(haha xD One more post? Ma'am, I just read The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon - 9yo girl gets lost in the woods, walks like 50 miles, almost dies - and have so much inspiration for this xD) Lieutenant Dwyer ᓚ₍ ^. .^₎ Being out in the woods like this, at night, was all too much like being a kid again. Glory limped along, following wildlife trails, listening for water. That was what she needed, water. Her legs felt like wet spaghetti, and her head was pounding, but if she could just find water, she could wash her wounds, have a drink, and hopefully not get sick. Besides, water led to people, right? Glory remembered hearing that somewhere; find a river and follow it, and you'll find people eventually. That never said anything about finding good samaritans and not more Corrupted, but that wasn't important right now. What WAS was the fact that Leo was a people, and needed water, and this wasn't exactly a swamp, so in theory, by following a river, she had a higher chance of survival and finding him. Glory continued along in this fashion, trying to keep a straight line, and eventually, without realizing, had started muttering over and over "Time slowed, reality bent, on and on the eggman went." It was slow going, but Glory didn't dare stop. She felt like if she stopped or sat down, she wouldn't be able to continue. So on and on the eggman went. Between every thought about her own survival was at least three different things about Leo. Very little was actually a coherent, fully formed thought, more like a half-assed slapped-together jumble of nonsense with a general idea behind it. Like abstract art. After what Glory guessed was about an hour, the sky started to lighten, the very edges of the sun's rays touching on the horizon. That was both good and bad. Good because the night was cold, bad because that meant more Corrupted would be out and about. By the time midmorning came around, Glory heard it; the faint rush of water. She followed it like a bloodhound would a wounded animal, the sound growing ever louder until she saw it. A river, exactly as she hoped, bright and clear and so enticing. She picked up the pace a little; not much, as the stab wound in her thigh hurt like a bitch and she was afraid it would get infected. She crouched at the edge of the water, dipping her aching left hand in and letting the cool water wash over it. It felt wonderful, and helped the swelling. Slowly but surely, she washed as much blood off herself as she could without getting terribly soaking wet. Trying to wash your face with one hand felt weird when you were used to using both, but at least the nice feeling of the cold water gave Glory incentive to not impulsively try to use it.

(its a bit short ) Keres wonder Keres walked through the woods as the moon started to rise she started to look for shelter after walking for a while she stopped and started to weave through the trees her sent would be slightly dampened so the corrupted would have a harder time finding her when she heard water she headed for it when it came into view she noticed a red tint in the water "deer?" She mumbled before walking upstream until she saw what the blood was coming from she wouldn't stop walking for around five more minutes she saw a person hunched over the water in obvious pain she broke into a jog the person appeared to be a woman in her mid twentys and was on the opposite side of the River "hey!" She called out before starting to cross the water started at her knees and the current was strong but the river was only about thirty feet wide she she made it across "you alright?" Her voice was eched with an uneasy tone.

(It's fine lol, novels aren't a requirement xD) Lieutenant Dwyer ᓚ₍ ^. .^₎ Glory looked up as she heard someone approaching, her first thought was that it was more Corrupted, that she hadn't gotten far enough away and this was it. Failure. She let out a resigned, dejected sigh, and mentally prepared herself for that cool, black nothingness she'd spent so long waiting for, but it never came. Instead, whoever it was waded through the water toward Glory, and she instinctively skittered backward a little like a scared animal. Which she certainly felt like. That clawless cat feeling was back again. Her head was pounding and it was hard to get her eyes to focus properly, and her night vision was only half functional which made her head hurt worse, but through all that she could tell this definitely wasn't a Corrupted. "Umm... no," Glory said slowly, disregarding Sun Tzu's advisory to "appear weak when strong and strong when weak". She didn't think that someone would ask if you were okay and then kill you, but then again, you never know.

