So, I've been doing art for a little over 3 months now and wanted to see if I've made some more improvements and what I might still need work on. I know my art isn't going to be anything great since im working on my phone with just my fingers but maybe one day I'll upgrade to a tablet or at least get a pen to use lol. I've had quiet a few orders and done a few auction pieces that have done really well. Let me know what you guys think of my art, maybe pricing, and if I seem like I'm on the road to going to the next teir eventually:) ☆ Here's some of my new most recent pieces:) Edited at August 16, 2023 04:41 PM by Lilac Fields

Your grounding has gotten sooo good lilac! I think your art is beautiful. The only critiques I have are pretty minor, but they will give so much pop to your art. - 1. I have learned from tutorials and simply looking at other artists work on this game about hair. Your hair is beautiful, but I think it would look even better if you do the highlights where the light is hitting the horse. Yours is all along the horses mane and in strips. Try making the highlights look like they are flowing along the strands! I would recommend looking at Polarestas hair tutorials for more elaboration :) it helped me immensely. - 2. As I said, your grounding has improved so much, but I think it would look even better if you add shadows and highlights to the horse to match the lighting. This will make the horse look even more meshed into your chosen background. I personally select a slightly off-black color for shadows and I use the lightest color on the background for the highlights. I do not have a link for a tutorial, but I would recommend looking at other artists pieces and really paying attention to even the smallest details. I promise you it helps so much! - 3. Very minor detail and it is probably a personal preference, but I will add it anyways lol. Blurring the shadow of the horse just a little helps make it look a little more realistic imo. - These are all pretty minor details that have helped me time and time again. I hope it also helps you :) Edited at August 16, 2023 05:34 PM by Calico Acres

Yea I think my main thing is hair at this point, it's the hardest for me when making my pieces. Trying to make hair realistic to flow with my art is sooo hard. Ive been working on body prep and adding colors into the shadows and highlights to match the background. But I also agree on the shadow I think it would look more realistic!

That looks great! The only thing I'd remember to add is a shadow under the mane area :) Lilac Fields said: Okay I think this one is definitely a step in the right direction with the hair, at least I hope lol

First of all, I just want to say congratulations on your son! I genuinely didn't know what age group you were in haha (I'm 24). Sometimes a art break is needed, I just got off one myself. You have improved a ton girly, like I'm actually so proud of you!! The hair is looking amazing too! I may circle back and look closer and give critiques, I'm just at work now haha

Thank you so much, I'm a bit younger lol, 19. The break was definitely needed and I would love to hear some advice when you get the chance!
