also, if you're trying to laugh quietly, don't grab your nose like you would to hold in a sneeze. You will make a weird suffocating dying goat gasping snorting noise that is too loud for comfort.
I can relate to that- and by the way, I am 100% using that phrase for the rest of my life xD.

"My bad is okay, my apologies makes it sound like you're an 80 year old British professor, and forgive me makes it sound like you're on your knees begging." Leo commented flatly, deciding to stick with my bad for the time being. Seemed better than the other options. "Nooooo- I mean, sometimes you may feel like you want to and realize I'm too priceless and rare to throw away, and sometimes I feel like you're trying to kill me, but I don't think it'd ever happen for real." He flashed his rarely used charming smile that looked much more natural than his usual lopsided grin, but he couldn't help one flip flopping into the other. As she started speaking, he kind of just gaped, mostly at the mental image that quickly sprung into his mind. What the heck. That was not pleasant. He... he didn't want to think anymore. He now wished she ate brains. He opened his mouth, but only a cracking squeak came out, so he let himself have a little more time to recover. He did crack a smile as she started explaining her little mixup, and the mental image slowly faded. Over time. "Yours is worse. Definitely two truths and a lie. I prefer truth or dare. But what I was trying to helpfully point out was that I won't lie to you. I get how that could be lost in translation, however, since you heard Francis Bacon as France is Bacon." He teased, smirking. "Never too late to start is definitely right. Unless you don't want to die, you're 101, and you want to go skydiving. Then it may be a little late to start." He chuckled, looking pleased at the fact that he had super successfully blocked any brain related insults. "... I don't even know if I should answer that." Leo let out a small snort, glancing- the best he could- at her face, not even quite sure if she was serious or not. Thankfully, she wasn't, so he provided an answer anyway. "Of course I'm talking about her. Goodness Glory, what were you thinking?" He scoffed quietly, sacrificing using his now dented mind to express himself. "Originally I was talking about you, but now you make me reconsider my decision." He added in a teasing tone. He was quite glad that it wasn't, like, the next day. Then again, she wouldn't have stayed down here that long. And probably wouldn't have left him down here and just happened to visit when he awoke. As she spoke, he somehow remembered that fainting wasn't normal, and decided it'd be best to explain. He took in a small breath before pushing himself up to lean against the wall, ignoring the rush of dizziness and only rewarded the pain a single wince. After he felt he could speak again, he gently started stroking Mori and spoke. "The short answer: I have random flashbacks that, for some reason, cause fainting. Always about the same thing, over and over and over and over. You think that I'd be numb to It by now, but it hurts all the more. Always the same memory of my sister dying and the last time I spoke to my father. The very last words he said to me, I remember quite clearly, were: "You're a monster- you killed her! Leave and never return!" That may be making it sound a little nice and fairytale like, but eh, that's close to what he said. I'm just glad my sister got a lot of people that cared about her. Not my mother, of course, as she was a sociopath/narcissist, but my father genuinely cared about my sister. Liona. Silver lining on every cloud, sooo.. I did learn most of my torture methods from the 'concentration camp' of the Corrupted. Some of my favorites were from there. Has to be a good thing for every bad thing, right?" He ended it with that to make it seem less like a sob story, but it didn't really cushion the jagged edges. The facts were, it still hurt, and it was hard to hide. Very. Very hard to hide.

