How long does it usually take for a auctioned horse to go to your barn.?

Fair enough. The only thing that's weird about Ps is that they can stall out at level 9 and show for multiple weeks at average to good until finally reaching schoolmaster. I don't see that happening much with higher ratings.

Perhaps breeding off the LBs has a big influence.
I can only say what has worked very well for me.

Interesting. I show mainly Es and Ws just because I breed for LBs, but my E/P combo horses almost always outperform the Ws in terms of winnings, and they tend to make a lot of money within their P discipline.

yes that makes sense too munn.. i've got a few WEE combo geldings i figure will do better long term. might be good to have a balance though and just FR the P's when they stop doing well. :/

What's you're reasoning on that Munn? They can still get 1-7 place pretty easily.

While Ps may stay in the money longer, when they get up in the higher levels, they tend to not break even with the entry fees.

Many big showing stables prefer P geldings because they don't level up as fast as E & W horses and they stay in the money longer.

Lovely filly Beltane! Especially with the champagne too <3

General question - can anyone make sense of the WB leaderboard? FR-ing rubbish foals seems to make a HUGE difference on where studs sit on the board, especially the younger studs obviously where each foal is a greater proportion of their total foals. Leviathan has moved from #9 last year to #2 this year, obviously Rhiaan and Curse aren't on there now but that only accounts for 2 places.
I'm thinking of selling one of my WWW boys next year but obviously would want to keep the strongest one. Not sure the LB is that helpful in telling me which that is!

It's 75% training, 25% production for mares I believe, probably similar for stallions? I would choose the better producer, but if that's a tie then look at training.

75% own strength and 25% production, yes. :)
Releasing weaker foals will sometimes move the stud higher on the board

Since the W rating was introduced the boards are a bit jumpy though, a lot of stallions must be really close to each other

Don't forget to enter our contests and the dues for the giveaway!

Apologizing for being a bit quiet, December is always a really busy month for me 😅

It seems like boys are just taking a little longer to "settle" than they used to. I believe Tel, Curse, Saosin, and Leviathan all didn't move up to their current positions until they were 4 or 5. It's definitely strange! Maybe just wait another year or two and see if either moves up some, Kernow?

Thanks all, that makes sense - as you say Kuewi, they are all probably quite close. I'm not expecting mine to be particularly high on the leaderboards but it is confusing when they flipflop all over it.
I obviously don't really check the other leaderboards as much but it does seem like they are more stable than the WB leaderboard for whatever reason.
