Dark waves crash against the ominous dark sand. Something is coming. Something dangerous.
The eerie silence is broken by a shrill cry as a head emerges from the angry waters. The body follows shortly after as it places its feet one-by-one onto the sand. After separating itself from its motherhome, the water, it reveals a very horse-like creature. All of the features on the outside are alike but underneath its sinewy skin, it is very different. This... Water Horse, cries out again to any that will listen, announcing its presence to all that can hear. Its haunting shriek echoes and bounces off the damp rocks and cliffs. The creature trots around bestowing deep blemishes in the water soaked sand. It’s hungry. It needs to feed. A human figure crouches above on the rocks, out of sight. He watches the elegant creature with focused eyes. Watching its inner workings rippling underneath its dazzling, dark coat. "So the bloodbath ensues..." Welcome to the races... ~~~ Every year, three weeks after the first horse emerges, a series of three races are held. One for the three first Water Horses: Uisce, Salann, and Aer*, and they are named accordingly. Each track is a single stretch with no rails. The Uisce The first race is much like a normal horse race but more suited to the Water Horses. You must have adequate control over your mount. The track is similar to a dirt track and is 1 1/4 miles long. It is the only race held furthest from the ocean. The Salann The second race is labeled as one of the most brutal races held in the world. Held on a long stretch of pebbles high above on the cliffs, this race is well known as the elimination race. It separates the prepared riders from the faulty ones. You must have attained intermediate level control over your mount. There have been many cases where a rider has lost control of their mount and the horse flings itself off the cliff to reach the ever present call of the sea. Be careful.. This track is 1 3/16 miles long. The Aer This race, the final race, is the most difficult race recorded in the world. It is held on the beach at low tide. This is when the magic of the motherhome is strongest. Your mount will fight you the whole way in the race. You must have an advanced level of control over your horse or it will drown you in the depths of the sea. The track is 1 1/2 miles long. |

The Stable Cohbsai Costa is an elegant, but old fasioned stable with all of the buildings lined with horizontal planks of wood. There are two large barns in the central part of the stable and one smaller barn furthest from the sea. The two large barns are identical and for your average boarding horse and show horse. The barns are large gable barns with two rows of large stalls with a extra wing that juts off the side adding even more stalls. In both barns, there is a tack room and a feed room. The smaller barn is just as elegant as the rest on the outside, but inside those doors is a different story. It is much much older than the two modern barns, just merely refinished. The inside looks military and prison-like. The walls of the stalls are grey and the openings are filled with crossed bars so the horses can't stick their noses and so no one can put their hand inside. In various places, there are old blood stains. The staff have cleaned and cleaned and cleaned everything but the stains remain. This barn is for the Water Horses. Placing So it is fair, this is how the placing will work. Everyone will be assigned a number. This is your racing number. I will use a random number generator to create the placings. There will be no reroll. The placing you get is the placing you get. This will go for all the races. It is imperative that you subscribe to the discussion thread because that is where results will be posted. They will be posted before the race starts so we will all need to work together to make the race run realistically. The Water Horse The Water Horse looks like a normal horse with a few changes. Their coat color can be any color found on a horse but their eyes can be any solid color. Their skin doesn't feel like normal horse skin. It feels more like sinew. Corded tendons. Their diet consists of raw meat They can make a multitude of sounds from angry grunt and snorts to the more eerie wails. The sound it is most known for is the ear piercing shriek. It is loud and carries for miles. There have been tales of seamen being too close to one and damaging their hearing after hearing it. These horses are very dangerous and have every intent to hurt your rider. Some are more aggressive than others but the intention is still there. Never turn your back on a water horse. Water Horses are constantly being called by the sea. They feel it at all times and are drawn to it. It drives them mad to the point they will fling themselves off a cliff to reach it only to lead to its death. Every horse has a different reaction. Some will be crazed, pacing around in its stall. Others keep their heads pointed in the direction of the sea while others attempt to tug on people's heart strings by wailing and whimpering with a look of longing in their eyes. Seasoned Riders If you wish, you may have one of your characters be a seasoned rider. However, only two(2), not including mine, will be accepted. There still needs to be a good number of new riders. The seasoned riders are there to help the new riders learn about the horses as well as help train them |

Just keep in mind if someone is already using one. ;) Stable Owner Name: Ella Sinclair Age: 38yo Gender: Female Appearance: Standing at 5'8", Ella has fair, peachy skin and long blonde hair. Her eyes are hazel green with near golden flecks near the iris. She is fairly average looking with a pretty good sized baby bump. Personality: Ella is gentle and kind. She tries to find the good in everything. Including the Water Horses... Other: She is currently 6-7 months pregnant. Head Trainer Name: Jacob Sinclair Age: 36yo Gender: Male Appearance: Standing at 5'11", Jacob has tanned skin with a dusting of freckles and dark, wavy hair. His eyes are an icey blue. Personality: Jacob is more wary of the water horses than Ella which leads him to be very protective over his wife especially with a little one on the way. Other: Oversees everything from the average horses to the Water Horses Stablehands Name: Parker Goldsmith Age: 24yo Gender: Non-binary (they/them) Appearance: Standing at 6'2", Parker has olive skin and long, ebony hair. They prefer to keep it in a ponytail but occasionally leaves it down. Their angular eyes are gorgeous shade of honey brown. Parker is mostly female presenting but tends to take on a masculine style for formal wear. Personality: Parker is quiet and tends to keep to themselves. They focus on work too much and could use some encouragement to open up some more. Other: Parker and Amy are childehood friends Name: Amy Marin Age: 18yo Gender: Female Appearance: Standing at 5'4", Amy has fair skin and fiery red hair. She keeps her curly hair short due to her hatred to take care of it. Amy has round, bright blue eyes. Personality: Amy is very friendly but don't let that fool you. She does not take shit from anything especially the Water Horses. Other: Lead stable hand for the Water Horses. She has been around the Water Horses from a young age. |

However, drama between the roleplayers will not be tolerated. 5.) Please give a semi-lit discription of the characters appearances and personalities. The whole purpose of adding it is so the other roleplayers can understand how to interact with your character(s). 6.) Upon creation of your character, you will be assigned a Water Horse. These will all be made by me. 7.) Godmodding and Power Play will NOT be tolerated. It will result in an automatic ban from the roleplay. We are here to have fun and be treated fairly. 8.) Please, be respectful to your fellow roleplayers. If you have a dispute, take it up with the Mods. |

His golden blonde hair is wavy and overgrown. Very much in need of a haircut. Eli is long and lanky and very flexible. He has small scars randomly on his shoulders but he does not show them. Eli is always wearing either short or long sleeve shirts with dark breeches. His footwear of choice is black paddock or field boots. He has simple black ear piercings and always has his nails painted black. Personality: Eli is very closed off and reserved. He doesn't care much for conversation and would rather not be perceived at all. He throws himself into his work and isn't there to make friends. Eli can also be very sour and sometimes mean. This is mostly a mask, however. Eli is very passionate and really does care for people. He’s just conditioned himself for years to not care. In the comfort of his home, Eli enjoys painting and reading. He constantly listens to his music and can occasionally be heard humming along while he’s working. Personality: Safira is quieter than most water horses. She is observant and very intelligent. You do not want to have your back turned to this one.
