Hooves are a pain ;P it works to just learn some anatomy of the hoof and the flock as a whole to get the more natural feel. However, from a personal point, I've been struggling with them for 6 years and still can't find a way to draw my own from scratch and make them look good xD lmao.

Lol Misha XD So the first tip for lining shorter hair (at least in my opinion) is to use quicker strokes, and less dragged out and curvy lines. If you take a look at the difference between these two; With the top, I used shorter lines which emphasizes that his hair is a little more choppy. With the bottom, I used longer, more curvy lines, to show that his hair is more voluminous and long. I hope this helps. Sorry if it's confusing!
