What do you look for when matching horses? I decided to try matching my mares for the next RO but IÂ’m slightly unsure of what to look for when matching them. I have a feeling it would include their rating and training, but I wanted to know how others match their horses for breeding?

There are a few pretty good guides.

In short:Track your horses' training to work out the strengths and weaknesses. You need to train your horses in all disciplines for that. Then find a stud or a mare that is strong in the traits your horse is weak in.

If I have a PEE stud, should I look for a EEP or better mare? Does the combo order make a difference? If I stud him out and he is PEE...what would be the best breeding combo limit to set?

I got my PEE KNN stud up for breeding with a combo limit of EPP. In general I'd say a horse with a P in let's say dressage needs a horse strong in dressage traits. However my PEE stud is actually strong in mv and weak in scp so you still need to test your horses to find a good match.
