"Good. Because I prefer you alive and almost walking too," Glory said, unable to help the bit of fondness that crept into her voice. (haha xD my mother could never, even when talking about raising beef cattle she says it's fine as long as she doesn't meet the cow, as she can't eat something she's met, and seen it bat its eyelashes at her lmao)
"I hope so. Mainly for your sake, if you feed me something on par with my cooking, we're gonna have a problem," She said, shaking her head slightly. As he chose not to answer her gray vs grey argument, Glory decided to take it as a win, and found herself grinning smugly. Actually, if one had to use a form of gray, the only acceptable one - after dark white and light black - was graey. Or greay, whichever tickled your fancy. Graey was better though.
"Yes, but when the deal was made, you never set any ground rules for changing the rules, therefore I'm overruling you and changing the rules. So, with those rules in mind, I say you have to use your favor in the next 48 hours," Glory said, managing to sound sort of like a lawyer. A heartless, bloodsucking monster with a degree and a briefcase. "I don't think about something else, I think about everything, all the time," Glory retorted. A little bit of everything, all of the time, that was pretty much how her mind worked.
(good, spread the magic✨ xD)
In Glory's eyes, she answered his question wonderfully, fabulously, perfectly. "Playing Twenty Questions isn't guessing," She said with a snort. "Mmm, yes, yes, and almost certainly," She said, then half whined, "But making you guess is so much fuuuun. Don't kill the game just because you're getting fed."
Winding up the bird once more, it took a detour in the opposite direction from the town, instead taking a somewhat overgrown trail uphill. It wasn't too steep, but enough so that it'd be a pain for a kid to play with a ball here.
"The rest is kinda uphill, can you manage?" She asked Leo, watching as the bird thunked into a tree before continuing along the trail. It wasn't too much further now, so maybe Leo'd guess it. Even if he didn't, she was certain he'd like it.

"I'm touched." Leo grinned, looking a bit pleased at the slight almost inaudible hint of fondness in her voice.
(Oh, my mom is like that, too. And my sister. I just don't understand. I see a pig and say bacon! They see a pig and they're like awwww how adooooorable. We actually saw newborn piglets, and my mother was fawning over how cute they were, whilst I was wondering if they'd grow as big as the mother because that'd be a shit ton of bacon XD)
"Oh, never. The worst my cooking has done to anyone is gotten them sick because they ate too much of it." Leo answered with a chuckle. "No problem will be present there."
He fell silent as she argued her case about the rules, scowling slightly. She had a point. "It's rude to change the rules mid contest." he grumbled. "But fine. I will follow along because I'm AMAZING and I will tell you want I want within the next 48 hours." He let out an aggrieved sigh, looking as woeful as a golden retriever that just lost its toy in a bush and didn't want to go in to get it.
"You mean you're forgetting everything, all the time, because you can't think about that much." He huffed, listening to the gravel crunch weirdly quietly under his boots as he walked for a second, momentarily distracted. He did not have ADHD, but he may have ADD. He got distracted VERY easily. He wondered how he managed to keep it so quiet. It was most likely the way he placed his foot down, but how did he do that? It helped that he took less steps, and slower strides, so maybe it was just the lack of time his feet were on the ground. Baffling. He turned his attention back to her as she spoke again. "I'm not playing twenty questions, obviously. I won't stop at twenty." Leo grinned. "Aw c'mon, so it's just a house with a person who loves to drink and eat!" He complained. "What am I supposed to do, guess an ADDRESS?" He huffed right after, then glanced at the hill. And then the trail. And then the crashed bird. "Kinda uphill?" Leo scoffed, but he would be .... fine. Most likely. "I'll live." He answered cheerfully, surveying the area ahead of them as they turned off the road.

"Sophia Matthews probably is too," Glory muttered under her breath. Yet another really shitty joke, just not quite as bad as the pedophile at a preschool one. (Oh wow, you're just like me xD By our house, there are some folks with cows on the corner next to the road, and one cow's like 10 inches taller than the rest. My ma's just like 'look how big that thing is!' meanwhile I'm wondering how much more meat it's got than the others x'D)
"Mm. How comforting," She said half-sarcastically. No poisoning any time soon, yay!
She smirked a little as he spoke and said, "True, but since when did I give a shit about being rude?" Literally never. Not once. "I'm not sure about amazing, but you're certainly something. Thanks, though. I don't want you to forget about it," Glory said, ignoring his puppy-ish look.
"Oh shit in your hat and wear it backward," She grumbled. "I can do enough thinking for both of us and then some, don't gimme that." Enough overthinking, absolutely. She growled a little and kicked a rock, admittedly pretty damn hard, and it bounced off a tree and somehow almost hit the wind-up bird, a good 2 dozen feet ahead of them. Basically tried to kill one metal bird and a tree with one stone.
"I know you won't. It's basically a weird mix of 99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall and 20 Questions," Glory said with a snort. "By that description, it could be your house or mine!" She protested, feigning annoyance. "Sure, you could do that, or guess why we're going there, or what we've gotta do there," Glory offered. Why they were going? Glory had some things to pick up. What they were doing? Pretty much Glory's socializing for the next 2 months or so. Or until she needed to come back.

