so I just bred my PPE mare with a an EEE stallion, and the foal is SSS. How does this work?
How do I get PEE/EE foals?
thanks.

Foals are a combination of the sire and dam's weaknesses and strengths, plus a random factor that can swing in either direction, making the foal stronger or weaker. EEE x PPE producing SSS is unfortunate, but not unheard of. Make sure you are matching the strengths/weaknesses properly, and using good breeding stock - horses that consistently produce their own ratings or better. :)

Unfortunately the dam isn't the best producer. She's got several SSP and SPP combos in her breeding history and has never produced anything better than herself. As her training isn't tracked you can't match her properly. As far as one can tell from her training bars, she seems to have similar weaknesses as the stud. All these factors combined with random factor not being on your side resulted in the foal.

After that SSS would probably not breed her anymore.
Considering you paid 10k for her, I would keep and show and brood her out. She's decently levelled so she could make some nice income.
Regarding the tracking. Each week you can train your horses once and that's how the stats and the level go up. When you need to figure out the strengths and the weaknesses of the horse, you have to train them in all disciplines. Foals start with no bars at all, but then at week 4 and specially at week 5, their bars start to go up. Naturally, the more and the earlier you have bars up, the stronger the horse is likely to be (careful, horse can still be a bad producer even with good training). So, if your horse gets some bars up on week 4, what is done, is note it down on the remarks. Bar that goes up = strong. Then at week 5 is when they tend to show weaknesses cause you see all the bars going up except maybe 1 or 2, even 3. That means the horse is weak there. So basically, you go doing that every week that you train. You see if something has changed.
Let me put you an example: https://horseeden.com/horse.php?id=18620248
This fella is on week 8. Week 8 tends to be better reference on strengths than week 4. If you look at the bars, you see the one that is up is Scope, that's his strong point. Now, if you look at his remarks at the bottom, I have written down how he has been levelling. As you see, week 8 is 222322. I simply counted the bars on each trait and wrote them down. Then, I also like to put Strong: Weak: So when the horses show their strengths and weaknesses I put it there and is easier to match. Some horses take time to show their strengths/weaknesses so just keep tracking that. They can even change so keep an eye on it.
