Is it worth growing your own hay? I'll be having over 1600 horses soon Edited at April 13, 2024 05:25 PM by Sagebrush

Personally I enjoy growing my own hay and would recommend it. I haven't bought any hay in over 2 years so its definately saved me a fat chunk of ebs. In the time when hay isn't growing I use the pastures as an overflow, just in case I get a little to excited in the auctions and need to shuffle my barns about to make room lol. Also for you having 1600+ horses I would believe it would be beneficial to have some home grown hay as overtime hay costs definately add up. . Edit: 100 slot pasture for hay: 6000 hay bales if quality is 20 200 round bales if quality is 20 Edited at April 14, 2024 06:38 AM by Zeal

Yes! Definitely worth growing your own hay! I have about 1300 horses and haven't had to buy hay in awhile because I grow my own! Buying hay from the shops does cost a huge chuck of EBs this is why I started growing my own! :)

Absolutely. I need to get back into growing hay, but my currently hay bill is 2-3M weekly, though I am cutting down on horses, so that should drop quickly. If anything, you could always sell what you don't use to others who need it 😜