This time, Leo had to cough to hide a laugh. He had a feeling he'd be hearing plenty more like that, so he mineswell give in to the amusement and deal with the mental consequnces later. "Thanks for ruining my sentimental statement." He feigned offense. (Mmmm sounds yummy xD)
"I know." He ignored the sarcasm. "You will be happy that you decided not to kill me when you taste the extravagant amazingness. Also, I suggest you not eat supper tonight. That way you wake up mildly hungry. I know you're like a fricking snake and this is one meal you're not going to want to have four bites of." He huffed, but honestly, it was good advice. Especially for her.
"That's why I agreed. I knew you wouldn't give a rat's ass about being rude." He scoffed, then threw an offended look at her. "I am amazing. You have to admit it." He stated, then grinned. "I won't argue with that. I value my life." He answered, amusement plain on his expression. It was true, anyway. Glory was an overthinker, and she tended to think more than him. A lot more. Although if he wanted to he COULD be a pretty smart person, he decided to kill his braincells anyway. "Pff, c'mon Schatz, you know I know we both know that I was teasing. You do more than enough thinking fo the both of us." He resisted another grin as she kicked a rock.
"Aww shuckleberries, I would never ask 99 questions. My brain would kill me. I'd ask 100 to have peace of mind." Leo snickered, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Okay, we're going there to kill someone? Actually, that's about all I got- if it isn't for your Rumor Mill then I dunno what it could be for. For what we're going to do, I'm assuming... something. Maybe... er... pick something up... or... talk to.. people.. I have no frigging clue." He shook his head. That was far more brainpower already used than he usualy used in a week. Glory didn't strike him as a 'go to someone's house to have a beer and talk' kind of person, but hey, what did he know.

Glory was sort of surprised, he took that one better than expected. "You're quite welcome," She said in a way that implied that that wasn't the last joke like that he'd be hearing. Because it wasn't.
"You say that like I usually eat more than once a day," She said somewhat skeptically. "I always wake up mildly hungry." The difference was, she just ignored it and didn't give a shit. Usually, her Eat-O-Meter was just to see how steady she could hold her hand. It it trembled enough to affect her writing, then it was time to eat. That was the only signal from her body she'd listen to.
"Good choice. You're learning," Glory said with a snort. She truly believed being rude was a skill, and one of her most useful at that. How else are you supposed to keep people away? Though her other choice was to climb a tree and not come down and throw a bunch of pinecones at people. (click) "Who says? I don't gotta say nuthin, officer," Glory said. Though sure, he was a bit right.
"Clever move," She muttered. "Now you got it, thank you. If you want, you can do the drinking, I'll do the thinking," Glory offered. The problem was, she couldn't do both at the same time. Which, sometimes was a good thing, but not usually.
"Your brain wouldn't, but I might," Glory retorted. "Nope, not killing anyone," She said, her smug grin returning. "Not Rumor Mill either." She cast him a sidelong glance and said, "Oooh, getting warm. What am I going to get?" She glanced up the trail where the bird had stopped again and lay on its side. "We're almost there, so you'd better get to guessing." Winding up the bird again, she let it carry on down the trail. Part of what she had to do involved the house's inhabitant's smithy-ness, and Glory's preference for custom weaponry. And now a little bit to return the bird.

-I hoped too soon- He thought, knowing that was not the last joke she'd make. "Oh shush, I said it like supper was going to be your only meal. I said it like you should just skip eating altogether." He snorted. "And if you do wake up mildly hungry, you NEVER listen to that urge."
Leo grinned slightly at her words. "I'm easily teachable, what can I say." He chuckled. (That song is hilarious xD- especially when the poor neighbor is like 'yeah, I'm out')
"I say. You do gotta say it. It'll help my mental health." He replied stubbornly. He was amazing, she knew it, he knew it, now she just had to admit it.
"I know, and I'm all up for that. I much prefer drinking over thinking, anyway." Leo stated cheerfully. No truth was absent there- he'd been forced to use his brain far too many times to actually WANT to.
He listened to her words, eyes narrowing slightly as he contemplated what else it could be. As said before, Leo wasn't stupid... he had the brainpower to be quite smart, he just decided not to use it. Until he did. It was like having a million working gears, but they were too rusty to move. If he was getting warm with the picking something up comment, then that was helpful. He didn't answer at first, watching the bird as it fell back to the ground. His mind slowly was starting to figure something out. If it was a metal bird that worked so well, who would be someone that worked with metal. A blacksmith. Or something like that. Although Glory could've made it, he decided to grasp the one clue he had. What would a blacksmith make that Glory'd be interested in? Weapons. "So... you're going to get weapons?" He inquired, glancing at her. "Did you make the bird or was it the person we're going to see?"