"Hey, don't diss 'my apologies', it's a damn good phrase, " Glory replied, "plus, it's better than 'I'm sorry'." 'Sorry' just sounded both too sad and overused. She thought for a moment at his words before saying, "You are... far too right." She fixed her gaze on the floor, trying to ignore his utterly enamoring smile, yet still failed miserably. His reaction to her utterly poetic threat made up for it though, and she couldn't help but grin at him almost triumphantly. "Okay, first of all," She said, "and this is just my trust issues talking again- how do I know that's not a lie? And second, how can you say 'Francis Bacon' and 'France is bacon' in the same sentence and NOT get confused?" She was trying not to grin sheepishly, but was rather unsuccessful. She snorted and said, "If I live to be 101, I'm going skydiving with the intention of hitting the ground, thankyouverymuch." If she lived past 60, she'd basically be a failure to the entirety of her mother's bloodline. 'Live fast, die young' was basically the unofficial family motto. "Of course you should," Glory said, grinning. "I was thinking that you somehow managed to worry me and a dinosaur," She said, a little affectionately, followed by, "You mean you thought better of it, since very few people are actually glad to see me?" Generally, if Glory chose to be seen, it was because someone was looking for a whooping, or she had places to be. Otherwise, she slunk around like a cat around birds. As Leo sat up, she moved to sit next to him against the wall, and the movement was enough to rouse Jaws from his slumber a tad. The deer opened his eyes slightly, squeaked, and fell back asleep. Leo somehow made his father sound like a grumpy old troll living under a bridge, and, considering what he'd told her thus far, it seemed too mild. If he weren't dead already, Glory'd absolutely say something like 'You are a hideous, twisted, evil little man, and you will never be anything else" and follow it up with a good smackdown. She sighed a little and asked softly, "Do you think it hurts because you never let yourself grieve?" He had sort of called her out earlier for stuffing down her 20-year-old sadness, and yet she had a pretty strong feeling that he was doing the same, only the wound was far fresher. The biggest difference was that she'd had all too much time to come to terms with her mother's death, and he seemed to believe he was at fault for the loss of his sister.

"Mhm. Definitely not something an ancient crab would say." He teased. "Understandable. Definitely the overused part, anyway. Now let me point out that there has been multiple occurances- although, only one that I can clearly remember- when you have said you were sorry to me. Considering the context of when you said it, its a damn good thing it sounded sad and a damn good thing you didn't say 'my apologies' because I might've just never forgiven you again." Leo pointed out with a snort. That was VERY true. He didnt exactly want to remember that moment, however, so he shut it out of his mind. "Good. Now I know I won't be murdered by you. Relief has washed over me." He chuckled, altogether waaaay too amused at the fact she was trying to ignore his Dashing smile. Even with his 'insecurities' he could admit that if he tried hard enough, there might be a second or two where he could possibly call himself handsome. If you only looked at the face. And not the hair. And if he focused on not having his smile be weirdly crooked. "You don't know that's not a lie. You'll have to trust me." He stated, then smirked. "France is bacon has a pause in between each word. Francis bacon doesn't. Subtle but noticeable if you're observational." He finished, looking amused. "I agree with that. Thankfully, neither of us are getting to that age." He answered, though mentally thinking that he only wanted to be alive as long as she was. If she wasn't here, he'd probably die of grief. Which was fine by him. "Oh shush. I was happy to see both of you, though Mori did look a little happier to see me, however, I was indeed happier to see you. On that note, any person that isn't blessed of your presence is missing out, and any person who is blessed with your presence but doesn't think they are ... they're even more insane than you." He said this with such stubbornness that even if it wasn't true, it might've changed just to fit his own words. He then stared at the wall, pondering his memories. For a while. Until she spoke. He glanced down, pressing his lips together for a second. "I can't let myself grieve. It'd take too long, and reopen wounds that aren't even fully closed. It would distract me from my job here, make Simara dislike me even more, if that's even possible, and it would hurt even more." Leo said quietly, looking at the ground. "I loved Liona more than anything and she was ripped from me using my own stupidity and selfishness. I don't want that to happen again. If I continue feeling the pain, I'll constantly be reminded of my mistake, and that means I'll try harder to not make it again." He whispered, alternating between clenching a fist and using Mori as an emotional support raptor.

