Chimera, it's personal preference. Higher COI is more inbreeding for a horse and some people prefer lower COI in their horses

I really want to improve my art and I've been trying to do more colour changes but I have no idea where to start or what to do. I have done them in the past but they aren't that great so I'm looking for a tutorial and tips on colour changes and body prep
Thanks

if you press the button that has the brush/eraser, then a menu should pop up, after that you should press the one that says filter, after you press that, then click the color change one then chose a color. <3

Just going straight to mono color rarely works, though. Go to filters, and completely desaturate it. Greyscale! Then you can toy with mono color, hue-saturation-lightness, contrast, etc.. You can also make a new layer, make its setting "color", and mess around drawing with that to see if you can get your desired color. Usually a mix of the two works for me. If you are changing to something like bay which needs leg fade, use the %40 or %60 airbrush on a new layer in black, lower the opacity however much makes it blend well, then go to filters and mess with contrast-brightness to make it match the image if need be. And for body prep, I'm still figuring out what works best, but duplicating the horse layer and messing around with a %34 smudge brush seems to work nicely! You can go over the same spot a couple times if it isn't as smudged as you'd like. As per usual, follow muscle curves and don't go against the flow of the figure. Once done, you can toy with opacity if you'd like, then clip and merge this layer with your first horse layer. On another layer, take the soft brush on 1.6 and do highlights in white. Then lower opacity however much you need to and use the blur tool, around %18, on all of the lines so that they blend well.

When smudging, be sure to alpha lock your layer!

Recently I've been changing the mono colour, the hue, saturation and lightness , the grey scale and the colour balance until I am happy with it. To make markings I play around with it a little until the horse is white and then I do the markings in black, after that I change their mono colour and it looks pretty awesome
