I'm thinking of selling my current horse because even as someone who has been riding for years and has rode under professionals, I've decided she is too much horse for me. I just want to get on and ride, not have every ride be a hard schooling ride
Someone I know who's bought a horse over 30k has tons of behavioural and temperament issues they have to deal with when handling said horse XD a horse can be a good or bad horse regardless of price
While horse shopping once I did a trial ride on a horse that supposedly gave rides to kid. The horse couldn't handle my legs being relaxed on its side it was so hot. That was scary.
Our own neighbor tricked us into buying a $5000 untrained overo paint mare🙃 We didn't really know anything about buying horses; my mom trusted the woman because she'd been a friend to her but yikes, that mare was green and we spent another couple thousand for proper training
Rapcoon, maybe I could ask one of the other players to make a horse avi for me, since the mods wonÂ’t let me use a picture from unsplash or Deviantart. They are saying that it will break the game rules.
I agree KPH. If you buy a horse for cheap you gotta be prepared to put work into them, but most people aren't. All they see is a deal. If I ever buy a horse I estimate I will have to pay around $15k since I need one that is calm and can handle my anxiety.
You definitely have to be careful but sometimes people will try and trick you into a bad sale even if it's a pricier horse :) just have to be careful in general
Also said $200 horse won over $5000 in prize money in one summer from both western and english shows. She was also leased to a lesson program for a year where she was a fan favourite
Most EWEs are going for 100-300k these days depending on color. I just paid 300k for a good-training gray EWE TB mare (that tbh I probably overpaid for).