(Why did the new front page scare me 😭) Keres wonder Keres laughed at glorys reply before digging putting her bag on the ground and digging through it. She dug for a minute before pulling out a wooden case and a metal tin can. Dipping the can in the cold river water she placed it on the ground next to glory then opened the case it had some food in it mostly trail mix and a bunch of sandwiches "help yourself" her appearance hadn't changed much other then her hair she dyed it again before leaving the school it was now just a dark blue. She popped down on the ground crossing her legs, and riding a rock to chuck in the water.

(lmao real, I don't think I'll ever be used to it xD) Lieutenant Dwyer ᓚ₍ ^. .^₎ Glory watched curiously as the blue-haired girl rifled through her bag. The idea of food sounded good, but Glory felt like she'd throw up if she ate. She shook her head and said, "No, thanks though." Glory unwrapped her stabbed and broken hand, dipping it back in the river. With the other hand, she washed the bloodied strip of cloth as best as possible. She held her injured hand up, examining it with a sigh. The stab wound had been forced somewhat shut by the swelling from the broken bone, but it hurt like a bitch. Fresh blood was leaking slowly down to Glory's wrist, and she plunged it back into the water, hoping the swelling would go down enough to see how bad the bone was. After a few minutes, she checked her hand again, and it seemed the bone had snapped in half but wasn't displaced too terribly. Which meant yeah, it looked really fuckin' broken, but no bones had broken through the skin. Glory rewrapped it, tight enough to keep a little pressure on it but not enough to make it hurt any more than it already did. Turning her attention to the girl, Glory looked her over a moment, and she seemed familiar. "So... you're a student, aren't you?" She asked. "What are you doing out here?"

(real) Keres wonder Keres closed the box and stuffed it back in her bag looking up as glory spoke. "its no use to have me at the school when the corrupted are after me". She threw another rock it bounced of a tree and came hurtling back at her almost hitting her left sholder. " your lieutenant Dwyer correct?" She asked glory eyeing her hand that looked like it hurt like hell.

Lieutenant Dwyer ᓚ₍ ^. .^₎ Glory nodded solemnly as the student spoke. "Ah. I take it you're what's-her-face's sister?" That explained why this one looked familiar, she was the one that'd told them about Ammit. She flinched a little as the student threw a rock- and a damn good throw it was, considering she almost hit herself with it. "The one and only," Glory said, trying to smile but it was almost more of a grimace. Then an idea popped into her aching head. "You wouldn't happen to have seen L- General Anubis out here, have you?" Gotta keep it at least somewhat formal, best not to call him by his first name to a student. It was kind of like a teacher calling another teacher by name instead of Mr/Mrs Whatever. Glory noticed the student eyeing her injured hand and held it up for display. "Pretty gnarly, huh? Got stabbed, then accidentally punched a wall," She said with a snort.

Keres wonder Keres nodded "yep the snakes sister" her voice dropped ever so slightly at the mention of ammit. Though her spirit quickly came back when glory mentioned Leo. "I havent spoken to him but I caught a glimpse of him about three days ago" She waved her hand to the South "around that direction" Her jaw dropped when glory told her what happened to her hand "how does one accidentally punch a wall?" Her half curtain bangs fell around her eyes as she took a moment to process. She froze as the sound of wings clouded the air. looking up corrupted flew overhead scanning the land.

Lieutenant Dwyer ᓚ₍ ^. .^₎ Glory snorted quietly at the student's reply, but said nothing. As well as she hid it - pain tended to mask other emotions - she couldn't help the glimmer of hope welling in her chest. "Like... alive? Not at a Corrupted burial or something?" She asked. If it wasn't the latter... then it was worth it to get stabbed twice, break her hand, probably a couple of ribs. Glory smiled wanly at Keres's reaction. "Well, you try to punch a person but they dodge and you get the wall instead," She said, as though everyone went around punching people. Life would certainly be far more entertaining if people did. Glory'd probably sit in a lawn chair with a bag of popcorn all day long, just watching everyone brawl. Glory's breath caught in her throat a little as the very things she was trying to get away from flew overhead. Luckily her and Keres were well hidden from the sky by the thick forest canopy, but the Corrupted were still too close for comfort.
