So I'm getting back into art and I can't for the life of me resize the piece I made. When I do it either cuts the image or absolutely kills the quality. Do I just need to make it on the 500x500 to start with?

I usually try to do it on a 1500x1000 base. Then I take it and move it to a 500x500, and then use the unsharp filter (if you're on ibis paint x)
Then to compress it (specifically for a horse avi) I go to a compressing website and do it there

I do the same thing! Ibis seems to take quality away sometimes so I try my best to stay away from resizing there
