EE will make all his offspring black-based, anyway. So they'll all be smoky black or smoky cream or buckskin or perlino and not chestnut, which is what you need for Apricot. Apricot is chestnut pearl.

They have to be ee too, right? For apricot

Soooo he would be a good option for a apricot stallion? Or a bad one?

Cream is a dominant gene, as are all the rest of the coat modifiers on HEE except Pearl. Pearl is a recessive trait, like red hair in humans. You have to have prlprl to have Pearl. In the real world, Cream and Pearl may actually be alleles, but that's a recent discovery.

Correct about Ch/Ccr Thunda

But if you're trying for apricot, Ccr (if I remember correctly) and Ch will block Apricot.

AL - Yeah I just group pearl in with cream when it comes to understanding genes. The PrlPrl is confusing to me 😂

Prl is the only "backwards" gene.

If you have prl or prlprl think of them like you would any other hetero or homo gene, but the lowercase is dominant.

Is it worth growing your own hay? I'll be having over 1600 horses soon

Personally I enjoy growing my own hay and would recommend it. I haven't bought any hay in over 2 years so its definately saved me a fat chunk of ebs. In the time when hay isn't growing I use the pastures as an overflow, just in case I get a little to excited in the auctions and need to shuffle my barns about to make room lol. Also for you having 1600+ horses I would believe it would be beneficial to have some home grown hay as overtime hay costs definately add up.
.
Edit:
100 slot pasture for hay:
6000 hay bales if quality is 20
200 round bales if quality is 20

Yes! Definitely worth growing your own hay! I have about 1300 horses and haven't had to buy hay in awhile because I grow my own!
Buying hay from the shops does cost a huge chuck of EBs this is why I started growing my own! :)

Absolutely.
I need to get back into growing hay, but my currently hay bill is 2-3M weekly, though I am cutting down on horses, so that should drop quickly.
If anything, you could always sell what you don't use to others who need it 😜
