Hiya!! I have started to get back into art recently, and this is my most recent completed piece. I am sort of looking for some advice/guidance/critique on it - feel free to be nit-picky and ruthless, I need to know my weak points! I am also looking for pricing/tier advice. Right now, I would probably put myself at low/middle tier 2, as I am not the best at grounding etc. but let me know your thoughts! And for pricing, this piece was recently sold for 350k, I don't know if that was a good price bracket or not? . Thank you in advance <3 . Edit: I have just realised I have forgotten to fix the tail, I'll do that later xD Edited at January 20, 2024 10:02 AM by Sungold Eventing

Oooo I love this piece.
If you can make art consistently like this, you'd 100% be in T1. I'd happily pay 250-300k for a horse Avi - 350-450k for all cuts.

That's the biggest thing-consistency. If this one came out really well like this but the others... not so much, i'd say T2. However, if you can consistently make art like this, T1 would suit you. Another thing is complex and happy patterns, it looks like you've got tobiano down really well, but how well can you do sabinos like this or this? Or even appy patterns like this? What I'm asking is if you opened a T1 art shop, how confident in your ability to do whatever patterns customers throw at you?

I agree, consistence is key! I think (/hope) that I am fairly consistent, however I may hover around T2 just to make sure that I am confident on my pattern abilities. I am fairly confident on sabino, however peacock is not my strong point! KPH Equestrian said: Zomb said: Oooo I love this piece.

One thing right off the bat, although I do love this piece, to me the horse is green. It has way greener tones than the bg. The bg hues are very blue. To match the horse to the bg better, take a brush and a new layer and color over the horse with a color from the bg. Then go and either 1. Overlay it, 2. Soft light it, or 3 hard light if. And then just play with the opacity of those layers. . If the horse is still green and off, it's probable best to play around with the color balance again. . Oh, and that, is just me being nitpicky. :D Edited at January 20, 2024 12:21 PM by Tranquility

Thank you!! I agree, I tried to change the hue of the horse but I think I chose more of a greeny-blue than a colour matching the background!

Love this piece! Personally I'd start out as high tier 2, but you are very close to tier 1.
