The boys sat down in their cabin, having 20 minutes until lunch. Drake checked his phone for any communications, as he had put it away in his trunk while riding. No texts or calls, just social media notifications, nothing important. Drake's head snapped up from his phone when Cade started speaking. He listened intently, honestly curious for his thoughts about their first cross county session. "Yeah, thank you, I'm glad you think we did well as you're the expert here. I think starting in hand for water is great idea, I have rain boots somewhere. It's not warm enough anymore to enjoy any unplanned swims, eh?" Drake laughed, "I think just taking things slow for Wayne is good, as he's never done this before and horses don't understand things like we do, and I'm no professional." He scratched his head and paused, thinking. "I think I'm covered here, so we should start talking about you. What bothers Jazz, and what does he feel most comfortable jumping? I don't want you getting thrown or anything, that would really be a terrible first time. We don't want that" Drake sat back and unzipped his tall boots, reaching to adjust his socks that had wrinkled.

Cade listened to Drake as he talked about cross country then went on to talk about showjumping. He asked Cade about Jazz and what bothered him when jumping. "So Jazz has, to my knowlege, never done showjumping before. He's an honest horse and really wants to do the right thing but he's also decently spooky. I'm a little worried that he'll freak out at the different colors and paterns of the jumps. I was thinking, and correct me if i'm wrong but free jumping seems like a good idea. It would allow Jazz to experiance the jumps without me on him and you could get an idea of how he jumps a little better, but if you think that we should start in saddle thats fine with me." Truthfully Cade was a bit nervous for showjumping. It wasn't that different from cross country, both were jumping after all, but Cade was worried he wouldn't be any good at showjumping and would make a fool of himself in front of Drake. Drake seemed really nice, which made Cade value his opinion even more. It was almost time for lunch which meant they would have to talk more on the way to the dining hall.

Drake listened to Cade's worries, they were all valid. He'd been nervous about Wayne's reactions to new jumps, and still would be expecting a spook every once in a while for a couple months. Drake hoped it didn't snow here. That would make it really hard to do cross country in the winter. He stood up before replying, head towards the door. "Here, let's walk to the dining hall. I think free jumping is a great idea, you can't fall off if you're not on him, and he can figure out the jumps himself. They do that a lot with the young jumping prospects." The two boys walked together to the dining hall, though it was a very short distance. "I'll make sure to start you out with boring jumps, no fun patterns or colors, even Wayne gets suprised sometimes. I doubt Jazz has ever had to deal with poles before and might not expect them fall if he knocks them. I've seen it spook horses before. We can slowly work you guys into courses." Drake grabbed the door, holding it open for Cade, gesturing for him to go in before him.

As they walked to the dinning hall Cade listened to Drake. He was happy that Drake agreed with him on free jumping. He was also relived that they would work up to the colorful jumps and just start out with borning ones. Soon they got to the dinning hall and stepped inside. It was deathly quiet and there was no one else there, just the two of them. Lunch was set out on trays and they boys walked over to the table with the trays on them. Cade grabbed a plate and began to select food. He grabbed some of the chicken fingers they had as well as some salad. He grabbed a cup and filled it up with water before heading to a table and sitting down. Shortly Drake sat down with him and they began to eat. The food was really good and Cade wondered if the Jazz thought the same. He also wondered what Jazz would think of showjumping. Cade hadn't even thought of Jazz being scared of the poles falling but once Drake mentioned it, it made sense why horses would get scared of that.

Drake walked in behind Cade, letting the door fall shut. He made his way to the buffet and filled his plate. He made himself a grilled chicken sandwich with a small side salad and a cup of cold water. It may have been fall but riding was still exercise and left his mouth dry. He sat down across from Cade who had a similar lunch in front of him. Eating, Drake starting thinking more about what he'd set out for Cade and Jazz. Definitely find some boring white standards and poles. Setting up a free jumping chute wouldn't be too hard and he'd be able to do it himself. He'd start with smaller jumps, he honestly didn't know what Jazz was capable of and what Cade felt comfortable doing. Keeping it easy and boring was never a bad idea for starting something new. They finished their meal in silence and tossed out their plates. Drake and Cade walked out of the dining hall together. Walking, Drake turned to Cade, "I'd like your help setting up a course and free jumping chute. It'll be so much faster that way and then you'll know what you're doing. We can free jump Jazz and then tack up him ans Wayne."

Cade and Drake ate their lunch and put their dishes away. Drake asked Cade for help setting up and Cade happily agreed. "Sure that sounds great! I left my waterbottle in the cabin, so let me grab that first." Cade walked out of the dinning hall and into their cabin. He scanned the room for it and grabbed it. It still had some water in it and Cade walked out of the cabin with it. Him and Drake walked down to the showjumping arena. There were jump standereds and poles a bit outside of the arena and Cade and Drake grabbed some. Cade wasn't entierly sure how to set them up but he followed Drakes lead. They grabbed some white, boring standerds and boring poles. Cade thought to himself that Jazz would probley be okay with these. Once him and Drake finished setting up the jumps and the free jumping chute Cade went to go get Jazz. Jazz was a little confused as to why he was being worked twice in one day. Cade put on his halter and led him to the arena. Once he was there he waited for Drake's instuction.

