Phantom looked at the stallion and then at West she didn't know what to say about the new stallion but she knew it was wrong to judge him badly at first. She stared blankly at both of them flicking her tail as she thought

West stared at this stallion. He couldn't decide whether to take his comments as rude sarcasm... or just sarcasm. West glared at his retreating back. That, was very disrespectful. This young stallion was on his land.. and he just walked off. West decided not to think to much of it. He took a breath and turned back, looking down at the foals. "I would much rather be called Hercules than Mr. Slow... but if you called me West I would be happiest." He attempted a joke with Phantom... but overall he felt slightly uneasy.

Phantom turned looking at West she could sense the uneasy feeling from him "Hercules it is then" She'd smile softly trying to get rid of the uneasy feeling floating around but comforting people was just not her game. She stood flicking her tail unsure of what to say or do next

West took a breath. The one thing he was good at... getting rid of bad feelings. He looked at Phantom. "Wanna race?" He asked, his eyes sparkling. West couldn't deal with this feeling anymore... and who better to vent it with than Phantom..... since she would tease him to death anyway.

|
Phantom's eyes lite up "Who the hell do you think your talking too? Of course I wanna race!"She smiled excitedly now flicking her tail even more "Just tell me where too" She stretched her legs waiting for an answer

West's eyes sparkled. "Ah, but this is no normal race. We will do something like what the foals did... cross country. From here to this Willow, over the two logs, swim across the lake, and whoever get s to the top of the valley on the other side wins." West grinned. He might win this... possibly.. since there was more muscle involved and less running. It would be close.. he hoped.

Phantom groaned she hated cross country, she didn't have a lot of strength to propell herself high over the obstacles. She sighed "Of course we do cross country..." She still was determined to win this though "I'm ready on your count" She side stare West waiting

West got ready, taking a deep breath. "Ready, set, go!" He said loud enough for her to hear, taking off. As usual, his acceleration rate was amazing. He shot forward, careening past the Willow. West lost some time turning, because he was so big, but accelerated out of the turn till he was flat out galloping. He took a giant leap and propelled himself over both the logs at the same time, landing ... and tripling slightly. He quickly regained speed and thundered towards the water, leaping into and swimming with all his muscle... which was a lot. With powerful strokes he swam as fast as he could

Phantom shot forward having a slower accelration rate then West but still got ahead of him when it came to the turn she nearly got her feet knocked out from under her but maintained her speed. West was right behind her when they came up on the logs she barley made it over each one with her hoofs hitting them. That really slowed her down she huffed gaining back her speed. She'd be side by side with West coming up on the lake, she launched herself as far as she could in the lake knowing that this was probably how she was gonna lose. Phantom could barley keep her head above water as she saw West gracefully swim across the lake making it to the other side first. Once she got out the water she shot forward gaining ground back on West, she was right behind him when he made it to the otherside first

West darted out of the water. Phantom was gaining ground.. but he knew he would win. This came the part where he had the advantage. You had to haul yourself up the steep hill... and get tot the top to win. West lurched forward, straining all of his muscles and climbing the hill quicker than he thought possible
