05:16:09 Gosky You can't be too old either for a shelter dog... |
05:15:38 Gosky If I didn't want to train a therapy dog i would have also thought about a shelter dog, but getting a shelter dog here is hard. As for money, they are like 250 to 500 euro while i paid almost 2 k for a pup with papers. But shelters got such harsh requirements. You can't be working full time, but need a job too. You need a fenced garden, preferably no stairs, etc. |
05:02:11 Ariel / Tara Shadow, that's so good that you took the dog. Seems like you changed his life really. :3 |
05:01:13 Ariel / Tara Diva, it's hard to work about it when it happened only a few times and we cannot seem to figure out the pattern as to why she did that. Also I make the basic mistake - I'm scared of her. |
04:58:18 I feel you Ariel - one of my dogs I got from a co worker who had gotten him from another coworker when he was about 4/5 months old. At the time she was gone for about 14 hours a day from time she left for work and he would be in the crate the whole time. She let him out at night and he ate into the couch - like what you expect so I decided to take him cause she was gonna give him away. HeÂ’s definitely quirky cause he wasnÂ’t socialized right. Not mean just scared and high anxiety and energy but heÂ’s probably the coolest dog IÂ’ve had |
04:55:47 Diva's fruits it all comes back to training and working with your pet really, i like really sweet dogs, but they would bite in certain circumstances, its just personal preference |
04:52:01 Ariel / Tara My dog bites sometimes. And when she can she goes for the face. But in my country everyone says that those dogs from the shelters love people and would do anything for you. This is why it pisses me off, someone then can adopt a dog, get one that bites and just turn it back to the shelter because they didn't expect that. And that makes the trauma for the dog. |
04:49:36 Diva's fruits obviously not, they are animals, mine are usually trained well, but i ve been bitten a fair few times and its just nature really |
04:48:01 Ariel / Tara Only thing I dislike about adopting here is the misinformation. I don't like the talk that all the pets from the shelter are so awesome and have no flaws. |
04:46:57 Diva's fruits makes no sense, instead of making it easier to actually empty shelters , they just put them down because you cant afford |
04:46:28 Ariel / Tara Wow, in my country you mostly can take em for free. When we were adopting we just donated some dog food, but it wasnt required. |
04:46:02 Diva's fruits from a shelter would be around 400 - 500, when just buying a pet plus spaying would be like 200 maybe |
04:45:09 Diva's fruits here yes, most have to be paid for all keeping fees, medical bills, adopting fee etc |
04:44:19 Ariel / Tara You have to pay to adopt? |
04:43:46 Diva's fruits i was thinking of adopting from a shelter, but when i checked the price range and requirements, it just didnt seem normal really, all these ads encouraging to give home, but so much overpricing that its just makes you angry |
04:42:50 Gosky The breeder did such a good job with her |
04:41:51 Diva's fruits she looks so sweet, im having a puppy fever now too, but cant get any now, at least not currently, might look into a cat maybe |
04:41:40 Gosky She's so..uncomplicated. Super sweet with Moya too, never annoying or anything. |
04:40:37 Gosky She's doing so well! She's not even once peed or pooped inside. She can run without a leash, slept through until 5 am in the first night, second night she woke up at 2 because she had to pee, i only opened the terrace door, she ran outside, did her business and came back right away. She loves her little bed and stays there through the entire night and also during the resting times :D |
