I used PPP KNN to start up my program, but once I was consistently getting PEP combos I dropped them. I do sell them though. I figure they'll be lots of help for starters, as they come from built up lines. :)

Yep, of course.
I had gotten tot he point of not keeping even most EPP combo girls before. But, starting over.... sigh.
Interesting to note, the strong PPP training 2 yr olds are all Freyr offspring!

I should have offered the EEP capture boys for sale....
I just gelded and put them in my showstring.....

If you are getting some strong PPP I definitely recommend keeping them for awhile! :)

Starting over is rough, but I'm happy you chose KNN. I would've definitely bought your EEP captures. Wild boys are definitely welcomed as I need new blood. xD

EDIT: After this year though, Caalin's Sven killed me. xD

KNN was my favorite, and my biggest focus from the start, so of course I had to get back into them.
These PPP girls will hang around since they are training pretty strongly. Who knows, they could be mere fractions of point values from being a EE or EEE horse! Since I donÂ’t have many, they will make babies for me!

If I had had the mares to test those wild boys Imwould have tried, but didnÂ’t. I had them up for public stud for free for weeks and they never got any use, so,gelded them

Ah I started off with SPP combo and PPP mares, but I mostly kept the SPP because they had silver. I ended up culling them all off a few months ago, but I'm barely breeding Ecombo. So for now I'll be keeping EPP combo mares and PPP mares. I'm still pretty quick to cull PPPs though. I can't build up any strong lines without a decent foundation!
Hopefully Leo will be stronger than he's leading on and help me build up some stronger stock!

Nice training FSF! I guess that goes to show that pedigree can matter!
Starting over is tough, but a clean slate can be refreshing!

I guess I started with the wrong horses as I never managed to breed my original PPP/PEP mares up to decent EEP combos. I eventually managed to buy two 16yo EEP mares in successive years, then both of them had an EEE colt as their last foal for me. So I ended up ditching my PPPs and PEP combos and bought a few more PEE ladies. <font class="mainlineblack">It's worked really well, there has been a huge change in my number of PEE+ foals since. But it's now been a while since my last EEE which is getting on my nerves.

I might keep the odd exception, currently I have a PPE who's on the LB and an EPE producer, and also a PEP who has produced EEE, EEP and PEE. But the rest of my main herd are all PEE+, and I also try to cull them to a certain standard to help focus my limited ebs on just the best mares.

Good job!
Breeding up in a breed as tough as KNN can be pretty difficult.
As for EEE foals, they are the icing on the cake, the cream of the crop, and even more elusive in this breed than others. So I try to view them as a total gift of luck, and remain happy with EEP foals. Those are hard enough, and if not expecting too much, it keeps the disappointment level down, haha.

Strict culling is so valuable if trying to increase quality.
It is hard, cause they are all too, pretty!
But you have seen the benefits of buckling down, and good on ya!
Yes, money wise it is an expensive breed, so it is overall better to,spend a gob on a few straws/breedings, or even purchasing new stock,,,,,than to spend the same to get heaps of only average horses.

Finally found my SvenÂ’s in the store, and even though Ledger Lord is pretty angry at me right now, I am ready for my two best breedings at rollover!

Maybe that's a good way of seeing things. I do get kind of upset when I spend millions and end up with a bunch of PEE colts though - fillies are okay as you can always work on the next generation. But one needs to take the occasional risk in this game. My game plan revolves mostly around having 6 different accounts with different breeds/aim, so I always have some good ones somewhere to make up for the disappointments.

Yep, culling these KNN is especially hard as they are all colorful - while on other accounts I can use color as a deciding factor. But it's part of why I like them too.

Good luck with sven FSF - I really do hope it pays off. I still have to make my final decisions on who gets what in terms of glasses and medallions.

Thanks for the good luck wishes. That is what it takes....luck.

Wow 6 accounts.
I can barely keep 1 going....and it is way smaller than it used to be!

As for having too much to look after on HEE accounts, I have already gone beyond my self imposed limits upon starting over. Just inasmuch as having breeds I wasnÂ’t going to have....but hey, they can be used for the SH program, right? (That is what I tell myself) except for the ISH horses....and some of those I bought late at night when tired and wasnÂ’t paying attention haha

That's pretty smart While! I'll have to look into trying that a bit!

if I were to brood this lady out this year what price should I set. I am in need of ebs and brooding out might help.
