Update!: We have been moved from 7th in the picking order to third and then to first. The puppy we have had our eye on since she was born is still avaliable. My parents took a trip to the breeders today to look at the puppy while I was working to see her and check out the property. I have just got back from work and my siblings had taken part of a video call to see the pups and the facility since we could not all physically be present. Both pups that we had been looking at were beautiful but we are looking primarily at a beautiful dark red fawn female. Another update will be posted shortly with a picture of the pup we have purchased :D

Meet Maggie. Her name was decided by my family as a whole. When we lived in Australia, there was a Magpie that would come in my house every day to eat the bugs from the door tracks and just watch us. So we named the Magpie Maggs. Maggie is meant to be a reflection of the time my family spent there. The image was taken today. She is 4 weeks old in this image and we will bring her home July 2nd. This image is of her at a few hour old:

So I realized in my very first post, I adressed an issue of price. Maggie was not and is not cheap. She was more than we really wanted to spend on a puppy but we couldn't resist. Though we were ranged for her to be between 2 and 4 thousand USD, she is in the very very upper part of that price range. The reason for this is partially due to her color and then her gender but mostly because she will be ideal for a french bulldog's build and look based on a vet examination. Not only that but french bulldog whelping or birthing is not cheap since they can not be naturally bred and femaled have to have a c-section. Her color - dark red fawn - is actually considered rare but not as rare as the blue like her brother in the second image above. Now her sire was a fawn pied(not a red like her) and her mother was white. so she was a bit of a suprise for everyone including the breeders. Another thing to talk about is puppy mills. My parents went and looked at the breeder's property and the nursery and everything else. The nursery was a heated trailer that was quite large and very very clean. Each female had her own box with her puppies that was large enough for them to comfortably move around in. The breeders help teach the puppies their names and let all of the dogs out(not at the same time) to get exercise. They hand feed all of the puppies when the females need a break and they take them into their house when they feed them since they take the pups by litter. Since they keep their french bulldogs, english bulldogs and german shepherds separate, they all have their own nursery trailer and all three are very well kept and clean. No, they do not have a puppy mill or breeding farm. Their German shepherds are not breeding dogs, they are actually working and guard dogs that they use to watch over their sheep and livestock. My parents could tell that these people definitley care for each one of their animals and they are amazing people in general. We are very happy to have gone with these people and proud to be getting our puppy from them.

Hi everyone! My count down is now at 1 day YAY! My family is so excited and after tomorrow, Maggie will be coming home with us. We are totally prepared and have everything set up for her. She has a large variety of toys, 3 collars, a little hoodie(it gets really cold here and she is a short haired bulldog) and we are crate training her. Of course we have all of the other essentials such as puppy pads, food and water bowls, puppy food(the stuff the breeder has been using) and some treats that will be great for training. Its going to be an exhausting few weeks since she will have to be taken outside every 2 hours even at night - though if she is asleep we are definitley not going to wake her up. She will still sleep in her crate just until we can trust her around the house. We have put up everything she can get into though.

I do have to ask, how much are you guys paying for this pup? Reason being, if you're paying that much money for a dog, I'd expect both sire and dam to be fully health tested Edited at June 30, 2020 10:42 PM by Timber Canyon

For her, we have paid between 3000 and 4000 USD(i am not going to give the exact price because I am not entirely sure what that was but I know it was in that range). Both parents have been completely health tested and the breeders are well known for the health of their pups. The "puppy mill" incident was an attempt at defamation on the part of an angry customer which has fortunately been cleared up and addressed by both the breeders, recent customers and old customers all of which have said that the breeders are excellent and none of them have had health problems with any of their dogs :) we also have a one year warranty on her so that if(the rare event occurs) something does happen such as a breeding related health issue, the breeders will cover it ;) Edited at July 1, 2020 01:52 AM by Daranyx

I realized it has been FOREVER since i posted here. For Christmas, Maggie did get her own presents and has been loving the snow. We have taken her out sledding with us and she has become quite the social pup. She does really well offleash and onleash and is honestly such a fantastic pup. She will be 2 on May 1st.
