Cora | Lead Mare | 14yrs | 16.1hh | M: Open . It'd been about a week since the lead stallions passing Cora had been watching over the herd like a hawk if there was any chaos in the herd she had to break it up, The herd needed to stay on a low profile now that they were weaker without their protector. Her role was quite stressful now she had to make up for the loss of the lead stallion she was just glad there was a couple months before she has to deal with a newborn foal at the same time, The mare missed when she was just able to graze and relax but those times were over. . Elanor | Herd Mare | 2yrs 11months | 15hh | M: Open . Bucking as she felt a nip to her hind end the yearling colt she was playing with was getting a bit too bitey, Most of the colts that were supposed to be chased away hadn't been due to the lead stallion not being around anymore. Flagging her tail the mare trot along with the yearling in tow as they played, The dark bay splash roan stopped shaking out her mane before starting a grooming session with the yearling.

《Cecilia|Herd Mare|L: With Herd|Int: OPEN》 ~ Cecilia glanced around, ears pricked high. She'd thought she'd heard something. Deciding against it, the pretty mare bent her head back down and began to graze again. Sounds of a squeal from beside her didn't alarm her; the yearling colts and fillies had been rather loud and rowdy these past few days. Usually, it would have been the lead mare's job to break them up. However with the lead stallion being gone, Cora- the resident lead mare- had been far too busy protecting the herd to focus on small things such as misbehaving yearlings. As two young foals raced by her, pulling at each others tails and biting at legs, Cecilia rocketed up from her grazing position, braying at the two and showing her teeth. Immediately, the two misbehaving foals sank down, ears low and tails still. The colt came to Cecilia, lipping at the underside of her chin as a show of apology. Snorting, Cecilia waved the foals off and returned to her grazing. • 《Finley Miller|28|L: On Ridge|Int: OPEN》 ~ Finley peered through her camera lens, adjusting the focus so that it was perfectly capturing the events of the herd. Just as she had properly set everything up, she witnessed a herd mare playing with a small colt. Grinning from ear to ear, Finley filmed the whole thing. Shortly after that, too, she captured a herd mare telling off a rowdy young pair of foals. "Wow," Finley breathed. It was one thing to grow up loving horses, seeing them on TV and in books, but it was another to be so close to them, capturing their reactions and relationships in real time like this. It was simply incredible. Edited at June 26, 2022 09:58 AM by Orchid Lane Stables

| Luna | Herd Mare | 6yrs | 16.2hhs | Location: Herd | Mentions: Open to interactions | The mare would be grazing peacefully in the herd, raising her head as Luna walks forward. Her tail swished at the flies to keep them from landing on her before shaking her mane, she wondered out of the herd as the mare lowered her head a bit as if looking for a good spot to roll to smell like the herd's location. Once the mare found a spot to roll, not realizing that she has wondered from a bit too far from the herd, lightly pawing at the ground to make sure that no rocks or anything would poke her before she started to go down, neatly tucking her front legs under her first before her back legs then be began to roll as her coat was slowly becoming dirty in the process. The mare finished rolling as she laid there for a few moments before standing herself back up on her hooves, lightly shook herself as dirt and dust comes off her now dirty coat. Luna realized that she was a bit to far from the herd which caused the mare to get anxious as the mare hurriedly trots back to the safety of the herd. Torbjorn | Bachelor Stallion | M: Vaguely the herd The stallion was restless, mane shaking as the flies returned. He was glad the heat had gone away with the clouds, which now provided a fair amount of shade as he stood and grazed. A splash from the creek behind him catches his attention and he hurries to check it out, grass and leaves still hanging from his muzzle. Gaia. The young filly had been with him for a while now, not that he didn’t mind the company, and the pair had made it quite a ways despite how distracted she could be. Now she seemed to be enjoying the water, jumping and kicking at her reflection, or occasionally racing back to the safety of land when a fish swam by or some aquatic grass slithered along her leg. The old stallion chuckles, turning to watch her as he continues his lazy meandering for food. Eventually, the filly returns to his side. Soaking wet and dripping water, she looked more like a drowned rat than a vibrantly splashed yearling. Bjorn nudges her shoulder, tossing his head in a gesture to follow as he makes his way back to the worn path, leaving the creek behind. Gaia was right there with him, prancing ahead or off to the side. Every so often she would stray from his sight, which meant he would stop and panic until he found her only a few paces behind, sniffing at something she was curious about. It was a routine, one he didn’t mind. The flowers, however, were an issue. The filly would stick her favorite flowers from the road into the tangled parts of mane she could reach, leaving him with a rather interesting crown at his shoulder. All that was lost as the calls of fellow horses reaches his ears. He nudges the filly pinning his ears and placing her at his flank as he tops the hill, watching the herd below go about their lives. Gaia was more interested in the fellow foals, most of which seemed to be racing and playing, nipping at each other and hurrying away. So he stood, filly at his side, eyeing the herd before him at a safe distance. Oron | Bachelor Stallion | M: None The stallion wasn’t quite sure where he was going, just that he wanted to go there. Open plains, dusty and littered with dying and equally dusty plants. His hooves made gentle thumps against the ground, dirt trailing him as he walked. Every so often he would find himself getting tired, at which point he would forget to lift his hooves enough and would ding them on rocks, or trip in general. He pins his ears, glaring at the rocks and plants. I hate this, he echoes in his mind.

Cora | Lead Mare | 14yrs | 16.1hh | M: Luna, Open . A few reeds of grass poking out from the side of her mouth Cora looked over the herd, Her blue eyes locked on a mare trotting back towards the herd making her snort. It was quite dangerous to wander from the herd at this time, Flicking her tail the pregnant mare gave the mare an unkind look as if warning her not to wander off. Lowering her head she pulled up a mouthful of grass before watching the herd again . Elanor | Herd Mare | 2yrs 11months | 15hh | M: Open . Using her teeth the mare scratched at the yearlings side getting an itch for him as he did the same with her side, Flicking her dark tail at her sides the mare was finished grooming when the colt didn't stop grooming her she gave a squeak and a turn of her haunches an the colt was off running not wanting to receive any buck she offered. Shaking out her mane the mare walked a few steps before lowering her head to graze . Anastasia Roux Greyson | 26yrs | Human | M: Open . Listening to the hum of the motor on her car Anne was driving down the outback dirt road making her way to work, She'd left at 12 but it was a long drive into town. She had her camera and a spare change of clothes in the back ready to go see her own horse later on and ride out to go watch the wild herd she'd heard of in town a couple days ago, The woman was thrilled to finally get photos and view some wild horses again. . Osiris | Bachelor Stallion | 7yrs | 16.2hh | M: Torbjorn, Gaia, Open . Making his way towards a pond Osiris shook out his mane letting his forelock fall near his eyes shielding them from the pesky flies, Nearing the water source Osiris lowered his head to get a nice long drink from the slightly chilled water. Lifting his head the stallions muzzle dripped with the clear liquid before he took a deep breath taking in all the scents around him, One that caught his attention was the scent of two horses having been here not all that long ago. Osiris wasn't going to chase any horse down just yet he needed to get his energy back after just having fought with a band stallion a bit ago, leaving said band stallion with some mares probably pregnant with his foals. Liberty | Herd Mare | 5 yrs | 16.3hh | M: Herd, Torbjorn, Cora, Open - Liberty grazed peacefully near the outside of the herd, paying little attention to the stallion looking at the herd above her. Flicking at some flies landing on her flank, she moved closer to the herd. After what happened to her previous herd, she wasn't taking any chances. Liberty watched some foals run around, them decided to continue grazing. She was grateful that they still had their lead mare to protect them from bachelor stallions.
