It’s important to be able to budget and save, but having good breeding studs and mares has definitely helped. If you’re paying for a top brood, or an insane color combo especially if it’s an auction you’d be surprised how high they go for.

Is it worth doing commisssions? November 26, 2020 02:58 PM

So I have a couple of questions, my first one being one that I'm kind of yes and no on?
Is it worth it to do commissions?
I have in the past but I always feel bad for not getting the art done within a certain amount of time and I end up closing shop because I lose the ability to do art and the motivation for it.
But.. I have the want to do it again and I've had fun doing art and having it serve as a palette header. So I'm looking for yes/no on opening shop and what my art might be worth?

I think if you feel like you might lose motivation in the future you can always do PM only commisions, that way you can see how long you can go doing that and then if you reach say maybe 2 months doing that you open up a shop. And do not feel bad about getting art done in a certain amount of time, because art takes forever and life will always get in the way. Just remind yourself of that.
As for how much I think tier three prices would be good, anywhere from 10-15k I think. But you can always make a few pieces to auction to gauge how much people might be willing to pay. I would say do maybe 5 auctions and then find the average of those winning bids.. And no AB! AB will cheat you when you first start out
