Another time i just had it sitting on the seat, we were near a river which was known for crocs but was generally safe, a few days before we got there a croc had came up like 500m out of the river and took someones dog.
So i was prepared that night too, but thankfully didnt need it.

The rules are different for each state, But i kept it locked away under our seat and didnt mention it.

The only time i got it out was one night in remote QLD at like 3 in the morning we woke up to loads of howls really close, we could hear the dingos trotting around us in the dark. We had dogs, so i was worried about them.

I got the gun out quickly and let a shot off and they all cleared out.

i think a gun might be a bit much, probably won't go near any waterholes, i'm careful and i didn't think you were meant to travel with a gun?

Definitely, be very careful. Take your gun with you. We travelled with mine hidden and locked away.

Generally what most people do is go to a spot, work there for 1-xxx weeks and then head off again.

We met an artist who was travelling around doing commissions at private caravan parks/station stays. They were painting their Toilets to look like a barn!

My dream is to visit Canada, I really want to go over there

Fruit picking sounds good, I have never done it but have a good friend who owns a cherry business who often has pickers there in the season

Oh Aussie, there are loads of jobs, In WA they always want people to help out on Station Stays. Barn Hill Station is a great one, right on the beach. Youll get accomodation, a wage and live in a beautiful location for a while.

Hello! I am in need of advice Â… so calling all you amazingly talented and experienced artists!!! <3 <3 <3

1. What are y 'all's different techniques for resizing images??
I use photoshop. The way that I resize my images to fit within the under 100,000 bytes/ 500 pixels rule is when I finish a piece I resize it down to under 500 pixels by going to Image > Image size > and then type in 499 for the width, which automatically changes the height to 499 if it is a square. The resolution is automatically set to 72 (I have no idea what that does) and after that I press the save button in photoshop which takes me to the little slider thing where I can slide the slider down to under 100,000 bytes. I hope that makes sense. All of my settings are pretty much on default because I don't know how they work.

Anyways if you use photoshop, what are your settings set on for resizing? I find that when I resize the image it reduces the quality a ton, and when I compare the quality to other HEE arts it looks like lower quality than other ones that have been resized. I have included an example below.

2. I am looking for any and all critique please!!!
C'mon gimme all you got :3 I have included 3 recent art examples and I want y 'all to really and truly tear them apart!! I know I have loads to work on already but it is always good to hear specifically from other people too.

3. Based on the examples what do you think my art is worth *for an auction?*
I already tried an art shop and decided it just wasn't for me, so no I do not have an art shop --however, I do auction off my art on occasion and I have really been juggling AB and SB prices. I have pretty much settled on SB of 40k and AB of 125k, does that sound like a good price to you all or should I go lower?

Thanks so much to anybody and everybody with input! I really appreciate it :)

1. I resize with a site so i can't help with that lol
2. They need more shadowing: on thier feet and legs, anywhere the light isnt hitting directly (such as the bay example the chest could use a bit of shading to look more real), also where the hair falls on the body, etc.
3. The SB should be pretty low because then you have a better chance of a bid war starting lol so id do 15k or so the AB could be a bit lower maybe 100k but that's your choice :)
Goodluck!

I can give you my tips on what I do when it comes to resizing.
The thing is, the less transformations an image goes through, the better.
I have tried different things, like working with a bigger size and then resizing the whole thing but it didn't look as good as when working with the final size.

Here is what I do in the end:
I work with the horse on the original size, but when it comes to doing the whole piece, I do it already on the size that is going to finally be. So like, I copy the final horse version and paste it on the final layout. Then I resize with the transform tool (ctrl + t) by setting the option of transformation more focused on the control bar, so it doesn't lose details.
Then I do the same with the background.

When it comes to saving the final product, I go to Export > Save for web. That drops the weight of the final piece a TON without losing the quality. You also have another control option before saving that also allows you to focus the image.

Regarding the resolution, I am going to explain you. Keep it always at 300 ppp.
That's pixels per inch. So like, this is basically what defines the quality of an image.
If you have 72 instead of 300, you are going to lose a lot of detail because you have less colour dots in one inch. Obviously an image that is 300 is going to be heavier, that's why you export to web the way I told you before.