Luvaine was able to quickly spot Adelle and smiled despite her rather hostile expression, approaching her in a calm manner. "Hi! Nice to see you." He chirped, putting his hands into his jacket pockets and also verbally greeting Tucker with a small 'good morning' in case she didn't want him to touch her horse. "Pleasure riding? Or are you going to practice?" He asked, noticing that most of the stallion's tack was already on him, and that she had turned away to put his bridle on when he had approached her. Luvaine wouldn't take it to heart, he knew this was just typical behavior. Adelle held the anger of ten thousand gods personified into one person, if he had to describe her. Yet, Luvaine had mad respect for her for how good she was at cutting and an amazing team she made with her horse. He certainly wouldn't want to face her in the competition arena, even if he was proficient at the sport. Yeah, no thanks. He'd stick to being able to vault over jumps in cross country with Chant. Speaking of which, he would probably need to take the stallion out on a ride soon, else he be met with his more bratty nature later on. He loved the palomino Thoroughbred to death, but sometimes he could be incredibly sassy and stubborn, always wanting to make even the simplest things difficult. "What do you think of the new people?" He asked after looking around the barn from where he was standing, making sure everything was in order for the moment before everyone returned again.

The howling wind was almost deafening around him as he urged Valiant faster towards the pair, barely able to hear her confirmation past his and Valiant's breaths. As the trees approached, the two riders crossed the "finish line" at the same time, and it took a little bit for him to get Valiant to finally slow down to a reasonable walk from the gallop they were locked in for quite a while. The bay stallion in question was breathing hard from the sudden workout as Earl asked him to turn around to head back towards the trees, but quite reluctant to slow down as he tossed his head a little bit, ruffling his mane more. Earl looked over at Shiloh and joined her, asking the stallion to get closer to Deluxe so he would be able to chat with her easier. He also laughed, leaning down a bit to pat Valiant on the neck to let him know he did a good job. "Oh, definitely! That was fun!" Earl said, sitting back up in the saddle, yet still trying to recover from the adrenaline he felt as another small laugh escaped him. "Next time, we're definitely winning!" He said, knowing how she and Deluxe had been in the lead for most of the race despite them finishing together.

"That sounds like an awesome plan, I'm starving." He admitted, remembering how he had been rather hasty to get outside and didn't spend much time eating his breakfast. "I'm sure Deluxe and Valiant would appreciate a shower or some fresh water and hay." As if confirming his thoughts, Valiant pawed the ground with his hoof, looking eager to get moving already. The forest was really beautiful, Earl was glad he was able to go on the trail despite most of it passing in a colored blur. They looked down, adjusting their clothing a little bit after it had become disheveled because of the wind that was now blowing a calming but cool breeze their way in comparison to how it had battered against them moments ago. Earl waited a little, then finally asked Valiant into a trot when he was sure the stallion was cooled down enough that it wouldn't be too taxing for him until they got back to the property. "You and Deluxe are an awesome pair." Earl said, making sure to keep the reins short so Valiant wouldn't rush too much. "You said you did reining?" He asked, just to fill the silence. If she just wanted to ride quietly he wouldn't mind that either. Valiant seemed happy to be moving again, his trot rather peppy as he kept his body language rather relaxed.

The sun beat down as what was left of the spring birds began chirping above. Shiloh leaned forward to fix deluxes forelock smiling slightly. "Definitely cannot wait to get back and eat some food" she laughed. Shiloh continued trying to fix her windbraided hair as they rode but soon gave up and let it continue to look like she had been in a tornado. "You and Valiant were pretty fast!" She chirped enthusiastically. "Maybe if I warn you before I take off it will be fair and maybe you'll win" she giggled at the thought of her taking off again without warning. The autumn sun continued to shine down across the golden fields as they walked on. Deluxe shook his head excitingly happy to be going back.

"Valiant and You are pretty good together yourselves"she said as she leaned down to rub deluxes neck."Yeah we have down it before and it's quite fun" she nodded as she looked at Earl and Valiant. "Honestly it's a really fun thing to watch too!". Shiloh continued looking at the trail almost making out the shapes of the stables in the far distance. Deluxe had begun prancing like a blown up barrel horse knowing he was close to the stables. He then began throwing his head as she tried to turn him in circles half successfully. "Don't be like this right now buddy just a bit more trotting and we'll be there soon" she spoke to deluxe trying to calm him. Deluxe continued prancing despite her hopeful words and began arching his neck and tail. Shiloh looked down and then up at Earl "Sorry about this I don't know why he's acting so hot about getting to the stables now" she glanced down slightly embarrassed her roan was acting up.
