Sorry if this is an obvious or dumb quesiton, but I went to breed horses and it said "Sadly the foal was lethal white and perished.". Obviously the foal had died but could someone shed more insight on it. What's the percentage of it happening everytime you breed? Is it because of the mare or stallion, or is it random?

It happens when you breed Frame x Frame and White x White.

It happens when you breed a Frame X Frame or a White x White . Theres a guide somewhere that has the percentages. To be safe, I would just suggest not breeding frame x frame or white x white :) . Lethal white is also a condition in real life horses, and you can google it to learn more about it

Two coppies of the White gene "W" or two copies of the Frame gene "O" will result in a lethal white foal. . Frame x Frame can result in Oo 50% chance has frame gene oo 25% no frame gene OO 25% lethal white. . Same goes for the white gene. Also as Lucky said it's a real life condition so if you want to read up on what it ia you can google. :) Edited at July 10, 2020 08:39 AM by Wind River Estates

You have a 25% or 50% chance of getting a lethal white foal by breeding together two frames or two whites. --- In real life, foals can have lethal white syndrome. A foal with this will never survive. It basically causes the foal to have digestion problems or difficulty extracting feces. This leads to colic, intestinal cramping, and then death. Edited at July 10, 2020 08:40 AM by California Valley
