Comanche: 3yrs|Stallion| Father of 2 (Forte, Rosie)| Mated To Delta| M: Herd, Dell, Forte, Tenebris
The stallion's audits flicked as he felt his sons sharp foal teeth on his inner legs, lowering his frame he blew out hot air as he softly nudged his son. "Easy now!" he chuckled. Golden hues glanced back softly at his mate before he charmingly smiled "I am gonna take Forte' to the river, we can finish this convo later" he nickered as he ruffled her forelock before cooing his son to follow.
The little black/white foal trotted after his sire happily, as Comache led them to the river, lowering his frame to the waters for a drink, his son soon busted into the low parts, splashing water everywhere with gleeful nickers as he soaked his sires frame. Huffing some with ears playfully pinned back, he shook his frame as water drops was sprayed at his frame "just be careful Forte'" he sterly nickered. Shifting his weight, he contantly watched his son splash in the water as some other foals prance over to play with their mothers near by. Golden hues fell to the ground as he let out a sigh, he knew there was another scent on Dells coat and it wasn't his. He began to think silly illusions before realizing the scent from the other day crossing that liver stud must still linger on her pelt. He rolled his hues to rid it of his mind. Frame turned in to groom his shoulder as the image of another caught his attention.
A large blue roan stud caught his gazing orbs, audits perked for a moment. He rose an eyebrow as he studyied the stud. He must be new.. Comanche and his mate just returned home after a long awful year to run away together to have a family, somthing about this stallion intruded him. Hues softly narrowed as he traced the patterns on the studs pellet, he hoped Kai made a good choose letting another in with the herd have trippled since last year. Huffing he turned his frame away sourly with a flick of his plumage Edited at August 10, 2021 10:29 PM by Whispering Wood Barn

Sundae (see previous post for background): 4yrs | Mare | M: Comanche Sundae stumbled through the brush, having followed a river for several hours. Occasionaly she bit back at the burs that clung to her unkempt coat, thinking she lie down in the water for a while. The burs would float away and the color of her coat would regain the smooth, regal look that had not long ago made her a stallion's greatest prize. She was still running from the consequences of his selfishness. That's what prevented her from stopping. That and the sounds of snapping twings or rustling tree branches. It had been days since she'd been chased. Yet her legs wouldn't let her stop. Even the smell of blood that had dried on those very same legs had no effect on her. It wasn't her blood. She continued with her head low and ears ahead before she stopped in her tracks. There were other horses... and even with the strong smell of fish and the rush of water at her side, she could hear them. They weren't the ones chasing her. Once she realized that nothing kept her from walking up to the forest edge and staring carfully down at the horses on the riverside. Scent told her there were too many stallions.. too many stallions to deal with. They'd have to be avoided, and that left her no other choice but to turn back.

Comanche| Stallion, 5yrs| Mated To Dell| Sire of 2 (Forte, Rosie)| M: The Herd, Sundae, Open
The stallion's audits flicked softly as he watched this mother come to the river to take Forte' back closer to the herd, the other mares and foals follwed. He turned his frame to the left and seen his mate taking a nap. Shaking his frame he sighed as he began to mozey down the river a ways, but still on herd lands. His muzzle softly nosing the ground with each step as he rose it before lowering it back down into the waters. The cool waters hit his gut like a kick but it was so refeshing. The stallion lifted his frame as he scanned the open feild and wooded lands before him on the other side of the river, shifting his weight over to rest his a hind leg, he peacefully listened to the sounds of the land around him.
Golden hues softly feel closed as he rested softly in a standing stance with just a gentle breeze blowing against his coat that was so gentle, you could barely feel it. A little time had passed before his audits perked at the loud sounds of twigs breaking and thudding hooves. Golden hues shot open in a daggering stare as he quickly looked around, he stood straight as he stomped a hoof on the ground ready to defind his herd for whatever was coming in his direction, plumage rose in dominace as his nostrils flared holding himself up in a challenging way as he busted out a low warning before a golden mare soon appeared just to the right of him on the other side of the river.
He rose a brow yet still cautious as he watched her watch the herd. Icy hues trailed over her silk pelt as she seemed exhausted, hues began to soften yet he narrowed them once more seeing the dried blood on her legs. He had his offspring to protect no matter how she got the blood on her. To him, this meant unwelcoming danger.
"Get away from here!" he spat out like venom in a challenging warning, as he began to heavyily pace towards her as he stayed on his side of the river. This plumage thrashed against his legs like an angry serpent, audits pinned as his daggered hues locked to hers. Edited at September 7, 2021 08:41 AM by Whispering Wood Barn

Sundae | 4yrs | Mare | M: Comanche, Open Sundae groaned inwardly as she realized she'd made her choice to late... too late to escape the stallion that was now pacing toward her. She took him in carefully, considering the idea of staying put and challending him. She was in no condition to do so, she barely had been the last time. But then again, she'd seen him send back what must have been his foal. If they could step inside the tree line a ways she could potentially take him down... a risk that probobly wasn't worth it. He was too large, too young, and too full of strength. Modest muscles were obvious enough to see as he moved toward her. The gleam in his coat was enough to tell that he was taking care of himself. That was more than she could say for herself. All the same... he was too close to her now for her to move. So she stayed put, not so much as shifting away from the brambles that the wind blew lightly against her hide. She fought the instinct to pin her ears, and decided to approach the situation with less violence than she would have prefered. "I mean no trouble," She lied through her teeth, but did so beautfully, lowering her head enough to show submission. Her eyes, the bold color of will-o-the-wisps, fell with her head, "I've been traveling for the long time and I merely want to pass through." She was lucky she'd lowered her head in time to notice the blood on her legs. That would have to be covered by another lie, "I... I'm on the run from my last herd. It was a massacre... I barely escaped with my life. Honestly, I just want to get as far from here as I can."
