Anglo-Arabs can't carry Lp; but then how come they can have PATN? I'm guessing perhaps once upon a time, appy AA's existed in the game, but then why did the Lp genes go away but not the PATN genes? You can also still find dun and tobi AA's though they can't be captured anymore either. Check the genetic test on this guy for an example. Just in case someone feels they need to point out, yes, I know he's not an appy, he has manchado. It was just coincidence he has PATN and manchado spots. ;) I've seen PATN in other AA before too, though Edited at October 9, 2022 08:24 PM by Clear Water Stable

Any horse in the game can carry PATN - this is not restricted at all. But only the combination with LP and PATN will express the gene and show up in an appaloosa patterned coat. So whenever the gamescript creates a new horse by capturing, there is only the restriction which breed may carry LP and which one may not. But there is not any restriction on the PATN gene and this is why there are a lot of horses with PATN in the game, despite the fact that this breed will not come with an appaloosa pattern. I have seeen several WBs and TBs with a PATN before, too ;)

Thanks, Kuewi! I wondered if that was the case. Too bad can't get Lp bred into AA's. ;P
