Aussie - It's recommended to leave Highland heifers until they are 24 months opposed to 12 months like other cattle breeds. They are slower developing breed

I have been looking at horses trying to find good matches.
Which is better, A horse with EEE rating or a Horse with the better training.
I see so many PEE combos that have better training then an EEE. Same ABLB sire.

Depends on the gender.

EEE studs are better, regardless, whereas if I had the choice between an EEE mare with sucky training and a PEE mare with better training, I would go for the PEE

I have a young stud that is a SH. I mainly have PON. He is a PEE and was up 4 on week 4. His training is above many of the EEE stallions that have an EEE. Even some on the ABLB. He has an ABLB sire and his Dam is on the SH LB. I do not have a mare to truly see what he can produce. He has produced an EPE and a PEE on OK mares, rate PEP combo type mare.
I have been looking for a LB mare for him. I may have found one. Depends on if I am outbid. I have put him out for people to use and I get zero response. Was just wondering if was that I am doing something wrong or if it is just that he is a PEE.

A PEE could be stronger than an EEE, but usually not. That P is a weakness compared to the EEE, but if the other two Es on the PEE are significantly stronger than those on the EEE, it will be the stronger horse.

Training isn't always the tell all. A PEE could train up 4/6 week 4 but produce like absolute crap, while an EEE could train up 2/6 week 4 but make the ABLB and produce EEE's. So although training can sometimes tell relatively how good a horse could be, it isn't an indication of a stronger or weaker horse necessarily.

OK, I a starting to understand some. Gets confusing.
My Pee does produce nicely but not as well as his sire.
If he had better mares I am sure he could produce an EEE just not as easily as his sire. Looking to find a good mare for him to test him to his best.
