I think initially I got into PON bravery because I wanted to breed PON, but I suck at making ebs on my SAs so I didn't want to do AD. It's fun though. Infuriating, but fun.

Ok, I see all these posts and chit-chats about matching horses for breeding. And I don't understand what exactly you are supposed to look at when "matching." What exactly are you looking for to match up horses? Their stats or....? Can someone explain please and thank you? <3

You look at the bars for Mv, Int, Hrt, Scp, Spd, Str. These show the horse's potential in each of these areas and are reflected in the horse's ratings. If the horse has trained in all disciplines its whole life or at least the first 12-16 weeks and been tracked you'll have an unbiased idea of where its strengths and weeknesses lie. This is why owners of high rated horses track their horse's training. The idea is to find a mate who has more potential in the areas your horse has less and your horse has more potential in the areas they have less so it evens out. This gives you a better chance at higher ratings in their offspring.

Ok. That makes more sense. So then it's better to wait until each of the potential parents have had a decent amount of training before breeding? When would be the best time to look into breeding in this manner? After 12 weeks or so of training? Or?
I only recently discovered how to track training in the horses remarks so I'm trying to learn. I've always just bred whoever and gone by colors. So this would probably explain why I've had so few foals come out with decent stats.

You don't have to wait. Even by the wk 8 you'll have a good idea of where the horse stands, will be able to do a decent job of matching, and may get a great result. It's just that sometimes the later training can give you even more specifics. For example maybe the training looks something like this: wk 4: 121122 wk 5: 222222 wk 8: 232233 wk 9: 333333 wk 12: 343344 wk 13: 444344. Even when the horse has just reached breeding age you'll know they're weaker in Mv, Hrt, and Scp, but you might decide to breed to a horse who's strong in Mv and Hrt and iffy on Scp. On their wk 13 you'd become aware that they're worst in Scp and then know you definitely need to prioritize that when matching. If it makes you feel better I only figured this stuff out myself within the last month. I hope you're able to get better ratings now :)