"Well, considering you had the audacity to so much as THINK I looked 526, you'd better not be calling me an ancient crab," Glory huffed. She winced at his next words and said, "Yeahhh... that was a prime example of when 'I'm sorry' is acceptable to use." She still felt bad about that. "Murder is off the table, but I never said anything about manslaughter," She said, "Just avoid sneaking up on me and you'll be fine." Generally, if someone tried to spook Glory and invoke a fight-or-flight reaction, 'fight' was almost guaranteed. She hadn't accidentally killed anyone - yet - but she had injured some. "Mmm, good thing I trust you, then," She said with a coy smile. "Ehh, depends on the cadence of one's speech," She countered, "as sometimes the only difference between 'Francis' and 'France is' is 'iz' versus 'is'." France IZ bacon, or FrancIS bacon. She chose to ignore the fact he called her unobservant. "According to you I'm well past 101," She teased, smirking. She'd never let go of that one. "First, I refuse to be shushed," She said, "Second, you're the only person who's 'blessed' by my presence. The rest are all cursed. Third, it's impossible to be any less sane than me. " Cursed with a combination of physical and psychological therapy, usually. Or the inability to walk without a limp. Or walk at all. She thought for a moment at his words before saying gently, "The wounds will only heal on the surface. Below, they're festering and waiting for the right moment to become crippling. She thought a little longer at his last few sentences and had to admit, some of his reasoning made sense, in a depressing sort of way. "I'll always be here to listen, and while I'm no greif counselor, I think I know what'll help," She said softly, and a small smile spread over her face. "This shit'll light up your brain like fireworks with dopamine." In one word - sugar. A little more specifically, Glory's favorite midnight snack, especially the way she made them.

"I am not calling you an ancient crab, and I apologize- see my use of words- for ever even thinking you were two inches shorter than you are. In my defense, you said I was 6'5, which is just as bad." Leo pointed out, then frowned. "No, it's not. If accidentally cutting one of your limbs off doesn't count for an 'I'm sorry', then accidentally ripping my heart out." He was half saying that jokingly, but the empty, hollow, 'Leannan' had really jarred his mind. Messed with his head. Obviously, he knew it was a mere figment of his own imagination, but that didn't matter. "Aw, how touching." He snorted sarcastically. "I'll try to avoid sneaking up on you. You are, truthfully, rather observational, so you'd probably notice a close-to-300 pound man sneaking up on you. Granted, I am rather good at being weirdly quiet as I walk." He mused off towards the end, definitely happy about his skills. "Why thank you very much for your trust. Hopefully I won't throw it all away." Leo definitely said that more to himself meaning he didn't want to fail her like he failed Liona. "Iz and is are both still differences." He answered with a chuckle. It was still funny. At her next words, he winced over dramatically. "I did NOT say that. Or mean it. You are well in your youthful years. Quick question- how Many compliments will it take to at least have you try not to mention that instance as often? I'd better start brainstorming." He snorted. "I can be rather flattering with compliments when need be, so just give the word and I'll start firing away." He added with a mischevious grin. "Well I am blessed to be blessed by your presence. If there was anyone in the world I'd want to be around and have as a friend, that'd be you. Or a more than friend." Leo pointed out, adding the last part on as an afterthought and not paying too much attention to it. "And that is true." He then resumed staring at the ground until his wound starting throbbing enough to one, remind him of it, and two, make him want to go back up where he could lay down somewhere comfortable and not have to worry about falling over again. "You'll always have to be here to listen because I seem to like dumping my shitty life stories on you." He smiled wanely, barely even visible. At her next words, however, he looked SLIGHTLY concerned. "Um... and what would this be?" He sure hoped she wasn't going to try to shove some weird plant at him and hope it knocked him out. Because it probably wouldn't. He had experimented quite a bit, and apparently it took quite a bit of stuff to knock him out. After a second, he decided he really did need to get up. Most people would ask if their companion could help them up, or catch them when they fell- but he said the opposite. "Please get out of the way before I crush you on accident." He mumbled, using the wall to quickly push himself up, as he was worried if he went slowly he'd just collapse again. His brain disapproved, as it reeled around like he was in a cartoon. He closed his eyes and grit his teeth, waiting for the pain and dizziness to subside before looking down at Mori, who had fallen out of his lap and was whimpering unhappily on the floor. He reached down, scooped her up into his arms, and left her there, as she already seemed to big to go on his shoulder. After Mori was comfortable and cuddling into his chest, he turned to exit, but waited for Glory to lead the way, as he was all but lost and he didn't want to teleport. He would fall over or get lost in another dimension.
