I thought being a nurse was hard until I grew up and learned what she did. Hospital policy is that you have to be holding the babies as they die in the case of no parents being there. Which happened.
Cool Ven! Mine was an RN (for 25+) years director of the Health Center until budgets closed it. She went after her CDE license & got it when she was 60

Mine was a NICU nurse for around 20 years, and she switched to nutrition/training for a few years, then got cancer and went off the deep end and studied past life regression hypnotherapy
