Definitely looks like you're not done yet but I'd overlay some of the background colour, especially in your shading and lighting-it's ll bring the horse into the background and kind of unify the image as a whole. Also add in a shadow of course :)

I'd try to give the horse a bit more detail-it's lovely, just a little blurry!

I have the same problem. The more painted style doesn't seem to be as popular. The only person I saw be able to sell it was Quizzical, but even they stopped.
