I think that I have discovered a bug or at least something that should be addressed. My breeding partner and I agreed on a match for an embryo... however, my mare was lower than her stallions breeding requirements... so she dropped them so I could create an embryo. After I created it, she put her stallion back to his normal breeding requirements... well, now I am ready to implant the embryo. I always thought that you could use crap mares for any embryos. I tried impanting it in a SAS that I captured and it tells me that I cannot breed because the stallion has (EEE/E) restrictions. So basically, right now.. I have an embryo that I cannot use. The stallion owner has offered to lower the restrictions again so I can implant.. but I see a loop hole that should be addressed... because sometimes you may not still have access to the horse (mare or stallion) to adjust those ratings again...for many reasons... possible sale of the horse or even death of the horse..or if a player goes on hiatus...

I don't think thats a bug. When you create an embryo, you're not breeding the horses together until its implanted into a surrogate hence why you were blocked from breeding. You can use any rated surrogate such as your SAS no matter the breeding requirement, but the mare that you got the embryo from has to meet the stallion's breeding requirements throughout the whole process. In other words, it wasnt the surrogate at fault, it was your mare no longer meeting the stallion's breeding requirement

That does not make complete sense to me... the stallion owner was aware my donor mare was lower than her stallion and we agreed we though it would still be a nice match to try... so she lowered him so we could create the embyro (right there... to me that should be a vialble embryo to plant into any other mare... no exceptions.. because at that point the stallions requirements were met since it was lowered on purpose).

Yes but the stallion would have had to keep the lowered standards when the embryo was being used. You did get blocked because of ratings, but it wasnt the surrogates ratings that blocked you. Its a 2 step process: making the embryo and then using the embryo. For both parts your mare has to meet the breeding requirement. If the game allowed you to make an embryo and then use it when the breeding requirements no longer matched, then that would be a faulty system

Still does not make sense to me. An embryo should not be allowed to be created if it cannot be used.

The game checks breeding restrictions when the embryo is created, and when it is implanted. If you are trying to create an embryo that goes against breeding restrictions then you are out of luck unless you talk to the stallion owner. This is not a bug.