"Oh, so now you're starving me?" Glory pouted a little. "You might as well tell a substance abuser to keep snortin' stuff," She grumbled. But if he told her not to eat, she wouldn't. Well, she probably wouldn't eat anyway, it felt too much like a chore, but if Leo said not too he'd have a better reason than Glory.
"I dunno, that you're cut out for the circus?" She teased. He could probably replace the classic bear on a tricycle. If a bear was teachable enough to ride a tricycle, Leo probably could too. (Right? all of Bug Hunter's music is hilarious xD)
"No no no, you don't get to pull that one," Glory said, frowning, then added quietly, "but sure, you're amazing."
"I know you know, but on second thought, I'd rather you not destroy your liver. It's probably already the hardest-working one on the planet, give it a damn break," She said with a snort. In all fairness, that was probably the least likely thing to kill him.
Glory could damn near hear the gears turning in his head, the motor sputter and start up, coughing out black smoke, as Leo was thinking. "Mmm, very good!" She said, rather proudly. "Both, I helped. The thing's ancient, the only reason it still flies is the bit of life my old pal gave it." The bird was almost 10 years old now, and a somewhat upgraded replica of a much older one that had died. It worked almost sort of like Leo's critters, but not quite. With a little blood from a live being, the metal bird could imitate life. It had to be wound up, which basically started it's mechanical heart. The bird used to be able to make the flight back up here in one winding-up, but not anymore, it seemed. It made the way down okay, mostly because it was down, but Glory had a feeling this would be this particular bird's last flight.
Coming up the path, it leveled out, and there was a large clearing in the trees and shrubbery. In the middle stood a house, sort of big and sort of not, as Glory'd said. It wasn't a mansion, just 4 rooms - bed, bath, kitchen, living room - but it was large. The door was about a foot taller than Leo, and it was the same inside. The porch was big enough to house a horse, while still being proportionate to the rest of the building. It was old and weathered, but had a sort of cozy feel to it. Two windows in need of a wash looked out from either side of the front door like eyes, and a crooked chimney stood up from the roof, but nothing came out of it now. Behind the house was where it's owner did most of his work, though it was sort of like an addon, mainly so he didn't have to go far to do anything.
"Here we are," Glory chirped happily.

"Ehhh... no." He contemplated it for a moment before answering with a shake of his head. "I won't starve you. If you want to eat, eat. However, I have a distinct feeling that you don't want to eat, and if you do, you don't want to eat much." He commented. He would never keep her from eating- she didn't eat enough as it is.
"I'm only teachable when I want to be." He corrected his formerly wrong statement with a grin. That was a time when he wouldn't want to be.
He smirked triumphantly as he admitted he was amazing, looking pleased. "My mental health and self worth just shot up." He chirped, looking happy with how that ended. He had woooon. Haha.
"Considering it works day and night to keep me alive, yeah." He snorted. "But I'm still going to continue destroying it. No way can I take a break." Leo added with a scoff. Not drinking for over 24 hours would probably kill him faster than his liver would. And, anyway, with his life, he'd much more likely die of something else.
(Lots of black smoke, rust, screeching, and chips falling off the gears xD. Considering they've been unused for around 20 years, it's a miracle they're still usable)
Leo was a bit shocked himself that he had even gotten close to the correct answer. Yes, he had put more thought in than usual, but it was stilla pitiful amount. He didn't think he'd actually get it. "So... we're going to someone's house who lives alone, loves alcohol and food, and tends to play around with metal, e.g. weapons and weird metal bird things." He said slowly. "Sounds fun."
He was quite glad when they started getting to the top of the hill. His leg was quite honestly about to die, and it was really only his willpower telling the pain to shut the fuck up and go away. He observed the house, silently deciding that Glory'd been right. It was big and not big at the same time. SHe could've said something like: it's big but not massive, and that would've made more sense, but he wouldn't argue now. He liked the old, homey, cozy, farmhouse feeling to it, and was VERY glad that the doorways seemed taller than normal. Most normal doorways were either 6', if they were short, or 6'5, if they were tall. Either way, he was usually screwed. But these must've been over 7 feet, and he loved it.
"Here we are. So, if I may ask, why are we going to see your weapons dealer? Also, did I guess the place correctly enough on time? Do you owe me two favors now?" He inquired, glancing around again, his eyes sharpening slightly as they observed the doors, exits, entrances, framework, trees outside, etc.
