I here about this horse all the time but he is in a different breed then I am so never thought much of it. Today I was checking the pedigree on a couple of the horses I bred to. Will one has the Darkling a couple times in his pedigree. Can someone please tell me why he is such a great horse? I am starting to look more at horses from the LB. He was the #1 ablb horse for a while. He has since retired.

So people are still seeking his blood line. In real life I can understand this but this game does not seem to follow genes that close. So what is the big deal if the horse is 2-3 generations back?

This will vary from stable to stable, but for me, a top ABLB sire 2-3 generations back is not as important as whether the foal's sire/dam are high on the ABLB themselves. But, some stables just like to see -any- ABLB presence in a foal's pedigree; it usually indicates a stronger foal than one without, as stables typically send their best mares to top sires. I love looking at bloodlines, especially when they have top horses in them, but I don't think it has too much affect on them. I still believe it has something to do with the foal, even if it's a little bit.
