I have been on this game for quite awhile, and I have seen players use the match making feature. I myself have never used or even looked at it before as I felt it was too complicated. But, I have now decided to actually try it out. But I have absolutely no idea how it works or what it is supposed to do.

So, if anyone could be so kind as to give me some advice and help with this then that would be great.

Basically, the match making feature allows you to look through mares and studs to see who would do well together without needing to comb through your barns. After you breed a mare, she no longer shows up in the breeding center, so the match maker simply makes it easier to plan matches for the following years.

Is that all? So basically it brings up the needed stats to see who might breed well the next year?

If that is so, then what would be considered a good match to bring the chances up to breed a good rated horse?

I have heard that it has something to do with stats, something like matching horses that have weaker stats in let's say int, then breeding with another horse strong in that stat would increase the chance of breeding better?

Well that's as far as I got, I am not sure if that is wrong or if I should be looking at something else.

It brings up the training chart visible on the horse's page. It looks the same as what you see on the breeding center page. The only real difference is that instead of breeding the horses instantly, the pairing is marked in the match maker to remind you that you wanted those two to breed at a later date.
Matching is a delicate process that takes a lot of time to get the hang of, but generally there are two ways people pair horses for ratings. Firstly, they match strengths up and try to put weaknesses with things the other horse isn't weak in. Secondly, you could match strengths and weaknesses so that if a horse is weak in something, the other is strong in it. that's what you heard of, and that does make it more likely the foal would have stronger intelligence.
If you want better foals, using LB studs generally helps, but the random factor catches us all.

Oh okay, thank you very much. I bet it might take awhile but I hope I can get the hang of it on this account. My other needs some work, but I'll put all that knowledge to use here since this stable is much smaller. xD
