Hello, I started playing this game about a month ago and I kind of grasped the basics but some stuff I recently found out has me a bit confused! So you know how the horses have ratings right? Well, am I wrong to make my horses training sessions and discipline of the highest rating? For example, I have a mare at my barn I recently bought named "Genesse" and she was originally trained in all disciplines but I changed it to cross country since I thought it best fitted her since she was Elite in it. But the past two recent shows she was entered in she was in bad places.{Note: I don't have any history on her past shows if she was entered in it by her previous owner}. Does this have something to do with the training sessions? Maybe because I recently changed it? Does the rating matter on what your horse may be best at? Please feel free to PM me personally if you'd like!
Also, my second question is what does it mean when your horse is "refusal eliminated?"

First Question: yes, in general you'd put a show horse in its best discipline, so if you plan to show her, it's best to keep her in CC. She was probably trained in AD because her previous owner wanted to check her strengths and weaknesses. (you can check out a few guides on that subject in the guides sektion of the forum). However an E rated horse doesn't start better than a lower rated horse. Any horse can do well in shows. The only difference is that the higher the rating the faster a horse trains and levels up, therefore giving you more money sooner because it shows in higher classes. Whenever a horse has leveled up, it will start from the bottom up in its new class (no matter what rating it has). An E rated horse should need about 4 weeks training (in AD) and maybe 3 weeks in SD. the lower the rating, the longer your horse needs to train to be ready to show. In general you want two training bars for each level. Your level 2 mare currently has 4 bars in all CC disciplines (hrt, spd, str), so she's close to be ready to show. Keep her in CC and wait a week, then enter her again and see how she does. She should be in the money by then.
Second Question: it means that your horse refused so often a jump, that it got eliminated from the show. Geldings very low in hrt tend to do that as well as not cycle suppressed mares.

Ohhhh! That makes sense, thank you so much for replying! So I also stopped entering the horses that have 5 or lower training experience since it's a waste of money but how could I get my horse to stop refusing? It's my male stallion "Obsidian Fury" in my ranch. He seems to be struggling in CC :( So I guess I will just not enter them in anymore and continue to train them? |

Train, but don't show. For example, I breed all my horses in bulk on the first of every month. After, I ignore all my foals (I train, but don't show) until they're yearlings. If a horse places 8th or worse (out of the money) then wait and show them again the next week and see how they do.

Ohh okay! So update what I’ve been doing is that when the horses aren’t “green” when I check the showing in my barn I will not put them up! Is this correct? |

That's correct.
Give them another one or two weeks training and see how they do after that. |
