So a few days ago, my brother was cleaning out the tortoise enclosure/tank for our redfoot tortoise, Chad, and he left the door open to his room where Chad is currently kept. It is cold here in Washington and Chad is pretty small but we are looking into upgrading his tank already because he is growing so fast. He will still be an indoor tortoise. Anyways, my brother left his bedroom door open and nothing was blocking off the stairs so Maggie figured she would come up and waltz into the room. Since Chad always gets time out of his enclosure for a little while every two days or so to explore a little and exercise, we happened to just have him out at that time. Well Maggie has never met Chad before other than through the class of his enclosure and both of them seemed very curious of each other. We worried that Maggie would hurt him or he would hurt her. And we were most afraid that she would lick him or something. But when she came in the room, she was kind of scared of him XD which was so odd because she normally acts so brave. Chad was not afraid of her at all and made his way over to her and she was next to me but she became curious and went towards him and was so very careful. She stretched out across the floor and sniffed him, never touched him but just sniffed and watched him carefully. I have some photos which I will post when I get on my laptop. I was of course watching them closely to make sure they were good. But after about 10 minutes or so, they both relaxed. Chad was more interested in a cardboard box and maggie just wanted to watch him while sitting next to me.
